@KastroThaDon Format it as FAT32 instead of NTFS or Mac OS Extended and then both operating systems will be able to read/write to it. Alternatively, you could format it as NTFS and install Macfuse and NTFS-3G on your Mac.
Please answer me... I have this same hard drive (mine is black) but i think mine is broken. The lights on the top of it are blinking. I dont know how to fix it and may be you could help me.
mate, i bought this about a year ago.. used it on my pc for a while and then invested in a macbook... i dont use PC's anymore and now i just came accross my old seagate hard drive and im trying to get it to work with my macbook but i cant get it to work!! when i plug it in it just beeps at me for ages and its not in disk utility! works in my mums windows laptop fine... HELP! lol
The FreeAgent Go is only windows compatible. It is not programmed for Mac OS. However, if you remove the Seagate software on it, you may be able to use it on your Macbook. The Seagate FreeAgents that are compatible with Apple Os' are the GoFlex and GoFlex Plus.
Sweet! Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if Camtwist could do that (as I don't have a working Mac atm) X_X. But I don't understand why Chris never did that in some of his videos where it would have been a lot better to be able to see through the opaque black rectangle he had. I definitely like yours better because I can see a lot more of the picture and still look at the chat.
Hello- I have a 250GB Seagate FreeAgent Go which was working fine till a couple of days a go. Both my laptop & desktop computer do not detect it. It has a humming sound when it starts, which wasn't there before this problem started. I've backed up so many files on it & I need to recover them. Please help!! Any tips!
I only use it to store music on me Seagate. My laptop doesn't read it anymore. It only flashes the light. What could be the problem? please help?

can you copy things such as music, movies, to it from both windows and mac?

You don't have to worry about moving a hard drive when it is on, although it is recommended to avoid excessive shock/vibrations.

Looks like a nice hard drive. I need one, and not sure exactly what to get. But good review! They're always in depth. =P
BTW how do you get the chat there on top of a transparent bar? I definitely like that better than Chris Pirillo's chat setup.
Technoguy3 2 years ago
@Technoguy3 Thanks. I do it with CamTwist (which is what Chris uses). I use the PIP desktop with chroma keying and a semi transparent black square.
