  • I like being me too!

  • LIFE IS A BOXING RING... GET THE F*CK IN THERE AND SWING!!!

  • people are mean. Stick to the people you trust and try not to expend too much energy on those who would detract from your experience. Youtube is definitely a huge negative in this way. Find your niche and stick within it, you can't change this fundamental meanness. Best to avoid it I've found. You deserve to enjoy yourself without all the shit this invites. I don't agree with some of your conclusions, but noone deserves this degree of flack. Minimize your exposure, and let the rest pass

  • @sonick808 NO!!! DO NOT MINIMIZE YOUR EXPOSURE!!! DO NOT PRACTICE AVOIDANCE BEHAVIOR!!! STIR THE SHIT WITH A BOAT PADDLE !!! ITS FUN !!!

  • Hey, stop talking like that! Your delivery is just horrible and stands in the way of your message. Anyone using an audio-visual medium such as YouTube has to realize that the medium affects how the message is perceived. As Marshall McLuhan said "the medium is the message"!

  • what a poof who likes art

  • You know, I enjoyed this video much more than all your others. It painted you in a more human light, rather than an arrogant christian evangelical one. And I actually saw a different side of you that I am more capable of respecting. I love all the points you make in your videos, but I HATE your delivery.

  • you're a genius.

  • It's refreshing to see you in such a natural, extemporaneous context, but then you're refreshing pretty much all the time in any context, so it's hard to disambiguate...

  • "It's like we still haven't progressed beyond the expectation that we should change who we are to appeal to a mass audience" - that is a very valid statement. Apart from that, I think you're giving too much credit to your commenters...But I guess that would mean that you're giving too much credit to humanity, and giving credit and consideration to humanity, even its most ugly or small-minded portion, is quite a noble gesture.

I like the way you think and speak.

  • @WastedYouthCrew1 can I shave you bald and put you in a zoo?

  • A beautiful person.

  • your off slant mouth I find to be an incredible turn on , and I have to remind myself I'm straight.

I've been under heavy anesthesia for emergency surgery twice and my experience was floating in a black void for months or years, even though it was only hours, and eventually it led to floating through a dark tunnel.

so through my experience - I have to agree with you, I can not comprehend nothing or a sudden gap in the passage of time.

    I can not comprehend oblivion.

  • I too am amazed and baffled by the amount of fury directed solely at your appearance. I guess I've led a sheltered life, being a white hetero male with more-or-less conventional looks and manner; I've never seen so many consistently bigoted and xenophobic rants directed against a single person before.

For what it's worth, I find neither your looks or your voice off-putting. Your measured, calm tone makes your presentations all the more compelling. Keep it up, your insights are needed.

  • i also wonder what nonexistance feels like. i knew i wasnt the only person who thought about it.

  • 0:01 - 1:45 is exactly why i think Christianity was created, ppl dont flame or troll its just my personal theory.

  • You're polish, aren't you? n.n Just message me with a yes or no. You just look polish and I want to know.

Also: I like your example on things that piss people off. It's funny just how easily people get angry at things that "don't make sense." It's like my friend says: "There are two reactions to illogical things. Laughter and violence." And it's so true.

  • Not to say you are illogical, but when logic is clouded by bias, people tend to see things that have obvious reasons behind them to be illogical. And it makes them angry.

  • I would like to say that I loved the "surplus of hate" idea that was brilliant and I'm going to steal it. :) One thing about facades: isn't the makeup actually a facade? Is that not hiding the "real you?"

  • Can't please everyone! Can ya! I think it's very important that you are ZJ! You are you. You are real. The true McCoy. That's what people that hate you, hate you for but also that's what people who love you, love you for and the latter one is something very, very important.

  • I like you being you because you brighten up my day when I watch your videos ^^ Oh, and the lipstick looks great! I wish that I looked as good with lipstick! hehe, peace <3 x

  • @hawke123

Any specific examples? I'm not sure he is the smartest person on YouTube, but probably the smartest person his age.

    idk :)

    (don't I sound so smart?)

    LOL

    Peace

  • I'm more interested in what you say than how you're saying it. However, if the topic has been raised, I might add that if your script helps you be clear (which you are), then I'm thankful for it. And your pace helps to build the proper momentum and force. If I miss something, I can rewind. Keep up the good work, ZJ. It's important.

  • while i don't agree with anything you say(I'm a straight Christian, you're a gay Atheist), I subscribe and watch your videos because they make sense (not agreement), they make me think and question my faith, a test if you would like to call it that. I respect you as a person and as an intullectual, and even if you do use a script, that just means you're more organized and pre-meditated then most, please reply back, I would love to have a friendly debate with someone of your intullect

  • so you have a script...thats okay by me. perhaps one day you will write it all down and publish a book?! it will have a place between dawkins and hitchens.

  • You are probably the smartest person on YouTube

  • @lowcarbonlife :

    Far from it.

  • I think it's easier for people to contemplate "what it was like" before they were born, rather than what it's "going to be like" after death.......essentially the same thing.

  • You seem cool the way you are.

  • I still believe in the Celestial Library

because it's just too cool a concept not to exist.

A library... with EVERYTHING in it...

    *sigh*

  • Very, very true!

I love all your videos, keep up the good work!

  • You are an extremely logical person, and I think that's awesome. And yes, its discouraging to know that there are so many idiots out there who can't see past the most trivial things, but remember, there are smart people listening, they're just a little "quieter". And I actually enjoy your fast paced delivery of thoughts, its brain exercise, very stimulating.

  • I was pondering about this last night. Have you ever seen the film Waking Life? There is a scene where they talk about death and they mention that when you die there is still some time of brain activity (assuming your body wasn't destroyed), and research with the chemical DMT suggests that people think that they are seeing god or moving to another life but in reality your in a dream-like state, for what may seem like years. What it's like after all activity in the brain, who knows.

  • Lovely Zach. Do you have a lover?

  • The idea that someone can't imagine the absence of their existence is something I fail to comprehend.

The experience of experiencing nothing, easy concept. I Lived that experience for most of my life, and continue to create it every night I go to sleep to varying degrees.

Seen the question many times, "What is it like to be dead?", and every time I've been dumbstruck by the lack of imagination this sentence demonstrates. Ignorance and close-mindedness abound.

  • You're awesome and you're my hero.

  • rofl I commented on another video saying you seem too stoic, but disregard this previous message ;)

After watching a couple of your videos, I personally think (even though it isn't much rofl) that your video is pretty intructive, and as someone below said: "Far more interesting (...), and more is done in less time. " XD

Your vids are great, because we (as viewers) don't spend hours of our time listening to random bablling and incoherent thought ^^' Good Job! =^^=! *Nya~~~~~~

  • They probably like how your lips move, and wish their girlfriends had such lips

  • I really enjoy your videos, i think 95 percent of what you say is highly intelligent, and all of it's entertaining.

Although, it is quite evident that you DO read from some sort of script in your other videos-Which is totally fine, Ideas and opinions are more important than being Impromptu. BUT, i just wish you would not try prove otherwise by making an improv vid. I personally think your well structured and revised videos are far more interesting to listen to, and more is done in less time :D

  • the purpose of why youtube was made, WAS to have these type of videos, so why don't YOU shut the fuck up

  • Youtube as a hobby, ZJ getting old

why mr. Antolak don't talk about his boyfriend(s) so now he fuck everyone up

  • in posting this message, didnt you do exactly what you accurse Zj of doing? express your opinion, try to get Zj to shut up because you think he should. think about it

  • VITRIOL...lol I LOVE your vocab! LOVE IT. I hope you do something great with your life! You are so unique and genuine....and a thinker an actual real life gay THINKER. It's not that I don't think gays are smart. but most of the gays, of those who have achieved even just the slightest kind of fame always seem to be the sort that are swishy, superficial, fashionista-type that do nothing but have vapid conversations about the Cult of Celebrity.

  • Your mind is so fine - and I know you are an atheist , of which I am NOT - neither am I a deist, but when I listen to you speak, with such cutting logic and laser-light reasoning, I am compelled more than ever, that there is a intentional MIND, behind all that is, and it proves its existence through the words you speak -

You are a sign that the human race is truly evolving ! !

  • You are so pretty; and your words are great. Don't EVER quit. And I have naughty dreams about your lips.

    Retson, your secrete admirer!

  • But it's not secret if you tell!

  • Well you inspired me to comment--I really do like your vids, lipstick or no ;) The "haters" are real, and there are a lot of them!! The real issue is at the workplace, where "not fitting in" can be a real career limiting move. Promotions (hence raises) getting good projects, etc. all mostly depend on schmoozing skills rather than actual merit. Until corporate america evolves, I can see where a lot of people would choose to keep work and "alternative" sexuality separate.

  • I had to post: The ratios of haters are skewed and deceiving; normal people simply don't post that many comments.

  • Earth has been rotating around the sun for 'god' knows how long with out any extra push or force aside from the gravitational pull of the sun and its original inertia. a macro example of perpetual motion. the "free" energy that guy was talking about is called zero-point energy. Its not free but its damn close. And if youre the oil companies whats your motivation for allowing this technology to be released? :D just a thought.

  • can you talk about 911 zj please ...your mind is great

  • 'so many that you can rely on it'

I've been dealing with this for years, I just try not to think about it anymore, it reached a dead end really. Still feels unsatisfactory that environmental factors are to blame over the course of people's development. I believe Ihad the prerequisites tobe a decent person at a young age. Though I've always looked at children fondly, teling myself they're blank slates with the potential to stretch my expectations of human beings.

  • Yeah, I don't get people why say things like "If you stop dressing like/acting like/doing that, they'll stop hating you" as if the problem lies with you being yourself and the hate is justified. It's NOT! Keep doing what you do, I enjoy watching your videos. :]

  • In West-Europe, the link between people broke. You can not say that it is not so, because you do not know what it means to really talk with someone which only you knew, and to get to tell your whole life to one another.

That is something very common in my culture

  • Its nice to find videos made by someone who has the ability to express herself clearly and interestingly. I find the peurile, homophobic remarks made to you, especially when peppered with pseudo-pious god-talk, offensive, but also typical.

Thanks for introducing me to "transhumanism" as well. I had not heard that term before, and am reading up on it now. Based on what little I know now, I think you might like the novel "Spin" by Robert Charles Wilson.

Don't let the knuckleheads get you down.

  • you remind me of wendy from the adams family. and i mean that in the nicest way. n_n

  • the way your lips move? the hell? just about everything you say i agree with.

  • had to favorite this

  • man i luv this video u talk about things like this that i think to myself but dont tell anyone since its hard to say but u do it well 5 stars

  • I agree with what you are saying. There is nothing wrong about being who you are or doing what you enjoy. Mankind is so dead set on their own vision of society, that anyone who is or acts different becomes the target for their aggression. It's wrong.

  • Your videos are great. Your perspective isn't just wanted it's needed. I have no doubt you reach many people through all the sludge.

  • For the most part I think if he does write a script it's only to make sure he has everything in order. I don't see how that gives you a "gift" you're either good with words or not...Morgan Freeman...Now THATS a man with a gift.

  • 1 there's nothing wrong with reading a script as long as you wrote it

and 2 there are people (and i wouldn't be suprised if ZM is one) who have the gift of language.

People who degrade to baseless insults are stupid - and that's a based insult - people insult because they don't agree and don't have the mental acumen to respond in sufficent manner. Also people see the outside in tints dictated by their internal state.

  • ZJ*

  • yea lol everytime i watch ur vidfeos(which i think are great btw) i always notice that ur lips move in a weird way...im not going to start a war over it but just pointing...i also notice that i always find myself thinking the way u talk or express urself (not the gay part i mean ur views on the world or humanity) but i can never get myself to talk in that way

love ur vids keep posting ZJ

  • I agree - whether or not you wear lipstick is not on my list of concerns, especially not the priority list. ;) And how horrified would people be if they knew just how many people in the world were wearing at least lip-tint when perceived - the horror!

  • Thank you for being you, because true individuality helps us all. Janna

  • One might argue that's not how cod intended you to be so it isn't you. We just can't win.

  • Awesome.

  • wow you think a lot about what other ppl think. but i do agree with you on the hate. there is a lot of it i get it all the time so i fell you.

  • I really really like that (paraphrased) "your experiences come from being alive" bit. It reaches a level of depth that I think a great lot of people have difficulty comprehending.

I can't believe I missed this video for a whole 6 days or so. Love your videos, all of them. ;-D

  • being right or wrong is relative anyway, isn't it? i like this vid alot. my mom made me unsubscribe to ur stuff, but i'll keep checking by anyway. seems like when we watch u work, we should see u building rockets or healing the sick...but it's all good, right?

  • fuck your mom

  • I love watching your videos. Your statements are always so true, yet they are always so simple and easy to grasp. Actually I haven't disagreed with you even once.

I find it odd though that so many people comment on trivial things like how you dress and talk etc. I don't think that matters at all. And like you said, you're only being you. There's nothing wrong with that. I like the way you are, please continue being true to yourself.

Wow, I sound like a stalker, but I hope you get what I mean.

  • It's so easy for people to spew out repulsive and vulgar things online when they don't like you because they don't have to show their face most of the time. Most people are angry, but most people also do not have the courage to voice that anger in the real world. The internet makes being angry so convenient. I personally like having manners online AND offline. I don't think anyone could ever take anything I say seriously otherwise. Everyone should realize this.

  • Good vid. What's with the fake laugh at the end?

  • Comment removed

  • I enjoy your videos. I enjoy the thoughts you share with us. I really like the style of this one, but I have no problem with your other delivery either. :) I think you're great.

  • I enjoyed this, you should make more in this style : )

  • The laughter at the end made you look like a madman. But I love you.

  • Speaking for myself, I don't find the idea of my non-existence at all baffling.

In fact, I can no longer understand why someone might see anything strange or incomprehensible about the universe "outlasting" them.

That's not to say I have no fear of death. I think there are plenty of reasons to be afraid of it, just as one is afraid of losing one's senses, one's abilities, one's power of thought. (*What does it matter* whether or not you experience yourself without these things?)

  • I share many of the same feelings AlephNeil. They idea that so many Christians (I was just on a site that claims this) believe that the most important part of christanity is to avoid going to hell and getting yourself and your loved ones and fellow man into heaven. If there ever was a heaven I would slap the god, whichever it was then say "Good show, hear hear, tit-for-tat. Jolly rogers!" Thats all I know. Other than that. I don't find logic anywhere near religion.

  • You're so cute. I just love you, your videos always mean a lot to me :D

  • I cant agree with chicostacos4 more! (and i tried) thank you!

  • Firstly, this video was beautiful. The ending made it. You are beautiful.

Secondly, I like how your lips move. XD

Finally: I always figured you read a script because your eyes catch something while you're talking and then re-focus on the camera. This happens regularly when you're talking into the camera.

  • Aww, woman... you're a tease! Why didn't ya share with us what it is you are enjoying at the end of your vid?

  • Well, you're likable the way you are! You have GREAT thoughts-keep up the good work! : )

  • I didn't have any pain or concerns before I was conceived so I suspect I won't have a concern or pain after death!

  • another great video. good work ZJ

  • ZJ: Now you are maturing.

  • I think you are just cool as you are.

  • Your bit about angry people is so true! Angry and rage seem to me a normal trait for some people. and yes there does seem to be a surplus of hate, as if that is all they know.

Any time there is a conflict or perception of unfair event, a portion of people will automatically suggest a violent course of action. I could never understand that line of thinking.

another portion of people will suggest cheating or "fire with fire" action; this was lost on me too.

  • What is that rattling sound in the background?

    Otherwise, good video.

  • i think this is my favorite video from you :)

and yes, so many people are superficial, and only want to like/ talk/ be friends with people who look/ talk like them. and anything different, they make fun of or try to destroy. its good to be yourself and not hide behind a mask people want you to wear just to "fit in"

your awesome just the way you are ;)

  • There are also a lot of people, like me, who do like you. Your videos are funny, your arguments are well thought out and you're never, ever boring (about the only sin I recognize as such).

So, whenever they resort to their retarded vulgarities you know you have done something good and make them run out of arguments, so the only thing left for them is bitching about how you look and dress. (Both are fine, btw).

Anyway, you didn't expect morality or sensitivity from religious people, did you?

  • All the girlfriend and myself have to do in order to bring that kind of response, is wear black. LOL We were actually called freaks for just wearing black. I understand where you are coming from, I have been making the same complaint as of late. you seem smart, and kind enough to be in my good book. LOL I have a t shirt that says, "It is better to be hated for what you are, than to be loved for what you are not". and man I am hated. LOL

  • well mainly it's just kids who have nothing better to do than find people on the internet to poke imaginary sticks at

  • good video

  • Don't let them get you down ZJ.

It seems like they really do believe that lipstick and long hair make one a girl...and that's a BAD thing, no less!

The idea that style is entirely cultural has never crossed their minds! I went to school with people like this. They're impossible to reason with. It's just beyond their capacity.

  • great video but seriously, Polo-shirts are just plain wrong, stop wearing them.

  • Polo-shirts are divine garments designed by god himself!

    Yooooooouuu BLASPEMER!!!

  • you would be interesting to smoke a joint with.

  • I find it mildly amusing that some of your videos are starting to carry religious Google ads.

  • Very nice. I'm feeling the love in the face of hate. You go!

  • "a surplus of hate" Well said. I used to judge people for things like how their lips moved or how their hair was cut etc...when I was a child. Fortunately I had a mother who taught me not to be a hate-filled jack ass, unlike the many who comment on your videos, apparently.

    Rock on!

  • ZJ: Just a few further observasions. Get used to the idea that poeple want you dead because you are gay, straight, transgender, Jew, Muslim, Christian, etc. There are those that probably want you dead because they can't stand being in an empty parking lot by themselves. It is not somthing to get too worked up about. It is just part of the price you pay for not believeing in children's stories. I watch your videos because they are interesting; otherwise I wouldn't watch them for 5 seconds.

  • ZJ. i like you for who you are. you are smart, brilliant, sharp and beautiful! those people you were talking about are just miserable and stupid. i'm sure you are grateful for being able to acknowledge that. keep up with your goods.

  • Don't feel bad, there are a lot of us who like the way your lips move. ;)

I like the post were people ask if you are a guy or a girl. Why would in matter? If find the fact that they don't know hilarious, and the fact that, not knowing, they feel the need to press the matter even funnier. Again, how is your gender of any concern relative to what you are saying?

On a side note, what is that odd noise in the background?

  • This was a refreshing change from your usual videos. I *like* your usual videos, but variety is the spice of life, as they say.

It is hard to believe how angry people are about things sometimes. Some argue that the internet presents a skewed view of the world, that the anonymity changes how they present themselves. But I'm starting to think it only allows people to be honest and show the world what they're really like.

  • Please consider the possibility, ZJ, that a lot of the hate comes from very young people. They haven't experienced a whole lot of different types of folks yet. I say, lighten up. You are doing a great job in bringing something of value to youtube and I hope that those of us who appreciate you offset in some way the negativity.

I like this insightful style, but I like the starey face, script reading also. That style lends itself quite well to The Rant. Peace, little brother. Chin up!!

  • About the first part of your video, the paradox of non-existence has always intrieged me. How could existence arive from non-existence and vice versa?

The pattern recognition systems in our brains are hardwired to take many shortcuts, and thus leads to people finding meaning out of no meaning.

I believe any paradox is solvable with the right math, and data with "Turing complete" computation.

However, I wonder if non-existence is "logical" as in it can be solved scientifically.

  • You're asking a question that has no real answer.

  • That's my point exactly. With enough computation, you could emulate a simulated reality such as the Matrix, and you could observe and understand the minute physics of the universe, such as with the Hadron Collider, but why or how existence exists may not have an solution, which blows my mind.

I know what ZJ is referring to is different as ve is referring to an individual no longer experiencing, but it leads me to the same line of thinking.

  • Do things that exist, require an observer to be real??

Consciousness and existence are seperate entities.

  • I'm not denying this. However, what I am saying is for the observer to exist, existence must exist.

I, like ZJ, do not believe that this universe is fine-tuned for life, rather life is fine-tuned to the universe due to evolution and different processes.

Now, what happened prior to 13.5 BILLION years ago has no real bearing on our daily life as we function within the constraints of our own universe, however existence still blows my mind, regardless if some random deity created the universe.

  • Agreed. Existence blows my mind to, and my girlfriend blows my dick. Put the 2 together and all is harmonious and as it should be in my little corner of the universe. (If you drink, don't philosophize, get a designated thinker)

    :-)

  • My experience supporting no life after death 1989 - also anesthesia - not even dimly aware of the passage of time such as there is during sleep.

1990 My experience that would point in another direcction - Waking up, (no dream) in the middle of the night to hear the voice of a close friend as if he were in the room next to me - telling me that he had died of AIDS and not to phone him ( crying) No dream - I went down watched TV for 3 hours after - For me, numbers are not all in. Who knows?

  • ZJ,

The reason for most of these ridiculous and ignorant comments and people is that the country's 'education' system has been so dumbed down for the last 30 years or so, that you're seeing the partial result of that in your comments. These people are morons, trained to be that way, so that the powers that be will have no opposition to their greedy power-tripping. That's all. I'm not surprised by it. So why should you?

Enough - had my say. Rock on do0d!

  • most of your points r real true/ keep em up.

  • Someone explain to me the Big Brother suppressing a free energy source?

  • ZOMG! But teh magnetic energy!

    *sigh*

  • your awesome! I used to care about other people thinking I looked good. But I ended up not liking myself. I've become much happier simply by accepting and learning to love myself.

  • I've added a three part series to your video. I hope you enjoy watching them.

    ~DunZero

  • love ya :3

  • I obviously was'nt "brain dead" or I could'nt have posted a comment!!! The reason I posted a comment in the first place is to counter claims about "near death expeinces" that some people claim to have. People who have these are usually not challenged when they report seeing angels, jesus, grandma, etc. People who have cardiac arrest and report that they saw nothing are either ignored, called a liar,or they "were'nt dead long enough!!!"

  • People usually see the religious iconography of the religion they happen to believe in.

You never hear reports of Hinus seeing Yahweh or Christians seeing Ganesh.

    :-/

  • but how do you explain ghosts? because there is plenty of evidence that they exist..

  • What evidence? there is no (atleast by my standards) sufficent evidence for the existence of ghosts, at all.

  • i've watched plenty of shows and i used to play this thing called the ouija board and that stuff really is not fake i swear on my life i could write a book about the weird things that have happened to me after playing that thing. it wasn't coincidence.

  • I don't think scripting your videos is a bad thing, it's still your thoughts and opinions. I need to at least semi-script my videos otherwise I would forget half of what I want to say!

I like you because you seem like a genuine person, and I like how you don't care what other people think of you. Keep on doing what you're doing. ^_^

  • I can relate to being dead because I have been clinically dead. Some years ago I suffered cardiac arrest while under treatment in a hospital. I saw nothing because there's nothing to see. I was an athiest before this happened and I'm still an athiest because my suspicions were confirmed! Be true to yourself always because I appreciate you just the way you are!

  • Did your heart stop or were you actuallu brain dead also. Like no brain activity. Because that is death not just cardiac arrest but lack of brain activity.

  • Same thing with my friends uncle

  • It's impossible to imagine non existence. Ive had anesthesia too and it felt exacly like that :) i can only explain in retrospect because at the time i felt nothing :S lol

  • When I was under anesthesia, there was nothing, and then when I woke up, it was like coming out of nothing. But I was only able to realize it in retrospect once I awakened.

  • That is how I imagine death must be. You don't know any differently because there is no more consciousness.

Knowing that, I'm ok with death, as long as the dying process isn't too unpleasant.

  • my sentiments exactly!

  • Lovely gallery.

Keep being you, no matter what anyone says.

As far as reading a script, It would not matter if you were. You'd be the one who wrote the script, wouldn't you?

I know I script out my videos, and I perform them three or four times editing the best bits together before I do my animation.

  • Why is it in black and white?

  • Because that makes it art.

  • Good work as always.

  • You're absolutely brilliant as you are. I like you for who you are.

  • The thing is, we have all at one point not exsisted; this being the time before we were born. So to me the notion of non-exsistence, while still unfathomable, is not so strange.

You know, it never fails to confound me how some people can worry so much about how other people look. Like these gossip magazines that go mental because some celebrity exhibits sweatpatches, or a spot. Their lives must be dull as shit.

    Wonderful video.

  • That's exactly my view on death. Couldn't have said it better.

  • Death no one know what will happen so I seldom spend anytime worrying about what others might say on the matter. As for those who attack you rather than take issue with your ideas: it reveals that they lack the intelligence and skill to argue with you, so they resort to bullying name calling.

  • You are not alone. I've noticed that any youtuber who gets a significent amount of comments, gets many that are insulting and angry for whatever reason. I would say that it's best to just ignore those types of comments. It's not that difficult to disagree, and still be respectful, but some people just find enjoyment in harassment and insults.

  • How do trolls still exist with people like you around?

  • At the end of the video, did u laff at god?

  • ZJ, I like you for who you are, you're cool

  • Its neat to see you in a different setting. And I happen to like the way your lips move.

  • Great video as always ZJ I agree :)

  • Nice change of format ZJ. Yep- there are a lot of petty people out there.

I think you're just so shocked because you're not petty- you have a strong mind and you use it well.

    Keep it up! :)

  • You're fantastic, ZJ. Another part to death that is disconcerting to some is the unknown, coupled with the idea of not existing. Not only is it unfathomable to some that one might actually cease to exist, but also that nobody knows for sure what will happen to the consciousness when one does die. Being certain, even if one's wrong, is a rather steadying thing. "Everything's going to be okay." Though, that assumes anything but what you think will happen isn't okay. *The mind boggles*

  • Please keep doing what you are doing. You are a star!

  • Non existence is hard to comprehend... You're right, we can't really imagine it. I guess dreamless sleep is a close second.

  • I love you for making great videos on youtube.

I dont care how you look our how your lips move.

It's the message that counts not the looks of the messenger

    Greetings from the Netherlands

  • ZJ I think you know this but are people are petty they have to find something to have a problem with to raise their self-esteem. It's a reassurance that they are right and you are wrong. Regardless who is right, it boils down to they cant accept who you are and have to find something to justify themselves at your expense or your moral lose. Its quite sad, but your cool no matter what. Rock on Dude!

  • good video

  • I just watched a video about death. This young girl, about 18 or so, had recovered from an accident involving brain trauma. She told about her awareness of profound change due to this event. She had difficulty with the idea that death might mean the end of everything, no postscript. It is interesting to listen to people who have suffered from "near death" type trauma. I don't know that there is fear, but at the amazment that there is a lack of fear, the fear being in anticipation of nothingness.

  • I attribute the non-comprehension of "nothing happens" when you die to low intelligence; kind of like how racists usually have low IQ's.

  • I've been pondering infinity lately. You can sort of imagine non-existence (unless you believe in re-incarnation, I guess), since you did not exist before you were born, or perhaps even sometime after that. However, think about living forever. You would have the time to look at every single atom in the universe an infinite number of times. Maybe even get to experience the rebirth of the universe an infinite number of times? Infinity is scary. Much more so than non-existence.

  • Also, I think people hate on appearances and the like because your message scares them, and they can not form a coherent argument against you, so they just sort of take a default position and spew hate.

  • This I will be greatly anticipating, Deryk! I think it could be your greatest video ever.

  • i think sometimes the masks people wear are as real as the person themselves.

not necessarily if they're conditioned to be the person people want them to be. but that doesn't mean they're not themselves either, then, it just shows they can succumb to something like that. which is them.

    .....

    blah.

  • correct.

  • Materialists obviously have no trouble comprehending the nihilist eschatology, because that's their conventional perspective, but they obviously do have trouble comprehending idealist perspectives. In order to have a truly informed point of view on this subject, it's necessary to read deeply and study all the major perspectives, both East and West.

  • You're a pretty neat kid. Thanks for posting your thoughts ;o) And keep being you. Diversity creates dimension in our world, yes?
