Man... It pains me to see someone in this state... Whatever it is that's causing this sever mental disability crisis, must be another substance besides microscopic organisms that's affecting the brain and the entire body. That's what I believe.
I'm sorry kgaccount but I have to stand up for us mums. @ waljayo. I'm completely with kgaccount here. It is people like you that don't have any idea. I've never said this before and I will not say it again. I hope that one day you are blessed with a lil boy like James or my son. I hope u are. Really because these children and young adults need love and attention just like every one else. They do feel loved and they do show love. Just in their way. It might be a smile or a laugh but u
Jamey is doing better with the seizures. We have him on Topamax and Keppra, small doses of Lamictal. PRN of clonazepam. Give milk thistle high goof fat foods and other vitamins to help protect liver.
When will we man up as a race and realize that there is absolutely no point in severely retarded people existing. We should abort them as soon as they are diagnosed. They literally have no functional consciousness and cannot socialize. There is simply nothing in there, it is a flaw of our genetics and it simply a waste of one's lifetime to care for these people. It is also a huge burden on society. I hope we come to realize this and not let religious bs get in the way.
@waljayo So you are a biologist who doesn't believe in God. Well, it shows. Perhaps your mom should've had an abortion, because it's people like you who pollute the love in the world with hate and intolerance. I feel sorry for you if you're ever in a serious accident, because you may meet yourself.
@waljayo Have you ever met or worked with someone who has a disability? I'm not religious whatsoever so religion really has nothing to do with it. I have taken a class in my school for two years where I've helped the kids who have little communication skills. But though they cannot talk, they can still show what they are feeling. You have to understand their situation. Some of these people have the purest hearts I know. They don't have hatred. It's people like you that deserve to die.
@TypesEvilAspieEyes Yes. We use 8 lps during tonic cloinc, more , up to 10 if needed. Seems to help during seizures where his O2 drops below 85. It is normally 99-100.
I myself have autism tho it's more of a mild to moderate case of high-functioning autism and I have helped out in a program for special needs children since 5th or 6th grade at my church and I am really devoted to helping out with these kids. I'll be praying for your son :))))
@gigglytacosauce Thanks. yes he is a truly special strong autistic young man. He's been through more pain and suffering than any of us can imagine, and despite ALL this, he has days of non stop laughter and smiles and seems to take life as it is and push through, even with all his extreme challenges. More baffling, he can have tons of seizure activity and insist on still walking his obsessive rontine of up to 5 miles of walkin per day. Just amazing. Nobody can explain how he can do this
If ativan helps stop the seizures, would xanax also do the same? If so, would taking 5 or 10 a day help prevent them at all? I know being addicted to pills isn't what anyone wants to hear for an answer, but it looks like a better alternative than this if it would work that way.
I feel sorry for him and his family. Hope a cure is found soon. Best of luck.
Aww poor sweetie, he must get so confused as to what's happening to him during these seizures...I can only imagine how he must feel not being able to verbally communicate his issues and feelings, but he is very lucky to have such a strong, wonderful mother, family, and nurses that dedicate themselves to him! You are all so amazing, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Give Jamey a big hug for me! <3
status epilepticus can cause death if left untreated, if not death, may cause permanent brain damage, which will make Jamey's autism more severe than it is now.
This autistic person is very interesting, in that, all the challenges are mostly rooted in "brain function". so that tells us there is GREAT HOPE for anyone, especially autistics or persons with ASD, who struggle with mood, seizures or challenging behaviors. The fact is our neurotransmitters, and how they operate and fuel us are something most "professionals" aren't thinking about...they're just guessing which meds will work without KNOWING how the patient they're treating's brain works...
@Seattlecarnut He is a very sweet, severely autistic person. Has his routines, rituals. He isn't aggressive, but has self injurious behaviors. He likes to walk all day, up to 6 hours daily, which is a great stress relief, but sometimes he gets blisters, which then trigger self abuse, and then he's mad he can't walk, and well, I think you get the picture, he's a complex person who requires constant medical and behavioral analysis, but overall, he's just a beautiful person who has autism.
@kgaccount I have a cousin whose son has autism. Unfortunately, I don't hang out with them very often, so I don't know just how severe it is, whether it's mild or severe. I noticed that this guy wears diapers. May I ask what that's about? Does he have incontinence problems that would require diapers?
@kgaccount I've also noticed that he wears diapers. Is that because he wets himself or even messes himself, and needs something to protect the bedding or his pants? I'm 37 yrs old, and although I'm just as healthy as you'd expect an adult to be, I still need to wear diapers.
@Seattlecarnut He wears diapers, he sucks his thumb, he tries to curl up on laps of nurses and me, he's still very infant like in many ways, but then can abruptly change, push through everyone and want to go on a five mile walk or swim all day (supervised and with life jacket on of course). He is really amazing. We've seen him have multiple seizures and then jump up and take a bath, then go on walk.
@plushbanana He has intermittent seizure activity, and possible increase of seizures this week, due to gastrointestinal issue that probably triggered it Thanks for asking. I saw your videos, very informative. Good job.
momohasaids you are the fucking retarded lil prick go fuck your mum but be careful you dont catch crabs or something worse of the dirty SLAG ohh yeah even no she a hoar she dont do refunds otherwise she'd be in grands worth of debt not nice is it you heart less fucking cunt
Wow, how sad. I have 1 child with autism and 1 with epilepsy and I thought I had it tough. What a great job your doing and are an inspiration to all. Thinking of you.
Did you know that cannibus might stop the self abuse. It will most likely stop the SIB and he will be able to do things, like go to public places like the mall, movies, or restaurants., Type on youtube can marijuana treat autism.
@momohasaids thats very cruel to say. were this your child or brother you would not be such a cock. i feel sorry for him and his parents. it would be a blessing if he passed as this type of life is nothing but misery for all involved, but your cruelty is what is retarded. not the poor boy. fucking asshole.
@momohasaids I am glad you are unemployed. And I wish you the very worst for the rest of your odious, insignificant tiny life. I hope you die quite soon but very slowly and in intense pain. Unanaesthatizeable pain. That would make me happy.
ive been suffering seizures for 3 years when i got into a relationship with a girl my seizures stopped casue i was so focused on her but now that i broke up with her they came back cause my mind isnt steady focused on something just suffered another one :( right now ,once someone said in the past the deepest part of our souls is made from the deepest part of god ,that man was later trialed to be killed for such thinking from christians back then i cant remember who:(
@MrGernademan You need to see a good doctor, a good neurologist who will listen to your needs and treat appropriately. There are some very good neurologist out there. Find them.
Wow watching him seem so sad. My son is autistic but is not as bad as yours is. I also suffer from seizures and for a long time they told they were fake because they keep not activating them. It was all caused by menigites, sorry if I did not spell that right. Now they have been recorded as real seizures. But for suffering that long with out really any help my brain is not the same as it was. I will keep him in my prays. Hope you find help before its to late.
Has he been to see a Chiropractor yet? If not, do it. My adopted little brother is autistic and my mother and I are both Chiropractors. There is definitely neurological interferences. Chiropractors specialize in removing these interferences. I assure you that specific Chiropractic care will improve his quality of life. Good luck and God bless.
GOOD NEWS ALERT: his seizures are getting fewer and fewer. He is currently on Keppra and Lamictal. Max doses. These seem to be good drugs. lamicatal good for tonic clonics. Keppra is good for myoclonic type activity.
Interesting...I agree, raw juices! As for walking around, he's breathing easier, you are right. Probably because we are releasing endorphins and decreasing cortisol...when we exercise....thanks for insight.
Greetings ! Iam an instructional assistant at a special needs school . I was just wondering if your son can benifit from using a VNS ? Vagus nerve stimulate .
