im doing this same monologue for an audition, personally I am going to go much slower, it was fun to hear the stylistic differences in the same piece, nice job on the memorization- i was following along :)
Thanks for the comment! You read my mind, for I would like to do it again, but much slower. I had made this clip in a hurry one evening, had to use the first take, for the Director had to have it right away. The next day when I saw it on YouTube, I did not like how fast I had spoken, and planned on re-doing it. Then my friend with the video camera moved out-of-state, so I have to find someone else to film me! Good luck on your audition. I think this is a great monologue to use. I love the humor!
You talk really fast sometimes, so your words kind of run together and get hard to understand. Your diction is pretty good tho so good work on that! Also, great job on not reacting to your one memory slip!
One more thing, when auditioning, try doing monologues that you can relate better to the character. If I remember, Mabel is a young woman, therefore it is more difficult to get into that character, and, as a result, portray what she is trying to.

Yes, about the speed of talking, it's one of those things where someone wants you to send a monologue immediately, and you only have time to record whatever you can, then send it immediately. Afterwards, you notice that it's not exactly perfect, but you have no time to re-record. But I critiqued myself the same way you did!

Just in case you're looking for some tips,
