  • You MORONS, these people are being treated like animals and you are complaining that their living illegally??? These are humans!! Children, women, aged people, helpless people.

If they shouldnt be allowed to live illegally, MUCH LESS should they be treated without dignity!

  • Slum dwellers all over India should be evicted and sent back to their home towns. People from small towns come to big cities believe they will have a better life continue to live a fools dream. Not only do they ruin their own quality of life but also adversely affect life of the people who originally live in that city. It has a detrimental effect on society as a whole and breeds squalor and corruption. If they stay back, they can at least live a better life and contribute in a positive way.

  • @bruceborges I can c ..... how narrow n ill minded u r. Just..... n just for a moment... u r a part of such poor family n u clearly knw dat u might deserve better. Will u say the same? U moron. Here u perfectly prove that getting degrees definitely won't prove that u r a better human.

  • Wonderful Documentary, but then the issue isn't that the people were evicted..because that land belongs to the govt as it is! The issue is WHY? they're living there in the first place, why has nothing been done to accommodate them?

The CWG has given Delhi better roads and infrastructure...and we're happy about that, but what we forget is we have simply been given what we already deserved!!

Its a pity that all this money would never come out of banks and govt offices to help the poor...

  • one sided & totally ridiculous video...do u think the slumdwellers in dharavi in mum or kolkotta wd have acted any differently to ANY development work..shd they be allowed to dwell in these illegal homes indefinitely???

  • Who is paying the cost of the games? The Indian taxpayer.

Who benefits? Everybody riding the new metro, which would never have opened in time if not for the CWG. The taxi driver, who finally has SOME decent roads to drive on. The roadside athlete who now can play at a stadium.

The complaints of the people in the video have existed for decades. They have NOTHING to do with the CWG. If we hadn't had the CWG, the blame would be on something else. At least this way, the funds ARE being used.

  • @lunarkaos So.. do u mean... those ppl living roadside r not taxpayers ???

  • Retarded video.

It's not an "eviction" if the people there don't belong there in the first place. You know what they do to homeless people who sleep on the street in western countries? They throw them in jail. And here, not only are these people sleeping on public land illegally, they've erected shanties there! Would you approve of public encroachment in your own country? But it's okay in India, because it's already messed up? You want illegal evictions, google the Narmada Bachao Andolan.

  • @lunarkaos LOL.... first of all ... why this eviction .... to have wider roads, to have a proper transportation and comfort. So, why dat need came? bcz, of population growth. Who is increasing the population? U definitely say...the poor n uneducated... lets take it is true for now...but do this expansion or so called beautification helps them? They are also humans my dear fellow human.

  • Another hard question to ask is: Why are people who are unable to feed even themselves producing even more children and perpetuating poverty? Who is supposed to come and feed and take care of all these people? India is already overpopulated with poor and malnourished people, and the small handful of "cities" have almost run out of standing room (look at the MASSIVE crowds of the poor, sickly and malnourished in any picture of Indian cities), yet there are no population control measures. Why?

  • @RatRaceAce Bcz, we (every 1 of us..including me n u) just say...wont act.

  • These people are migrant labourers who travel to big cities like Delhi and live on the streets, trying to find any kind of menial work: because there are no opportunities in their own villages or towns. We should be asking: why does India have such unbalanced development? Why do only a small handful of cities have some basic infrastructure? Why is the infrastructure in most of India so pathetic that people have to run away to the handful of cities and live like beggars there, without dignity?

  • its a shame to know.. we care about our face in front of the world.. but not for our people...

  • fairly delusional country this...cant even take care of its own poor and wants to be a power...???

  • A very nice film indeed. the problem is not the system that evacuates people from slums but the system that encourages such unequal distribution of wealth leading people to stay in slums.

We should definitely organise games but they not a in a wasteful way that we have seen this time. In a country with 30% people in BPL, any games must earn money for the country through ads, licensing, merchandising and tickets.
