  • Peoples in the video are communist or are fascist yakuza who votes the pro-atlantic Liberal democratic Party?

  • this be china they all be dead

  • I wrote about this in my graduation paper and now I've got the chance to see how it actually looks like, thank you!

  • I believe Nobusuke Kishi was the Prime Minister. Students were protesting because he organised a vote in the parliament without the opposition parties and the US-Japan Mutual Security Treaty was passed.

Even my father can't remember much, he was too young then?

  • But lucky they are still ok?

  • Alas, I have not had any response from people featured in my films or photo's. Most of them are dead by now, or old-aged.

  • Brother Michael happen to the

protesters? They where hurt or not?

  • I don't believe so. They had permission to demonstrate. I didn't see any wounded.

  • Brother Michael: That really takes me back! The Zengakuren Student Federation in Japan staged protests against the visit by President Eisenhower using the technique of running in waves on the street. It was very difficult for the riot police to stop or control.

  • Didn't know you were there at the time! We might have met. The clip is part of my documentary film on Japan in the fifties. You give some interesting background information I forgot. Thanks

  • I was not there. I have never been to Japan, but in USA a radical student group tried to use the same tactic at a demonstration against nuclear weapons, and I did attend that.

NYC cops are far less gentle than Tokyo police, and the demonstration was forcibly broken up.
