BTW the 1'st cable sounds better (didn't check the vid B 4). Sounds brighter & more bouncy =) Probably the 2'nd cable rolls off the highs & compresses it somehow it seems.
630 volt 'fast' caps from Solen (Canada). Give 'em a try =D It's like washing the air clean of some additional layers of fog & krap U get with alternatives. Very clean!
The best sounding guitar cable is very low-end stuff with teeny tiny center braid, & thick jacket (almost like video cable) with foil shield & no braid on outside. Hard 2 describe, but basically like non-braid video cable but fine wire @ center instead of solid like F cable. The main thing really is 2 have aluminum on 1 lead & copper on the other. They even out each other's problems & the result is super clean =) Same goes 4 speaker cable.
@DEI305 I don't know =( If U like, I can send U the cable & U can compare it 2 the 'fancy' stuff, & return it 2 me after U find a place that makes something similar. I'd check the Asian MANUFACTURERS & American bulk-cable distributors (U know, who sell big reels with no ends on them).
As 4 mic cables, 'star quad' works well =D I haven't tried a lot of variations of mic cables as what I have sounds better than others I've tried. I should look into improving that 2 N E way - who knows! =D
@DEI305 BTW: B warned, the thing makes noise when U move it around, with heavy distortion (gain) N E wayz. It's more 4 recording, but does sound noticeably better than those all-copper braided varieties. & it's not a bass roll off issue or something. The mids & highs R certainly more clear. It's like when switching from all copper speaker wire 2 something that is aluminum on 1 of the leads. That 'cheap junk' red/silver pair looking 'zip cord' stuff is actually very awesome.
@DEI305 I've tried lots of things, perhaps that (I don't remember - just that what I had was better so sold all the rest). Seriously try & track down something like the photo I sent, but with aluminum foil instead of coper braid wrap =) It's noticably superior to ALL 'conventional design' guitar cables I've tried. Same thing goes 4 that cheap-azz aluminum/copper speaker wire (1 lead is aluminum, the other copper - NOT mixed). I like Solen high voltage caps 4 speakers =D My 2 cents ~;-)
