  • Any UK Afropunks out there, give me a nudge. Want to hear you.

  • I love this Documentary...

  • well, im a punk, im white, and im dating a black girl, cant label that girl, but i do know i love her dearly, she knows who i am and how i am and what i believe, shes even came to my bands practice, she said she likes us, probably being nice but to some degree she likes punk, maybe one day she might join the movement, either way i love her...idk exactly what im getting at here but i kinda wish there were more afropunk bands and just people, or just more bands and people in general :)

  • You keep the afropunk move ment alive...keep the the street alive with your muisc

  • I WANNA SEE THIS BADLY

  • im black and i listened to punk since my early childhood. to me, punk is more than just "anarchy" or "anti-establishment," it a way of life. i have and will forever be part of the culture and what pisses me off the most is the fact that people would prefer that i should listen to rap and r&b or eat kfc, drink grape soda or follow any other black stereotype. you know what

    FUCK YOU!!

    PUNK'S NOT DEAD

    OI OI OI!!!

  • @Jerkycrane

But KFC is good food, like soup.

  • @Basedeath yes but it shouldn't matter if u r the only black/asian/white/hispanic person at a gig

  • im sick of ghetto thugs who listen to hip hop wear doc martens and dress punk yrs ago u tease blk ppl who like rock. fuck hip hop fuck snoop dogg

  • fuccck rap music all ghetto urban sucks!!

  • Hurr durr snowflake syndrome. These problems only exist in the mind.

  • even though i'm not punk, i think it is cool to see blacks in a way that will pose as out in left field with others. i'm a black woman and i'm a metal head rocker and as far as i'm concerned keep ROCKIN PUNKERS \m/ v^^v \m/

  • 0:29 to 0:37 any one know what song this is? I have been looking for a really long time.

  • I'm the only Asian at punk shows, do I give a fuck? No.

Fuck this shit, it's just perpetuating an unnecessary division of race.

  • Punk is Punk and race shouldn't matter, I agree with those comments but being 35 and having been the "different" girl since Jr. High ( I still wear Docs and I have blue and purple hair and I have a CAREER lol) But I think this documentary is a good thing because 99.9% of my friends growing up were white males. So not only was I the only black person, i was the only girl. It's just nice to know that you're not the only one, sometimes when you're young it feels that way.

  • i'm from meriden, ct. no doubt, i can relate to be the only black person., still i was at home.. thank you new haven & ain't nobody seem to even notice. oh the scene back in the day.......

  • ... Boo-hoo I'm the only black kid at the show...

I'm usually the only black kid at the show... But guess what, TRUE punk doesn't give a fuck.

    FUCK AFROPUNK

  • i think documentries like this do have a point but still people shouldn't separate music into different genres cuz of race

  • @hettybearpig It is necessary to keep a cultural identity.

  • i just think everythin should be multiracial cuz u should never b judged by race it's like sayin every1 with blue eyes like country

  • I don't see the whole point in "afro punk". Punk is punk, skin color doesn't matter, if you're black and a punk then you're a punk, no need to segregate it and call it "afro punk". This whole thing makes me cringe to be honest, and I'm black. I understand the whole "we're a minority" and "were unique" bit, but to label yourself an "Afro punk" instead of just "punk" is fucking stupid. Stop worrying about "being the selected few" and up the panx! Oi!

  • @Khold90 Exactly, that's why the creator of the entire documentary left it because, he's really just creating more segregation because he felt like he was a minority in punk because he was black.

  • @skulldrix How do you come to the conclusion that blacks acknowledge that they are punk and embrace their blackness while doing it causes segregation? if you want to talk about segregation then why do we have an Irish holiday why are their polish, Italian, Greek, Chinese cultural FESTIVALS andHOLIDAYS since America is multicultural isn't this separating people? why is it when black people come together for a common and cultural cause it's considered segregation? just wondering?

  • @Khold90 It would be beautiful to believe this, but it seems as long as there are discrimination against black people, gay people and other people, it's hard to live by the peaceful vision of us getting along. I once thought of punk as a sort of safe haven for those put-down, those who feel alone, those with a message or those who need a place to belong to. By this, I guess you can say that some punks truly miss the point when they cut other people out of it.

  • all the afro punks i know listen to both hiphop and punk but they prefer the socially aware hiphop compared to that generic commercial shit

  • This is great -Its how Hip Hop was in the 70s-Kids just doing what the fuck they wanted, and not giving a fuck - its the generations after that that get fucked up by marketing, and being told who this music is for,and what they should listen to.Cherish this beautiful group of black free thinking people because you can bet the corparate sharks are watching, and as soon as they figure out how to sell this "scene" to the masses they'll rinse it out.

  • black people made punk music.. BAD BRAINS RULEZ

  • im surprised my parents accept me for listening to punk, rock, and metal :P

  • wat bands are in this video

  • FUCK THIS DUMB SHIT! SKATE AND ROCK HARD!!

  • whats this..i didnt know there were even people in the world that felt the way i do.im black but i didnt think there were many black punk rockers in the world...i heard about the festival..i shud go this year..find a black girl that i find intrest in..... =) brown sugar hear i cumm...lol

  • How cool is this? YEAH!

  • @MUN7005

I used to get angry about these kind of comments, but they're just getting really fucking funny xD

  • @MUN7005 U mad?

  • @MUN7005 how does it feel to be a fucktard?

  • @Beach101

White Panther Party weren't racist, dude. LOL

  • Look's like a lot of people were asking. So the song at 1:29 is Stiffed "What You Gonna Do"?

Santigold used be in a punk band.

  • @teaze10 Quote from Kurt Cobain: " I like the comfort in knowing that the Afro American invented Rock and Roll, yet has only been awarded or rewarded for their accomplishments when conforming to the white man’s standards. I like the comfort in knowing that the Afro American has once again been the only race that has brought a new form of original music to this decade, hip hop/rap. .. P.S "You just like to feel guilty for being a white American male" yes im black !

  • @teaze10....1# no if you're the only person of your own kind there, then that's punk rock, it's called Confronting your Mortality, both races contributed to rock and roll buddy ,we done it all, punk rocks dead, now days it's just a bunch of recycled and reused idea's coming from the left (whites) Quote: From KURT Cobain "What i Like"

  • We need more afro punks. I'm honestly tired of loving a genre that champions racial and gender equality but is made up of 85% straight white males. Rap and hip hop aren't bad things, but I think there needs to be more blurring of the lines of what's considered "black" and "white" music. I think black and white people should be able to keep and be proud of their heritage and culture, but if we're ever going to be truly equal, we need to have more things culturally in common.

  • @invadercheeze i hate the fact that modern blacks say they like rock and roll but still they listen to hip hop not saying anything is wrong with it but i always felt that it was more to it then hip hop i would get criticized for listening to white music i mean dude its more to it than listening to somebody getting killed or you get purp by the pound and goose by the 5th or fuckin a bitch or getting money come on we get it black ppl dont do too much but im just saying come with a new topic

  • @invadercheeze and i couldnt agree with you more cheeze to be honest i always like punk rock but really wasnt in to it but a few years back i really started to get hip with it im not a poser i still rock girbaud air jordans and polo but deep down inside i know im punk i can be an ass and a jackass at that i can be a daredevil like bam margera and ryan dunn r.i.p. and all those other guys except shoving a toy car up my ass which i will pass on that but i do agree wit u on unity though

  • im black and i listen to all kinds of music and they laugh at me becuase im not like them non of them or openminded

  • Great; more utube music wars lulz i like it ALL MUSIC IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE WORLD

  • REMEMBER THE BIG BOYS MOTHERFOYERS! START YOUR OWN BAND!

  • I don't give a fuck to the people colour man... Punk Rock is your mind, your soul, not the skin colour... Remember the Bad Brains? Is the first Afro-Punk band of the history, and, for me, one of the best punk bands of the history... "Anarchy and People Power, brothers 'N' Soul"

    Super Jpunk, Brazil

  • what a fucking waste of humanity

  • who cares black/ white blah blah can we just have a day where we(everybody) can just go listen to music and have fun with other people that we all can somewhat relate to damn..you say you want "change" but then we get it people want to complain about it at the the end of the day people are selfish

going on for decades..woodstock lollapalozza to now flipping.. warped tour just another music festival where people can have fun..either way if you dont like it dont go

  • Honestly...if you weren't born in or before the 80s..you cant REALLY understand this concept. Younger black kids(1989-1990+) still act like every cop wants to sic a dog on them like it was 1958..or everyone is hating on them for liking vans shoes and smashing pumpkins. The wars over kids...you never seen a burning cross..and being "punk" or "metal" or w.e isn't a SUBCULTURE anymore..its POP CULTURE...you can buy it at the mall...so stop acting like you have it any harder than white kids :(

  • @padatak I was born in the 80s, so I guess I qualify as one of the people that you describe in your statement, but, to be quite honest, teens that were born in the 90's face the same prejudice. You have to take into account the different types of neighborhoods these kids live in. Usually, in a majority African-American neighborhood, the primary choice of music genre is hip-hop/urban, so when there is one kid that says they love Marilyn Manson, they catch crap for it in increased volumes. Js...

  • @Peridium .. Famous rappers say it's OK to "act like a white boy" and it's OK to dress like one to. Like you said "the primary choice of genre is hip hip/urban"..and if hip hop/urban says it's OK...then it's gotta be OK lol.. I mean I don't know if you pay much attention to that side of things.. but BET plays skateboarding shows and rappers sponsor skate teams...all I'm saying is..things aren't as harsh/complicated as they "used" to be...for younger white...or black kids....ya ya peace love w/e

  • @padatak I'm pretty sure that it's very different for people in different environments. Essentially, just because BET says it's "it's ok" doesn't always mean everyone follows that. Unfortunately, people are very ignorant of things like that, regardless of what they see on television. Hell, I still see and experience some prejudice from other "rockers", but hey, what do I know? I'm just a high school teacher :)

  • @Peridium true...im from the south...the jena 6 took place not to far from my house...a friend of mine down the street had a cross burned in her yard when she first moved to my neighborhood. Maybe I'm just sick of hearing the sob stories when everything is pretty happy go lucky these days besides a few bullies at high school but hey boo who but hey...least you responded with a well thought out response besides blurting out how many cool bands you like and how there "should" be peace on earth :)

  • There are no limitations on humans other than the ones that we make for ourselves!

  • never forget!

  • i cannot stand rap. unfortunately, being black and going to a majoritly black school, that makes me weird. I hate lil wayne and i am in love with musical stylings of little jimmy urine. it kind of helps me to know that my friends who listen to punk/metal dont think color matters. most people dont. i love mindless self indulgence, paramore, evanescence, my chemical romance (like 4 songs), and many other rock artists, but i still like a wide variety of music. and my mom hates me for liking rock.:)

  • @evilkittymewmew Well I mean I like ALL types of music. I don't like wayne either. You think it might just be the type of rap you listen too? You should give P.O.S. (Purexed), and Lupe Fiasco a listen. He even has a band called Japanese Cartoon (whose album was amazin + free).

And I beg to say Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge was a great album

  • Can anyone list all the songs in this trailer?

  • Im black but i pretty much almost never realize majority of the time Im the only black girl in my scene haha......I guess im a lil white washed cause i fell right at home when i go to shows. well actually "mexican washed" cause i live in California and majority of the scene out here are hispanics haha....But in reality race shouldnt matter dealing with punk....Punk has always and always will be non discriminating, People are the ones who make things complicated and bring "race" and shit into it.

  • @teaze10 U'know what man I agree with there I've notice in the last two years of High School a lot black people have been wearing stuff that is associated with rock fans but alot of people have been doing that recently.Guys and Girls wearing AC/DC shirts and Nirvana shirts when their not even fans. And to answer your question about where Im from its Illinois. When Party Like A Rockstar came out I had a friend that started doing the metal sign and she's wasn't a metal fan.

  • @StraightPunkEdge93 where i live in phoenix black kids dress white and white kids dress black.

  • @teaze10 Dude what hell are are talking about before party like a rockstar came out that was the Bad Brains and McRad and D.H. in the Kennedys

Party like a rockstar didn't do shit but make a lot of black people do the metal sign and stop saying "niggas" the use of that word by black people just demeans our culture

  • Music doesn't have a color/race. Its just music its not hurting anyone...

  • @Electircteen16 Unless it's R.A.C., but that shit sucks anyway.

  • @teaze10 Uh started decades before that and mxpx being punk is a huge fucking stretch

  • I'm mixed black and white and growing up I couldn't really pick a genre of music to listen to. I mostly am a grunge listener but I've come to realize that I enjoy a broad spectrum of music because it's OKAY to. It doesn't hurt to like Alice in chains and Erykah Badu. Or wu tang and Peter Gabriel. Or even Brazilian funk and j-pop.

  • whats the first song in the trailer?

  • not all black teens ( well people in general) are in R&B.

I remember a time I use to be a huge R&B fan, but then one day I just got sick of it. I got sick of hearing how a man did a woman wrong, how a man is sorry about doing said woman wrong. I hate listening to R&B nowadays, the only R&B singers I listen to is Lyfe Jennings and Chrisette Michele. and of course the Neo-Soul "trio" - India.Arie, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. Other than that, you can have all of those other singers. ( rant over)

  • i dono about you but im cool with any other punks i run into...and i use to bar hop in mexico and even the punks out there would talk to me lol

  • If the is Afro punk is because they do not feel accepted by the majority of punk people, Sometimes they do not say “black people are not welcome” but there are different ways to make feel black people like that.

  • Why is it called afro-punk? just because the fans and the band are black? 2me it should just be called punk. If it had straight African music melded w/ the rock then it would be afro-punk, but since it doesn't contain african music (except the roots of rock is African) it shld just labeled punk. .

  • It really isn't PUNK if there is no EQUALITY.

  • I'm Indian and grew up Muslim. I identify with a lot of this, because I've always felt more at home at shows than anywhere else. At the same time, there is always this lingering feeling of alienation you feel everywhere you go when you're different from those around you.

Side note: the song at 0:29 is "Dance in Blood, Pretend it's Snow" by Ricky Fitts. They were from my home town and ruled. Also, this film features the only footage of Matt Davis (of Ten Grand) I've seen outside of live footage.

  • whites b;lacks , punks,skins,mods,rudeboys unite!!!!

  • uhh in the bay area scene theres a few black kids nobody really stares or anything cause it isnt that weird the fucking bad brains were black so hahha

  • this is my SHIT. afro punk is AMAZING

  • great film!!! loved it <3

  • What is that song they playin' around at 0.28 and after?

  • this gives me an identity crisis

  • I can sort of relate to this.. but then again... I don't. Im 27yr old black male and what I see here are some niggas who listened to "party like a rockstar" way to many times I got into rock n roll at the age of about 19 if you can't remember wearing your straight legged levi's, rock out belt, wallet and chain, to the biggest hip hop gangsta rap club/concert in town and getting ripped on by all "da homies" because "you trippin" and you dressed like "dem white folks" Then you ain't on shit.

  • I'm a metalhead not a punker I'm Spanish not black but I think it would be awesome to see more black guys and gals at a metal show. METAL FOR EVERYONE

  • WHy doesn't BET put something like this on their network? SOmething positive, that isn't out to destroy black people? BUt no, that would defeat the entire purpose of the industry.

  • @windrix1 yea i know this would go against their plan for young black people lol

  • @windrix1 they don't want to, they want to keep black people in a box as if the only thing they are capable of is ignorant repetitive hip hop or raps. BET is looped; the same topics, same lame music, stereotypes day in and day out, so yea ur right about it defeating what the owners want, which is to ignore positivity

  • @windrix1 because its punk... and real punk never gets publicized.

  • @windrix1 I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this statement. I agree more diversity on BET would be good, but honestly peoples taste determines the market not vice versa so if more Blacks like rap/hip-hop then that is what they will show. Also, I fail to see how PUNK is anymore positive than rap, r&b, metal or anyt other form of music. As a Black man I embrace all types of music, although I can only take country at certain times.

  • @windrix1 Maybe it just doesn't sell.Real punk never did.

  • @windrix1 U'know man i used to wonder the same thing. BET is just like MTV its meant to appeal to the masses. They don't give a shit about people like us.

  • nice. i wanna see some black people with down ass spikes and mohawks. you would think punk is mostly a white thing but im mexican and growing up i always saw mexican punks and there was always a heavy mexican punk scene. its pretty big here in phoenix az. im happy to see theres still a punk scene.

  • i wish i could watch this whole thing on youtube. I pretty much relate to this. As a half-black/half-white whole-punk fan...i was always the token colored guy at get togethers and other black people look at you like a race traitor because you want to do your own thing and not conform to a genre of music that intellectually peaks at the description of a 9mm and a bag of crack. (exceptions of course i.e. the roots)..its good to know someone out there explored this. I'm very proud & feel less alone

  • @jstarang1 It's on google video.

  • this seems strange. I mean punkrock has always been against racism and separation of races; it's always about misunderstood kids of any race, having something in common, and having something to say, united as one voice, so why should there ever be a classification for black people in punk? the name PUNK itself should already mean: revolutionary youth of all different colors and races... last thing we need is a term to divide the punk movement which is all about unity, does anyone understand me?

  • @jpzeitlin yea ur right..but i don't think that's the intention here...i think they're merely tryin to bring awareness to the fact that and the stereotype amongst those that dont know anything about punk and assume, hip hop is for blacks and punk s for white people...i don't think it's a seperation because they're just showing wat u dont usually see...black poeple's involvement and contribution to the scene that's all. I think it's totally positive and educational...glad i came across it!!

  • Punk was actually a bit influenced by Reggae. You like letting everything go.Be who you want to be and not give a fuck.So yeah punk is for anyone who is smart enough not to care about what others make of them.xD

  • @MrK33D4Y no dude i think ur thinking of Ska which is a mixture of punk and reggae kind of like the police or catch 22 or Less Than Jake

  • @crissangel586 i think he meant the attitude's of england's punk scene and jamaica's dub/reggae scene were like cousins because they were inspired for the same reasons...not musically, intellectually. Johnny Rotten spent a great deal of time in Jamaica with dub artist Big Youth and cited him as an influence on the sex Pistols first album.

  • I actually enjoy being the only black girl at punk shows hahaha. Its usually me and two other black guys, dats about it but its cool. Shouldnt matter cause the punk community should be united as one anyway.

  • this remind me of my favorite band bloc party <3 , i feel the same way the ppl in the doc, i just hate the fact i can't be myself around anyone (black or white) because am not following some stereotype. Rock on to anyone who's like this.

  • I think it's fantastic that many black people are involved in the punk rock scene. Punk, in itself, stands out. We're all different so we shouldn't be outcasting blacks just because of their skin color.

  • @ ATMofAnubis, I see what you're saying but scratch the "trend" part...

  • what about bad brain their black

  • There' a grand opporunity for independent film makers at God's Water Entertainment Television.

  • I know it may seem like I'm spammin the comments section (and I apologize), but the doc is on Google Vids... at least that's where I watched it about 2-3 months ago. You should still buy it though, good stuff. Show you friends.

  • I finally watched this documentary a few months, and just remember the trailer is up. I felt like some of the people were misguided on what it meant to be punk, and that seemed to take away from their sincerity (even if they were 110% for real), but the doc was great. That first song haunted me for weeks (Boot by Tamar-Kali I believe). I identified with several of the punks, and I sometimes wish i could just drop out and start a band. I only have 2 years left though, so I'll just wait :)

  • can i direct you all to Death's "Freaking Out"? black punk from 75..cant put up video responses, public access etc...nowt to do with the florida band...

  • i would hang with them

  • We need the trend of Afro-punk to build up and so it can put a hole in this 'gangsta' mentality of rap/hip-hop.

  • @ATMofAnubis i agree pleasee

  • um is there a certain...black punk accent..they all seem to have it..sentences start with "Like"..;)

  • my comments are all love..

  • this isnt new. Black punsk have always existed since the beginning of punk. It's just that media didnt cover it all.

  • just goes to show, even black people can be punk. i once asked a kid at school what he thought punk was. he said, and i quote, "a bunch of little white kids playing electric guitar."..........WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!

  • Watch my video. it will blow your mind away!

    watch?v=j7I_eFoIk64

  • it makes sense that punk wuld awaken her tribal african roots. punk is so raw, real, primal..

  • the website afro punk has it on sale......

  • anyone know where i can watch this online?

  • netflix has it on instant play

  • @labrat420 Google is your friend.

  • Whatever color you are, if you pull up your pants, you won't look like a gaytard!

  • I like Hip Hop, R&B, and now....I like Punk Rock.

  • werd em uP AAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA

  • wtf

first rule of punk is to accept ppl who are themselves

so i dont how these guys dont get accepted?

    they must be vimticmizing themselves

  • @QuoteMe93 I'm pretty sure they werent excepted by their family, or other blacks, or their home community, and they went to and were accepted by the punk scene.

  • Black rockers, metalheads, punkers and new wavers, UNITE AND MAKE YOURSELVES KNOWN!

  • iNGE STA TI OVO?

  • k first of all i iz white. so i wonder. do most black kid who like rap really like it , or do they like it just to fitin with other black poeople ?

  • That's a wonderful question and my answer is: They do it to fit in. I went to a 90% black high school and, just like typical teenagers, they did things to fit in and be accepted with their peers. Unfortunately a lot of those things were negative.

  • @JacobDeadman i mean like ALL white kids listen to metal so they ALL must like it, RIGHT??!? your "well thought out" question IS FUCKING STUPID, K!!!!

  • @JacobDeadman Good question. But you can also ask that same question to white kids in rock or any other music and culture.

  • wats that song at :36

  • Wow, finally,REAL black people.

  • I remember being the only 1 or 1 of 2 black guys at metal gigs back in the 80's, so this is a very familiar experience.

  • I really like hip-hop but i dont know why i cant stop listen to punk like Mindless Self Indulgence

  • Whats wrong with that comment?

  • @fahuem1 The word "now". Point made.

  • what band is that playing @ :30 seconds?

  • that is Ricky Fitts. the song is called Dance In Blood.

  • thanks you very much =)

  • no problem dude. (=

  • hey, who is that playing at 1:27?

  • @drewhadou

Santigold's old punk group Stiffed , song "What You Gone Do".

  • i'm a black person in this situation as well, always the only one.....but i never once thought that it was worth making a whole doc'' on it....ever.....interesting though.

  • Yeah I feel you on that one. I'm a black woman in a situation where all of my black friends(except one) hate rock or pop music(personally I like all types of music) cause they think its for white people only. I told them that they should broaden their horizons all they said is that I'm bougie(a black person who acts white). It's a shame because they're the ones who aren't gonna go no where in life but be a stereotype.

  • Yeah I agree. I think you should listen to the music and just have fun with it. The 60's is a prime example. Jimi Hendrix The Chambers Brothers Sly & the Family Stone Ritchie Havens Otis Redding & many others didn't seem to have these hang ups and neither did the White Bands of that era. The Rolling Stones The Beatles The Yard Birds Santana Jefferson Airplane The Doors....etc... People need to stop segregating & just have fun...the world would be a much better place to live in then.
  • Shows in Los Angeles have a handful of black kids. I used go to shows in South LA, Watts and other traditionally black neighborhoods in LA and white people were always the minority if they came to those shows at all. Those shows had a predominant Latino crowd with a good number of black people.

  • I ordered my copy, can't wait to get it!

  • This was a great documentary. At least watch it before you wanna go and criticize it.

  • Love that Forbes Graham was in this.

  • in the six years ive lived in Chapel Hill, NC ive only met two other black kids who were into punk and one of them only lives there because he's in college... and i know of third, but she moved away....

  • I'm in raleigh, consider yourself lucky, over here it's wasteland.

  • This problem isn't as bad in Black cities like Detroit so I guess I'm lucky.

  • well I would imagine as a White person you would need to see the movie to see where it has it's place. Afropunk isn't about "fuck White people" opr whatever (even though you guys still bought Ice Cube's albums when he said that) it's about being a minority within a minority. even people besides us can identify with that. everybody needs to see this movie once or twice before they die.

whether you're a Black golfer, a "wigger", whatever...you will get something out of it

  • Punk should be a culture for all of us! White, Black, Asian etc!! There isn't any difference about us! We all have got something to complain on Society :)

  • @Orklord90

Exactly...punk is about energy and attitude, not about color.

  • could someone tell me where i could find this movie?

  • online thats the only way i found it

  • @kronolhrosx2 Google is your friend.

  • fuck man......

i mean NO disrespect, but please come to long beach ca. and youll see some real punk/ hardcore scene, here we unite with evey living thing....

    peace, (E)quality...

  • Socal in general

    (south bay/ LA/ OC/Long beach)

    the punk/hardcore is diverse

  • very diverse...especially in LA since the early 80's

  • I'm kind of divided.. The black presence needs to be acknowledged, but fuck man, I live in Brooklyn by choice, I'm the only white kid on my block. I don't feel the need to assert my Europeanness. All my co-workers are black, and I go to their parties largely unfazed. Then again, there are ignorant whites and blacks... the main thing is to COME TOGETHER. I thought this was going to be more on bands like Bad Brains...

  • Comment removed

  • I will be listening

  • Like said before me, Punk knows no colour! Race, heritage, colour doesn't fucking matter.

  • Agree with you punk is a state of mind any color should be able to be a punk you punk

  • Haha yeah!!
