  • The black alox victorinox is actually the pioneer and the black plastic one an recruit just saying hope it helps you!

I really love the soldier by the way I like the shield what's on the handle nay get an wenger standard issue later first I trie to get an pioneer

  • i love the style of that black victorinox so beautiful!

  • For those who might have had and lost the Imperial Schrade "Kamp King" (Also known as the "Camper" and "Forest Master")...there is eBay who inherited a tackle shop inventory and has a whole lot of brand new circa 1980's Kamp Kings still in the blister pack. Her user name natalia1954. No affiliation or anything. I swear. Just a fellow knife collector.

  • Wenger completely copies Victorinox

  • @dA55assin117 victorinox owns the wenger company lol, so they are suppose to copy them

  • Little help on the whittler....That knife was made in the 70s, some say those were the best years for Case. Google it, there's many websites on collecting Case knives, There should be marks on the bottom of the main blade and you can identify the exact year. Enjoy it! I love the camp style myself.

  • i had a camper when i was a lad. i didnt use it much. i prefered my two blade barlow. the alox black model on the end looks bad ass. ive been watching those dudes and their slippy vids. those queens cutlery knives are classy. so suave. spalted maple is a perfect handle material.

  • you rock still preparing for apocalypse":D

  • @theocarinanoob ALWAYS!! Live to prep, prep to live!

  • It must have been a nice suprise to find an old caseknife on the bottom of a greasy toolbox!

  • @leftie4all - found 2 homemade knives as well in the toolbox. Pretty "rough" for actual usage. Kinda like fancy prison shivs LOL

  • Very entertaining video!

I learned a lot, kudos for GREAT information and history!

I too am impressed by that double spring system on that slippie and the blade does look rather stout!

    Thanks for your time!

  • @ZippoThisKnifeThat - thanks Zippo! I really like that little Whittler knife and its interesting lock system, I am definitely going to watch eBay for ones in better condition at a reasonable price.

  • @FrenziedCalm That's the tough part right? It's still difficult for me to swallow $30+ for a simple slip joint. I need to gain more of an appreciation for slippies before I start dropping those kinds of dollars for slip joints. lol

  • @ZippoThisKnifeThat - yup... I still can't believe I spent $70 on that Orange Case Jr Scout... Honestly, if it wasn't hi viz orange I would never even have considered it, but I have a serious weakness for orange handled knives. It is a really nice knife... and I'd buy it again if I lost it, but still... SEVENTY BUCKS?!? OUCH!!

  • your grandfathers knife is a beauty. I believe it is referred to as a "split spring whittler". I have a Winchester manufactured in '88 that could be a good possibility for you. they are no longer manufactured but are still available and a little searching will be required. the whittler pattern is popular among collectors because they typically were made with premium scale materials and quality fit and finish. will try to get a video out for you. thanks for the viddie.

  • @mickthepope I'd love to see your Winchester, I'll definitely watch eBay for such an option. Love the thick blade and lock system on it!! Thanks for the kind words!

  • Sick video. But I'm pretty sure the Black one is a Pioneer. A personal favorite of mine. The Recruit is a celluloid handled one. Pioneer is the alox version.

  • @victorinoxfan - Thanks for catching that, you are absolutely right! Oops!! I'll annotate corrections so it hopefully doesn't cause too much confusion for others. Thanks for watching!

  • Seriously want that orange Case, thanks for sharing.

  • @TangoMikeFoxtrot - Yeah, I love the orange G-10 Case. I believe I bought that one on eBay for about $70, so it wasn't cheap, but I love that its smaller and lighter than the alternatives. It feels VERY solid too given its small size. It has become a main EDC of mine, along with that Victorinox Waiter when I need to go even lighter.

  • Great video, really like the history on these....very interesting knowledge on the knife style. Thanks for the shout out, very cool of you. Also love watching slipjoint videos, I wish more of our community would get more interested in them and hear their ideals of their choices and why. It would be very interesting to see different views, just like yours was very enjoyable to me. Take care Frenzied.

  • @bbabear01 - Thanks for the kind words, and thank you for all of your vids as well, they have done alot to generate my interest in slipjoints as well as many many other folks too I'm sure. I'll be sure and post followup videos as I clean up that old Case knife.

  • Great looking knives.
