My great grandfather came over from Ireland (Erin go Bragh!) just like this. My father was born in Canada as was I, but I'm back HOME now in AMERICA, where I belong! I'll never forget my double immigrant heritage. Spent the morning at the airport welcoming some of our boys and girls back from Afghanistan. We may decry all war, but always Support Our Troops. As an immigrant myself I love this... didn't go through Ellis Island but.. a few years back you could buy bricks if you or your ancestors immigrated to the US. As an immigrant I got one. See I was adopted as some of you know so like so many I am an immigrant and proud of it. I still remember the day I went to court at six and raised my hand , walked in an immigrant , walked out an American....
