  • I am proud how this man who sings, pronouces the word "Warszawa" Polish is not easy to pronounce for foregin people, but he does that perfectly, like it should be in polish!

  • I am Polish and I am proud to hear that song in other languages. I have never realized, that it was sung in Swedish. I don't know that launguage, so I cannot judge it, but the original text is very beautiful and poetic. It is sung by a man who misses his pre-war warsaw, tells that he wants to walk again through some streets and districts of Warsaw. Thank you and greetings from Poland!

  • @marekryszka Yes, this was a popular song in post-war Scandinavia. It was recorded by at least two Swedish singers, this one and by Bertil Bo that can also be viewed on YT. The version by Bertil Bo is actually the more popular one, but I think this version by Gustaf Torrestad is better. The Swedish lyrics is about Warszawa that has be devastated by the war, but shall again raise it's head and glory as before. I think that many post war Europeans could relate to the song in that time.

  • @husbondensrost Could you perhaps share the lyrics of this song with us? I can't find them on google.

  • @mundialreklamy Here you go, I have now written the lyrics in the video description.

  • @husbondensrost

    Thank you so much:)

Judging by GoogleTranslate, Polish version sung by M. Fogg (ironically a descendant of Swedish immigrants) is much more personal, which fits well together with the fact that he himself was a Warsaw insurgent.

This one is great too, though!

Tack :)
