I just want to state something for the people looking to buy this mouse for MMO use. It's great, I've had it over a year now and have had little to no problems except for when the batteries get low but it's easily avoidable. To me what makes it so great is the option to change the binds on the mouse, I changed the "stealth" button, the left and right scroll wheel, and the DPI changer for extra binds and it's helped me micro manage on games a lot.
That would depend on the size of your hand. The MX 1100 is a large mouse. After some use I became accustomed to it. I've done some long editing sessions with it and experienced very little fatigue.
looks like u dont have mice experience I would say.. u didnt even compare it with other mice like the G5, or G9 .. mx revolution is not a reference mouse. U need to look at it as a whole.. I would say.. cause this didnt really help make a decision wherever to get it or not.
My apologies. I couldn't make a comparison to the mice you listed because I've never used them personally. The only comparison I could make is to the MX Revolution - at that time.
Its alrite man. We cant have all the mice in the world anyways.. I got the first generation G5 mice, the second generation G5 mice, the logitech trackman wheel mouse, the logitech mx 518, the logitech G9, the mac mice , the logitech rumblepad 2, the saitek cyborg evo, the nostromo NS2, an imac 2003 keyboard, a razer Tarantula keyboard , wolf claw keyboard, a logitech standard keyboard, two zboard keyboard with bf2 extensions .
hey could you tell me what is the range on this one like how far can i sit from the receiver and it still get a good response...and another thing does any barrier between the mouse and the receiver hinder its functionality...
I got that desk from IKEA somewhere between 3 - 5 years ago. The name of that line was JERKER but it was discontinued some time last year. I ended up selling it to the people that bought my old house early this summer.
I've had this mouse for a long time (probably over a year now) and I am extremely satisfied with it overall. I actually purchased it because my MX1000 couldn't hold a charge long enough, and I wanted one like it that was battery-powered instead. Ten programmable buttons is perfect for me since you can easily set buttons to keys on a keyboard and use them for gaming purposes, and the battery life is insane; I've only had to replace the batteries twice so far.
Considering that I use my mouse heavily for gaming, the fact that the batteries last so long is impressive to say the least. However, I wish that the MX1100 didn't have the hyper scroll feature. I never use it myself because I need to be precise in my scrolling, and I suspect it is the reason why my MX1100 occasionally scrolls up and down repeatedly in click-to-click mode even within the same notch on the wheel. Still, the only way I'd give up this mouse is if there was a new one like it.
Haven't come across the issue with lag at low speeds. However, from time to time I'll get some hesitation to start after some inactivity. For me that will be when my PC is rendering some video footage that goes beyond 30 minutes to process. Once I come back to check the progress the cursor/mouse takes a half second to respond. This is a common issue I've experienced before with other wireless mice.
yeah i've been using this mouse for bit now and i realize, the handling is a little different from my old mouse since the sensor is almost at the tip of the mx1100. Only moving the back (while trying to select some text for example) will result in inaccurate movements which seem like mouse lag or something.
IridiumVIII, I wanted to if now, after you've used the it for a couple of months, does it seem better than the Revolution? I was considering getting the revo, but the 800dpi made me change my mind towards the 1600dpi laser on the mx1100 ... Also, I don't think that you game allot, but do you think this mouse would be suitable for a casual gamer, nothing hardcore, I just like to chill during the weekends with some FPS.
The Revolution still has a better fit and feel in my hand than the MX 1100 but the button placement on the MX 1100 feels better to me. The Phantom button on the MX 1100 is excellent especially in Vista. I couldn't give you a clear recommendation for this mouse when it comes to gaming. I've seen several reviews that say it's great for gaming and I've seen some that it say it sucks for gaming.
Sorry to hear about the problems some of you have been having with your mice. To this day I haven't had one issue with it. Even with me powering it down when the computer isn't being used.
this mouse is crap..doesnt set up right and logitech wont help me at all.. it wont install and im now getting really pissed off..waste of time and money
I've got this mouse but I'm always having lagging issues with it, it may glide over the desktop fine but when it comes to precise movement it gets pretty sloppy despite installing SetPoint & fiddling around with the DPI & speeds (haven't even started using it for games yet).
I'm almost tempted to go back to my old G5 or buy a Razer Mamba
I'd have to give the MX Revolution the slight edge at this moment ONLY because I've been using it quite a bit longer than the MX1100. Over time that may change as I've been using the MX1100 more and more as of late.
It's never too late to join in. I guess the counter point to that would be that the MX1100 in theory should provide longer use/service because it has replaceable batteries vs. the non user replaceable battery in the MXRevo.
Thank you for the review. I'm a 3D artist who is building a new system and was looking for some reviews of various wireless mice. I have begun working with Video software, Premiere and After Effects primarily and am glad to see you like this mouse for those applications.
In addition in 3D when you may have a high poly/point count, the adjustable DPI could come in useful.
You pose an interesting question. After some thought I came to the conclusion that normal people would probably be just as comfortable using the MX 1100 as I am. Now in the case of faceless people who troll the internet and youtube with nothing better to do than to post ignorant comments [much like yourself] - I'd say that they're better off sticking with the touchpads on their busted laptops. Based on the fact they're neither creative or productive. Thanks for the view.
The mouse was shown in the Logitech SetPoint Windows Interface. What you saw on that screen is what the mouse actually looks like. Thanks for your input
my son just bought a Logitech G5 gaming mouse and he loves it. You can even add or remove metal weights in the mouse to customize feel of the mouse. He paid 52.00 on sale at Best Buy.
thought i clicked on a dave chappelle video. awsome review, thinking of getting one for cs5 editing.... and cuz my wired mouse wheel is worn out.

@reign2575 - Every so often but on one occasion it turned out to be the batteries were going dead.

The mouse its self is good, but if u own a laptop and are lasy AVOID.
The USBs are extremely fragile, and will brake if anything but a spec of dust touches it.
Spares are now scarcer than platinum. (UK)

Heh, I never even noticed those 3 stealth buttons until I saw your video, I'm currently picking one up as my G5 is growing uncomfortable.
Can you assign the 3 stealth buttons separately? I only saw 1 option for all 3 when you were in the program.

The MX1100 probably wouldn't be suited for hardcore gaming since most of those mice have dpi ratings of 1800 and higher.
