KNO3 is called potassium nitrate. It can be found in most Lowes or Garden Ridge's. In those stores is most commonly bought in Stump Remover (contains a bunch of KNO3) or just pure potassium nitrate. Buying the straight powder works best but if you must buy Stump Remover then that'll do

kno3 is the formula for potassium nitrate its called.

K= Potassium

N= Nitrojen

3= makes it "trate"

Kno3= Potassium Nitrate.

KNO3 is an ionic compound made up of Potassium and Nitrate, the 3 doesnt make it "trate" Nitrate is NO3- and is a polyatomic ion which dictates that its nomenclature has a "trate". Because of the high rxn rate of the NO3- and the K+, when a heat source is added to the mix, it breaks the bonds between them and releases the energy stored in the C12H22O11 (sucrose or sugar) causing the reaction that u see. Well You Can Get The Dye From Any SuperStore Shop's, But It Has To Be Powder, Not Liquid, Otherwise The Liquid Dye Will React With The Mixture, And Wont Work Intill It Dry's (Y)

In This Video I Didnt Use Cololured Dyer, But I Do UsE It, And Its AMAZINGLY FUN!
