As sad as it sounds, I would just got back to Windows XP because theres something obviously wrong with the 9550 ati drivers and Vista..because I got a Nvidia 7600 and it fixed the problem..but I would recommend if you went back to XP, I just formated yesterday and went back to XP...good luck ;)
Yeah i have no idea eather, so i just went back and got a new Nvidia 7600 GS 512mb, and I tried it with vista, and it works fine, i just prefer Windows XP right now, maybe in the future when most the bugs are out of Vista, i shall go back to vista =)

You should boot up in safe mode or use the install disk to do a system restore. Restore to the point in time right before you installed the ATI drivers. This did happen to me once with my ATI All-in-wonder (though it was with Vista RC 2).
Get the latest graphics card drivers through Windows Update and you should be fine.
yer it wont install the drivers that come on the disk unless the card was made compatible with vista. so you'll have to use the ati driver for vista that works with almost any ati card.

i dont think there is anything wrong whit ur video card. try to put more GHz to ur CPU in BIOS menu try that that usually helps

LOL At Smash in the BKGND.
My HD2600 give me the ATIKMDAG error when I try to play HD-DVD or Blu-ray movies. it sucks that you can't even get Vista to be stable at all.

I have the same problem. I own the 9550 and Vista crashes after 15 minutes of use, now I have to use Safe mode to do simple things.
Any fix to this?

As sad as it sounds, I would just got back to Windows XP because theres something obviously wrong with the 9550 ati drivers and Vista..because I got a Nvidia 7600 and it fixed the problem..but I would recommend if you went back to XP, I just formated yesterday and went back to XP...good luck ;)
