  • Wow....well done. ..wow

  • killer vocals, jesus fuck. good job

  • muy bueno!!!!!!!!!!! te felicito te salió la raja!

    AWEOSOME

  • Wow!

  • Holy f**king s**t that was amazing

  • Dude, this is awesome!!!!

  • Wow! Soundgarden is my favorite band of all time and I normally don't enjoy covers of their music this much. I never thought I would have a reason to say this, but let's hear more of your covers.

  • I believe the Lows are you, Highs are very much cornell. Prove me wrong by posting an actual video...

  • @bgpjr1989 The whole audio is me. No trickery or editing done here. This was actually done on cassette in one take and then transferred to CD. I do have another actual video that I did later with some former bandmates. It is on my channel if you want to check it out.

  • For those of you who are questioning whether or not this is really him singing. It is. He's my uncle. We karaoeked together a few times, and he would always blow everyone away, especially with Chris Cornell songs. I remember him singing "Like a Stone," and I absolutely could not tell the difference between him and Cornell at all.

  • @JamieandDaddy Hey there! :-)

  • @captainahnee What's up Daniel? I hope everything is good. Shoot me an email sometime and let me know how you're doing. :-)

  • Supersweet vocals, I'm glad you recorded this and you have my sincerest respect. Regarding your self described "guitar playing sucks" if you had a better pickup in you acoustic it would make a WORLD of difference! I'd strongly recommend aftermarket pickups by K&K and Sunrise for acoustics. I'm an experienced luthier of 13 years and under the saddle pickups though convenient for manufacturers, suck for performing and recording.

  • @bridgeplatepuller Thanks! On this recording I was actually using a Tascam cassette recorder and crappy little $20 condernsor mic from Radio Shack. The delay was from an Boss digital delay pedal through the effects loop. I transferred the recording to CD later.

  • your voice when it hit,s your tha closest i have heard,,,awsome,,,,,,awsome,,

  • This is so so GOOD!!!!!!!! Amazing vocals, I am seriously impressed!!!

  • I honestly did not believe that this could be good. Turning one of the greatest doom metal songs of all time acoustic just did not compute with me.

Boy did you prove me wrong.

  • I think thats chris cornells vocals....

  • @expressingmyopinions Then you are an idiot.

  • Outstanding. Very impressive. Congratulations. It's just perfect. The lows, the hights and the vibrato. And your voice timbre sounds very similar to Chris.

  • Awesome work dude!

  • acoustic attempt? either you're just too modest, or its just for lack of a better word (cos you fckn nailed that shit!) good job :)

  • Damn, this is totally incredible. You could go out and sing with Soundgarden. Hope ur singing in a band; if not, there is no reason why. Hell, create ur own band; with a voice like that, u can get a great instrumental backing.

  • It's funny, the turnaround sounds a LOT like Bad Company - Seagull.

  • Impressive. Great job :)

  • HO... LEEE.... CRAP! Put this on iTunes and I'll buy it man. WOWOWOWOW! Seeing them at Red Rocks on July 17!!! Hope they play this song. Awe-some man!

  • HOLY motherflipping shit!

  • 12k views!? you're amazing!!!

  • Holy Jesus dude...

I was considering doing a full studio acoustic version of this, but now I don't know if I should. I wouldn't be able to get anywhere near this level of awesome vocally. It might be a bit silly of me, but I might ask for your help to get it right.

    I am in awe sir

  • You are amazing, this is first cover of this song that I like.

  • Hey dude great vocals ,simply amazing ,i'm speechless

check out FOLLOWINGTHEOMENS'S version of the song you sound more like Chris Cornell he sounds more like i dont even know ,someone with a really high and powerful voice singing a Cornell song ,same song different styles, different pitches, different in general ,but both sound awesome ,pretty sweet you guys are by far in the top ten of most talented people in youtube hope someone finally discover you guys

  • I couldn't hear the guitar over the sound of your awesome voice.

  • "An acoustic attempt at this song. My guitar playing sucks." Stop being modest!

  • where are you from? I've got some studio work for you in Ct.

  • You know what you should cover man, you should cover Say Hello To Heaven, ahhh man that would be something worth to watch, hope you do it :)

  • My God, this is impressive! For the benefit of everyone here who wants to sing like this, could you explain your technique? It's spot on, and you don't sound strained at all.

  • @PerryMason321 Practice, practice, practice. Basically finding your range through vocal exercises. Finding your highest note and controlling and especially limiting the amount of air you use. Pushing causes strain. The example is a balloon. If you blow it up and let it deflate all the air comes out at a low, fart-like frequency. But narrow the opening and less air comes out at a higher pitched squeak. Something like that.

  • dude I seriously thought this was Chris singing.

  • Comment removed

  • I signed up to Youtube just to give you my compliments man. This is far and away the best cover of Cornell I have ever seen. You nail pretty much every part of this. Absolutely awesome. Keep up the good work!

  • @IAwake1989 Thanks! :-)

  • Damn. This is amazing.

  • this cant be real, if it is your fucking amazing

  • @hawkinsx33 It's real. Thanks. I have another version with a full band on video that I'll eventually upload.

  • Wow! Impressed!

  • very impressive!

  • For how "amateur" you're saying you are, you still have a 4 octave range! That isn't common for someone to have that.

  • holy shit man fuckin great voice

  • Jesus what a voice man!!! Congrats for you voice... i hope you can show you voice to more public

  • Fucking great cover!

    Keep on rocking!

  • Fucking AMAZING. Completely unexpected from a YouTube cover, great job

  • man.... you have a much higher range than me, both for Cornell and for you, that's no easy feat (even cornell rarely sings this live)

my sincere congratulations and keep on rocking, hope someone grabs the attention you deserve

  • Good god !!!! You have nailed it mate!!!! You sound just like Cornell in his early days, before his voice diterioration...You keep rocking!!!!

  • great powerful voice and right on tone You better have a band...

  • dude you rock. most of the people commenting on this head voice, chest voice nonsense don't know what they are saying. Chris used head, chest, mixed and falsetto.

I love your covers. Thanks for them.

  • A superior cover

  • what software do you use to record with? i plan on attempting a cover of your cover soon. :)

  • A'right mate, it's Tommy here under another account - I should really retract any comment I made about you not using the full chest voice 'cause you're SERIOUSLY fucking belting it out on this one! I forgot you'd done this cover too! I'm going to start a rumour that you're actually hiding behind the amps singing onstage when Soundgarden play live and Cornell's just miming......Ha! A'ra best!

  • @HypeNapungra LOL! Thanks Tommy! :-)

  • good joob, nice mood in your songs..

  • Great Screamin' Ghosts son... thats bad ass!

  • are you still in that band sonic freeway? where are you from? is there anymore of you? we need a singer who can do that!

  • Amazing vocals, very powerful.

  • This cover is full of awesome. You, sir, are awesome.

  • You really sound like god damn Chris Cornell.

  • W0W...Gr8 j0b!!!

  • nice voice

  • been wishing for so long that chris cornell does a acoustic album from his soundgarden temple of the dog days and I think you made it come true

  • good work man!! intensely difficult song to sing, for sure. i try constantly :)

  • pendejos, se parece a su voz, pero OVIAMENTE no es chris.

    AWEBO te la rifaste weeeee

    SOUNDGARDEN FOREVER

  • JESUS CHRIST!!!!

Mate, i didnt think anyone else didit like that.

    a gift

  • fake

  • LOL! Fake? OK then I'll take that as a compliment I guess.

  • u should dude cause that's how much u sound like Chris badass Cornell!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • is this chris cornell unplugged???

cause damn dude u do sound like him specially from 1:06 to practically the end!!!

  • ever thought of going on american idol

  • Excellent man !!!!

    Bravo

  • After telling you I just get very very impressed with this, because I was waiting for something like..a guy with..normal guitar skills and a terribly bad voice (like it's almost all the time) and I just heard this.. ok, now, I'm asking you for some advice, I'm a 14 year girl who never took lessons on singing, and been singing for almost 2 years, my voice has a deep sound and I need to know how to work on the rock technique, could you help me? once again GREAT

  • Thank you for the praise. It took me a lot of time and practice to find my range and work on my tone and control. I also had the benefit of a friend who took pro voice lessons and helped get me going in the right direction. So if you can do it, get some lessons and gradually develop your technique that best makes use of your natural gifts.

  • I just have one question for you ,how can you sing falsetto with that much power in it ?

  • Took A LOT of practice, finding my range, learning to belt properly without pushing, and just being really relaxed and warmed up to sing well enough for that particular recording.

  • great singing ,I'm really impressed

  • how is it even possible to sing that range? have you taken any singing lessons? been singing for long? I like my tone of voice but I suck at singing.

    awesome job

  • Thanks. I've been singing for about 15 years now. But only more recently developed the rock falsetto. I have a friend who took pro voice lessons and is an excellent rock singer. He helped me out with my technique. I have to say I love your user name. Ultimate Ginger Balls?

  • Dude, wtf? You sound pretty much just like Cornell. What are you hiding? lol

  • Heh! Thank you. :-)

  • Damn

  • Amazing job! Have you ever thought of trying similarly difficult vocals to such Soundgarden songs as Cold Bitch or Nothing to Say?

    Keep up the good work.

  • fucking awesome!

    great job!

  • NICE JOB!!! YOU SOUND JUST LIKE CHRIS

  • haha BRILLIANT!

  • Good stuff. Posting it on my facebook page.

  • Good job*

  • one question, ARE... YOU... CHRIS... CORNELL? lol this was absolutely epic

  • This version is damn good but all the copmaprisons to Cornell are ridiculous. Cornell had WAY more power, feeling and conviction when he hit those notes. Not to take anything away from this performance but this guys voice is more "opera" sounding. Nowhere near as epic as Chris' in my opinion.

  • ala verga, te la rifaste men!

  • incredible dude, my congratulations........ but i must to say a respect to Chris Cornell, nowadays he cant sing like this guy cause his 45 years old, but he always be one of the fucking kings of 90,s sound ever

  • it isn't just his age, it's the also the heavy smoking and drinking

  • GREAT JOB!

  • Fantastic! VERY impressive!

  • Comment removed

  • Let's hear you do it then...

I agree Cornell is the best.

  • you know what

im sorry man, you did great

i just have trouble when somebody comes close to his kind of performance

    keep it up

  • as a matter of fact ill delete that comment

    sorry again, great job

  • What he does at 2:02 and 2:49 with the vibratto is pretty damn impressive to me. I smell jealousy.

Must we knock down everything that tries to rock us?

Good just with the cover captainahnee.

  • Thanks! :)

  • hey man you rock too much!!

wich technique do you use to reach the highest notes? is it a falsetto?

  • I agree. I practiced my voice on some of the same tunes. You fucking rock man - in mega monster manic overdrive man, kudos! geezzz.-..

  • Hearing this, reading all the comments below here, I can only say; Yes, you nailed this, and yes you are very talented.

  • If this really is you.. than i must hand it to you and say that your even better than Mr. Cornell

  • great job. I doubt Cornell can do this nowadays.

  • Amazing man, excellent job, keep it up !

  • This is an absolutely sick cover. You even have some of the nuances of chris' voice that are so unique. Absolutely sick

  • Doesn't sound like cornell. More like eric adams from manowar in early days :D (1:40 -->)

  • gotta say, u sound just like Chris Cornell, absolutely incredible, it truly is.

  • The guitar playing in this song is really not what everyone takes real notice of. Its the vocals. Good Work.

  • Holy Crap! Good for you with that voice!

  • holy shit man!

I have been working on this myself and this is no easy task.

    you nailed it!

    well done :)

  • dude, your voice is insane, amazing!

  • this is absolutely amazing. your voice truly is a gift.

  • HOLY SHIT, where did this come from?...i can't believe i never came across this before. HUGE props on all you covers .Peace.

  • WOW. Incredible. You sound nearly as good as chris live. Really well done. Second best performance I have heard of this song (Chris being number one). You did it justice.

  • i love your work.. please give me add

  • this shit is straight up insane...well done bro

  • Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan fuckin tastic man!!!

    awesome work!

  • holy shit, this is fuckin' awesome....

    im speechless...

god bless you (and your voice)

  • Had no good expectations whatsoever, when I saw this... But this was seriously one of the best covers I've ever heard..

Although the guitar could be better :P

    But your voice compensates it.

  • Impressive!

  • never thought anyone would pull this off. Fantastic!

  • awesome stuff mate

  • mind blowing. again.

  • Awesome very well done ,great vocals!

  • cld you put these into mp3 form? id be honoured to have these covers on my ipod.

  • Damn man!

I held off watching this for so long because I feared it would be a cringe-worthy attempt at such an amazing song, and yet you pulled it off amazingly!

  • Goddamn...I hope Chris Cornell takes your acoustic interpretation of this song and makes it his comeback song after he's done with Timberland.

    Great job

  • wow

this is so fucking great !

    more soundgarden covers haha

    rock on man !

    respect

  • exquisit cover man. The vocals are pretty tight and the quitar isn't that bad either.

  • holy shit dude, that was amazing, not only the incredible singing but the sweet version of the song, killer. I hope your in a band making some serious grunge music, puttin that voice to good work

  • You're good. Perhaps a little TOO good.

You'd better start watching your back buddy.

Chris might send a hit squad after you.

This town ain't big enough for the both of you.

  • omg, when the high tone part began I thought you took Cornell's original recording

    it sounds so good

    great great work!

  • fucking awesome!

  • very, very, very, very impressive buddy. such a good tone on ur top notes, no strain and yet no wispy head voice sound, love how u mixed the registers aswell - very smooth. ddnt think this song wud work acoustic, but amazing job!

and hey ur guitaring is better than mine :P

  • i can't believe,what a great performance!!!good!!

  • Wow...That was phenomenal! Cudos on that vocal work my friend. Covered rocks greatest voice, and did it very well!

  • THat was awesome. hardly anyone even attempts this but you showed it can be done.

  • Fucking Awesome

Better of this music live on the Soundgarden shows...

    the voice is Perfect

  • In response to Sidhu's comments... the hard part is achieving it. Everyone is born with a certain vocal range. No matter how many hours or techniques you put into vocal performance, your range will not change greatly. As for vibrato... if it doesn't come naturally, don't force it. The vibrations in everyones voice expels at different ranges.

Hey, if anyone can sing that high, get out there and do something with your life NOW!

  • Totally false. You can absolutely increase your range. Before I took voice lessons, I topped out at about E below high C, and that was a strain. I took lessons and figured out how to mix registers, and I can now hit an A above High C, in full voice, with power and vibrato. It's all about figuring out how to mix your chest and head voice.

  • woow. better than cornell! (the new cornell)

  • This one dude did great. His voc performance was awesome.

I've actually learned to hit Cornell high notes just recently.

People! The hard part isn't achieving it. The hard part is controlling it and keeping constant once you've hit notes that high.

You just have to push yer voice. Do it. It'll work.

I can do vox on songs like Hands All Over, JCP, Rooms A 1000 Yrs Wide, and more. It's so great.

Practice and you will be rewarded.

  • I didn't think this would be any good, but I thought what the hell.. I'm glad I did.. awesome vocals, man!

  • Hey, since Chris Cornell is dicking around with his "solo career" why dont YOU get in touch with Kim Thayill and Matt Cameron and you can re-form Soundgarden yourself. haha

  • funny, i accept lol

  • i know y'all hate me for this but i can hit higher and with more power in beyond the wheel but i just dont got the mic to record it properly. point is, i will.

  • Do it. I wanna hear. lol It's a great song and this guy will be tough to beat.

  • Sounds just like chris! huh! i hope your not fucking with us dude lol!

  • Hey Cap'n!

    Awesome vocal work, my man!

Form a band, write some stuff and find yourself. Music today NEEDS real singers who have range!

  • ok i've heard tons of people trying to cover chris cornell's voice on youtube and this is the only decent one...especially with hard fucking vocals like this to sing to. 95%! A+! Good job mister!

  • dude you definitely write your own material or try for a band i don't know.... you have an amazing voice.whts ur band msn space page?

  • But if you have such potential to sing you should record a disk without imitating Cornell's voice.

Besides you are an old man, you do not have future in music too late I seat him but you are a waste and he remembers the life she is good if to if your you want it believing .

  • Huh?!

  • it looks like he used a translator.

  • That's insanely good!!!!!

You did Cornell a great justice there.

  • Hey man, can't believe I hadn't heard this 'til now, after that "Say Hello 2 Heaven" cover you did. Awesome stuff, you've got one hell of a voice. I'd love to see you give another Cornell cover a go, this stuff is great. Cheers, eh.

  • I checked out your myspace and I have to say even though I typically don't listen to that type of your music I thought it was great man :) You have one hell of a voice, please keep on writing and singing ;) Oh, and do you have any tips on finding/improving the head voice?

    Thanks!

  • Thank you. It takes a lot of practice, listening to your recorded voice, and experimenting with your range. For head voice, use less air and don't push. Practice with a tuned instrument to find proper pitch. Rock screams use the same physical principal of making a balloon squeak--narrow opening and less air coming out. How sound resonates varies from person to person. When you can reach those notes then you can play around with holding them and mixing them between chest and head.

  • Thanks for the tips, I will do that :)

That balloon example is probably the best example I've heard :D

  • I have a question. How do you put vibrato on those high notes?

That's what I'm having trouble with.
