Could you please tell us which pins go to which selections (i.e. fan and different paths for the air) I'd like to rig up my own switches using the jumper settings, I especially need the pins for defrost and hi speed fan. you can also respond to my email deedoubleu1954@aol.com...Thanks man...Great Video
MY FATHER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE HEATER I REMOVED THE HEATING UNIT AND RE-SOLDERED THE SOLDER POINT TO WHERE THE WIRE HARNESS CONNECTS........WORKS BETTER THAN EVER
Hi, if my 88 camry blows heat only 5 mins after it starts, then only cold air, would follow your video work? i didn't quite hear WHY you took it apart and HOW you fix the problem. Thanks.
@sleebb Well it sounds like you have the same problem I had. After it stops blowing hot/warm air does the heated air ever return? Is it somewhat random? Well that is caused by the connector in the back of the rheostat. The circuit is not reading correctly. If you watch the video, I show you how to "Jump" the connectors so that it always has heat. Or if you want you can jump it with a switch and have it be either hot or cold. (no variation.) You can jump it with a simple hairpin, or paper clip.
@shoDOHC funny you ask, because it USED to blow heat randomly, but now it just blows heat the FIRST 5 minutes after start driving. So if I park the car long enough, say 4 hours, then i'd get another 5 minutes. Most times I get 5 minutes of heat each day in the morning.
If I were to "jump" it, does that mean I'd only have heat blowing always? Which means my A/C in the summer would no longer blow cold?
I will soon try to remove the panel. I'm sure I have more questions for you then. Thanks.
Great video! I used it to troubleshoot my panel and I am currently looking for someone to do the repair on it. I was wondering if you could tell us what pins go to what settings on this panel. Just until mine gets repaired I want to use jumpers on the pins in the connector that plugs into the back of this panel so that I can at least defrost my windshield. I need to know what pins to jump across for defrost and for high speed fan. Thanks
Have you any idea what may cause the AC to work somtimes and not . I checked the fan running but no cold air comming out just warm the led on the push button AC is on when turning the ac on , Mine is not the electronic type it is the manual type and engine is 4 cyl. I am disabled and have no money to take it in .
@runamoktoo thanks man, actually you were the person who got me to decide to get this 88 all-trac...I was asking you in your all-trac camry vid about these cars. It honestly drives so well, its such a pleasure to ride around in...not to mention I got it for 500 bux..113k miles...5 speed..and new tires/ battery!!! As for the heater I have now put a single on/off switch in the rheostat circuit...so if it is on, I get heat, and if its off I get cool air. I was just tired of messing with it.
