  • wow amazing :3

I got Corel painter 12 like yesterday, I dont know how it works yet, how did you learned?

I always simply drawed by hand but im in art school now and i'd like to learn how to make digital art

  • wow

  • what were kind of brushes were you using ?? that is very good i have a mac so what size do you recommend i use?

  • There are people who use a mouse to paint pictures, but it takes patience and skill. I'd like a Wacom though, I have a laptop.

  • I have corel painter x. ok I don't know how to use it very well, so I just start

drawing and using the paint tool. Did you take courses? how did you learn

    to use corel?

  • do u have corel essentials 4? i dont know how to make a speed paint video. if any one knows, please help me!

  • FUCK! -___-

  • u just copy a foto ... make real stuff!

  • Wow! Turned out even better than the reference itself! I think someone has said this before in the comments, but the fact that this wasn't just a photoshopped 'speed-painting' yet turned out so realistically speaks volumes about how good an artist you are!

  • I use a wacom they are awesome.

  • Are you using a graphic tablet? If you are, what model is it?

  • Just get any Wacom, they work great.

  • Awesome tutorial! Thank you for sharing.

  • What kind of bump map tools does Painter support?

  • Thom this picture of you .. you are a creep!! haha anyways you are talented for just fuckin around on the computer!!

now check out my new videos on the Chode Project

    -Kevin

  • Great work on the eyes :D

  • For the record, I lke your eyes better than the reference picture

  • Wow! Awesome drawing! Wish I could draw like that.....lol. Great job!

  • Very nice!!!

  • Wow, thanks =). I found the problem... I only had 180 pixels/inch.. I now use 2048x1536 as dimensions, with 300 pixels/inch. I'm not a professional nor trained artist, so as for now, that works great for me ^^.

I usually use Oil for the hair, all the rest I do with airbrush. =)

  • What resolution are you using? Like what's the size of your canvas? I always have the problem that it gets too pixely (if that word exists ^^) if I want to go into details =/. And if I take a huge canvas... it just gets very sloooww because the file size is like 100 mb.

  • Which "brush" did you use?

  • WOW!

  • Hey phenomenal job man this is just incredible how long did this take and do you do futuristic like works?

  • First of all, amazing! And secondly, was this done with a tablet or by mouse?

  • ...why do people always ask that? Using a mouse is like painting with a brick.

  • Ya this is done with a tablet. True story snuff, I have never even attempted with a mouse. Seems like a it would be impossible.

  • Not impossible, just takes forever. ;)

  • True. I used a mouse for everything before but i just got an wacom intuos and i can do everything alot faster more effeciently, because the mouse was so frustrating that i would rush my work just to stop using it.

  • it's possible there's plenty people on youtube that draw with a mouse. The best i've seen so far is "Kasumisman".

    Great with a Microsoft Mouse!

  • it looks better then the photograph, more smooth

  • great job mate!

  • better than the original

  • SIC!!! 5 stars

  • Which one's better, photoshop or this one??..I just wanna know what u guys think

  • good work.. I'm just learning how to use it right know!

  • lol it's not that great. I mean, its not a speed painting, u just imitated a picture, and there's almost no texture in it. ---> I think you're do something better uhuh lol

Anyway it' awsome! I'm learing to use this program and it' very hard, nice work!

  • Não é corel acho que é illustrator

  • O nome do programa que ele usou é Corel Painter, trata-se de um simulador de materiais de pintura, desenho, e etc...Bem legal.

  • cool!

  • lol it's not that great. I mean, its not a speed painting, u just imitated a picture, and there's almost no texture in it.

  • critics are cripples who teach you how to run

  • id say 75% of the speed paintings on youtube are either direct "imitation" from a source picture or almost imitation ( arms or legs may be shifted but otherwise same as source. ) The fact it looks so good without texture (a once over with a spatter brush wouldnt have hurt) is a testimony to the excellent job done.

  • Thanks for your critique. I really appreciate people giving honest opinions about this drawing. It was not meant to be a work of art by any means and truly doesnt have much feeling or style. Although I do have a great respect for photo-realist painters and my work reflects the impact of artists like chuck close and others. This painting is merely a sketch that I did while learning the software. I hope to learn to be much more impressionistic in my approach once i start doing some real pieces.

  • Cool.

  • Good night.... that's danged impressive, y'all...

  • u are crazyy

  • It ended up looking better than the real photograph..

    Nice work.

  • HOLY MOLEY

  • how long took you to make this? nice job

  • very nice!

  • nice work!!

  • Is this done with a tablet?

    Which one? What brand?

  • yes. wacom intuos 3. 6x8 inch i believe.

  • @keter54 i've been using a "WACOM BAMBOO PEN AND TOUCH SE" 5* product very portable and only £100 ish. comes with a great bundle of software too. check them out!

  • omg... u r amazing lol just amazing)

  • I consider myself an artist, but I've never had any formal training. I look at this, and I'm just dumbstruck. There's something about it that I just don't get. Whenever I try this method, my drawings just come out waxy and blurry, and my faces look more like E.T. as they go. Anyone know any in depth tutorials?

  • Awesomee o:

Wish I could paint liek that.

I don't even know the basics of Corel Painter hahaa.

    Kudos!

    And who signed in @ 6 mins 30 ? ;p

  • amazing what artists can do

but why would any one want to use

    anything other than photoshop?

  • corel painter is made specifically for painting in this aspect. However, from what i have seen, photoshop has a much better blending engine on its brushes. I have tried to switch over to photoshop and paint on there but it is just not as user friendly as far as mixing colors and changing brushes etc... Thanks for the compliment. :)

  • I find a mix of both painter and photoshop is better then just one or the other, Both have their pro's and con's :) But i much prefer painters...painting methods. Just personal opinion though lol, Amazing work too :) Left iris (From the video, Acutally your right eye) was a little darker in the picture :)

  • so much work on just one part of the face... you did a great job. if you do this with mouse than i'm impressed.

  • Your fucking lying your ass off you gay faggit, and nice work on the eyes although you didnt realise that the left eye is actually darker a little...

  • I give you 5 star ..

can you tell me your MSN ?

  • better than the original...

  • Very cool! That question may be silly, but are you using a mouse or a tablet?

  • Good work.

  • Wow! I'm very impressed!!

  • Very nice video, Mistatumnus. You did the detail so intricately, especially for a speedpaint. You did the eyes fantastically, and all the facial lines. Great work!

  • Very not bad!

  • Lets see you do it, then.

  • good reply. I'd rather get my hands dirty

  • You have.. absolutely no appreciation for art.

And I assume you don't have any balls either. Let's see you try.

  • oh god. i appreciate good art. not some fucken copy machine bullshit

  • You don't know art, this is no different than impressionist painting. Go to the Louvre it's full of paintings in this style just done with paint instead of computers.

  • how can you draw like that.I`m amazed, woow

  • Incredible technique, but a hideous picture to paint. the camera is so close that Tom is more cross-eyed than usual, and distorted by the lens.

  • If I didn't give you 5 stars, I would never forgive myself. XD

learned a lot from this vid.

    thanks.

  • OMG 5 stars

  • SPETTACOLARE ! ! ! FROM ITALY ! ! !

  • That is so awesome, its better than the orginal!!! Great work, 5/5

  • damn you are amazing. 5*

  • Great Job

  • Awesome

  • better than the original

  • You do a lot of superfluous strokes (for example when drawing the outlines of the left iris), which eats a lot of time. But the result is great :)

  • you need them to approach to the perfect lines as close as possible. if you don't do that, you are a machine.

  • Not really, there's a difference between trying to find the perfect line, and cluttering like this guy does. It doesn't really matter what technique you use, it's the result that counts. All I am saying is that he waste a lot of time on ghost painting.

  • yes but his "cluttering" is the try to find the perfect line and there is no difference. yes, you are right, as a example a machine don't waste a lot of time with "ghost painting". what we learn? if you don't want to loose to much time, let be paint machines!

  • So if I draw a 1000 lines to get the "perfect line", I'm still not cluttering. Whatever man, you just don't get it :)

  • you are right, i don't get it. whatever, let us find the perfect line!

  • Uhhmmm... Don't tell me! Don't tell me! ...TOM CRUISE, RIGHT?! :D lol.. Really terrific job!

  • Nice. 1hr 12mins! Sweet!

  • How much time did it take ? is awesome !!!!!!!!

  • omg! the eyes look so realistic

  • Fantastic!

  • wow! fantastic!!!

  • This is awesome! I can't believe how realistic it turned out in the end and how fast you drew it!
