  • Wow, I haven't seen this series since its original airing, but down through the years I vaguely remembered the theme song, the Pipers, and of course Rowlf. Thanks for posting.

  • This is why I adore YouTube. I was a kid when this show aired, but I have no memory of it at all, though I remember the comedy of Bns and Schreiber pretty well. Thanks for sharing it.

  • the pucking fuppets show woot

Is cool I never had the oppertunity to see this back in the day:D

  • Rare find. I remember Avery in all the doritos commercials. Never saw him in a comedy act like this.

  • I watched this program when I was a teenager! Too funny.....

  • Some people are describing the musical number as "clean", but it probably just seems that way because everything nowadays is so, well, "dirty"! I miss these kinds of shows, myself.....

  • After the Doodletown Pipers, I had to clean the saccarin off my computer screen . How embarrassing.

  • jack burns is soooooooo annoying and bad. God, his huh huh huh bit is laaaaaaammmmme. No wonder he become a dummy on the crash commercials. That was truly his calling.

  • @dolphinron He was George Carlin's comedy partner at the beginning of their careers ... talk about different directions!

  • I remember this including the DPs singing the theme song and Rowlf. I loved the Smothers Brothers and naturally watched this in the summer.

  • Wow, totally forgot about this show, getting old i guess.

  • I loved Burns & Schreiber when I was a kid. Thanks!

  • The Doodletown Pipers are so...........

    clean

  • "Southeast Asia...Today's area of challenge, change and progress"

  • i don't think it was this show but i remember when i was really little there was a Burns and Schrieber show and i recall at the beginning of every show,Schrieber would make weird facial contortions and stick his tongue out and in quickly making noises. One time i remember to get the audiences reaction, when he stuck his tongue out,he left it out for about 20 seconds or so,and Burns put his finger on it and maunally helped him push it back in. Those would be cool clips to put on youtube.

  • early jim henson...

  • this was the group Teresa Graves (Christie Love) was a member of before she came to laugh in

  • At 2:49, there was a sponsor I.D. {"This portion of 'OUR PLACE' is brought to you by.."}, but it- and the original commercials- were omitted from this "AFRTS" edition. At 6:40, there's a special "Armed Forces Media" PSA from veteran announcer Bob LeMond, who worked for CBS [and AFRTS] for years.

  • This was the 1967 summer replacement for "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR" [Sundays, 9-10pm(et)] on CBS, starring the comedy team of Jack Burns & Avery Schreiber. Avery delivers his impression of the "color bumper" that originally appeared before the show {"CBS presents this program in color!"} at :29; since this is a black & white "AFRTS" kinescope, it doesn't appear here.

  • Got to love those swingin 60's from Television City...!

  • Good to see Burns and Shriver-Heh-uh-heh-uh- heh!

  • Pop Quiz-What member of The Doodletown Pipers went on to star in a 1970's detective show, sugar?
