@peaceThalia Um, okay, it's great that you read large and inappropriate (you spelled that wrong, btw) books. I'm so glad that some kids still read a lot. But they are childish. There's a TALKING DOG. Among other things. Most books that adults read don't have "saving the world" as the plot. In WTWB and The Lake House, they were just trying to survive. The way the bird kids were made was based on actual science. The Max Ride series has super powers, robot werewolves, ect. Come back in 5 years.

Im 11 and i've read when the wind blows and the Lakehouse. Theyre very VERY good and i would suggest them to anyone who is looking for one of those "i cant put it down" books!! Ohh BtW... What is the first MR book?? Thx!!

@Tigger1tigger2 The first one is Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. But I read WTWB when I was about your age and after that, Max Ride seemed watered down to me. Execpt that I guess I was older when MR came out, so you may still find them really great. And there's a lot more books in that series.

i av only read the first maximum ride series so far and i will read all of them but i would have preferred movies of when the wind blows and the lake house

I've never read the Max series because i don't like the fact that the idea of the series is taken from When the wind blows i know it was made for pre teen and teens, but i just don't like the similarities like max and fangs relationship and max and oz and the whole human/bird thing... i'm sure its a good series and i'm planning on reading it, i hope no one dies in this series like the lake house. I would prefer a movie based on when the wind blows and the lake house instead

I agree. I read the first 3 Max Ride books and stopped. I wish they would make a WTWB movie, but they can't now because of the MR movie.... : (

When the Wind Blows is very good. I actually like it better. But remember, it is for grown ups. I wouldn't suggest you read it if you are under 18. Also, there are no superpowers or talking dogs or werewolf men. It is written very realistically, more scientifically based than Maximum Ride.

The characters and events are not the same because it is a completely different series. Read Maximum Ride as if it is something completely new. I know it is similar to When the Wind Blows, but Maximum Ride was written for young adults and teens and is totally different. As you read Max Ride, forget all about the characters in WTWB, they are NOT THE SAME.

Maximum Ride and WTWB are different series, so obviously the characters are different. I onlyy read the Max Ride series cuz I'm too young, is it really, like, mature?

Hi! I'm glad you liked the book. It doesn't have a movie, but James Patterson wrote a teen series that's very similar called Maximum Ride. The last book in that series comes out very soon. They are planning on making a movie of those books.

I mean, compared to Max RIDE, "Silver Wings" has been living the cooshie like up until now. I didnt see HER undergoing evil genetic experimets so far. MAXIMUMRIDE, for the fist TEN YEARS of her pathetic life, treated like Dirt. no, WORSE than dirt, while silver wings gets to watch TV and play on a computer all day. It is so unfair. GO MAXIMUM R.! "Silver Wings" as you call her did indeed go through genetic experimentation. For purposes of the story, this isn't revealed in WTWB until later on, so just keep reading. WTWB Max is wired differently - she has been educated only by TV and scientists, so she doesn't know how to interact with real people. I find this much more interesting. Just wait until they find the other bird kids and the "nursery" then you'll see how bad that Max had it.

Max Ride is the one who's had TV and internet and her own private, adult-free house in the forest for 4 years. She's the one who's had it easy. James Patterson wrote it that way because that's every kid's wish. It makes kids want to join the flock. In WTWB, no one wants to go through what those kids have.

Sorry, one more thing - Max Ride and her flock can hide their wings and look normal. It's too perfect. In WTWB, the kids have elongated bodies and feathers on most of their bodies. Also, that Max is oviparous, meaning she's an egg layer. Those kids can never pretend to be normal, while Max Ride and flock can be normal or have awesome powers. Too perfect. And they're young but are tall for their age and look older so they can get piercings and whatnot. Too perfect.

I read When The Wind Blows when i was 13 and The Lake House when i was 14 now i'm 15 and i just recently read the first 2 of Maximum Ride. I havent gotten the 3rd yet, but the origionals (WTWB and TLH) were way better than the Maximum Ride series

i've read When The Wind... and The lake house I got My lil sis(15)into it but shes reading the Max ride seriesshe said they were better I havnt had the time to read them 'cause Im always working but my dad says its cause the series was made for young adults I guess I jsut have to find out for myself
