  • Instead of a 2.0 liter turbo why not a 3.0 liter turbo? GM will eventually offer a V-6 turbo so why not now? I'll tell you why. Because GM is still the same slow moving company that caused it to go bankrupt. I'll bet Hyundai comes out with a similar, but more powerful, and better handling car before the ATS goes on sale and that the Hyundai will get better reviews.

  • Clean sheet of paper? really? Its a frikkin CTS

  • I'll take a 3 Series please.

  • The constant comparison of this vehicle with the BMW 3 is pointless. I have had two new BMWs. Both were on the whole quite good in terms of handling and "holding the road," but that's about all that could be said of them. I ultimately concluded that the things were essentially drab, madly overpriced econoboxes sold to status-mongering Americans through very clever marketing. I'm disinclined toward compacts these days, but I'll give the ATS a look when it arrives at the Cadillac dealerships.

  • People are talking about Bose sound systems in the comments. great.

  • Is awsome when u see each and evry comapny try to be BMW !!!

  • I love everything about the new ATS except for 3 words:

    Bose audio system

Seriously, Cadillac, get rid of that. There's a (good) reason why other luxury manufacturers are moving away from most Bose Cabin Surround Sound systems...

  • @RCtennis3811 Disagree completely. I actually favor Bose over ANY other surround system. Bose have been known to be the best.

  • @BlackTintedWindows Don't get me wrong: Bose makes great audio systems, but I am yet to see any review (nor hear any version in a car) that says Bose has the best audio systems. Personally, I think Bang & Olufsen, Harmon Kardon, and Mark Levinson all make superior audio systems compared to current Bose Cabin Surround systems.

  • @RCtennis3811 I'm sorry but Mark Levinson makes great sound system, but not better than Bose, Mark Levinson belongs on a gook chinaman car, Bang and Olufsen are definitely not better and my brother in law has Harmon Kardon in his S class , which he says he is not impressed with. Bose stereo > Mark Levinson , Bang and Olufsen, Harmon Kardon ....Bose is American, and Americans make the BEST products in the world.

  • @BlackTintedWindows Buddy, stop...just stop. You essentially lost all credibility behind your reasoning with your "gook chinaman" comment. I *love* being American and all, but that blatant racism you just showed is nothing to be proud of. Then again judging by your lack of proper grammar (B&O is a singular noun), I shouldn't be expecting a rational response.

  • a bit too much bling bling chrome and the rear is still a bit ugly, but moving in the right direction

  • im expecting ATS-V to be the fastest sedan on the `Ring

  • @korvinsnerfable i still think V6 engines suck when compared to a V8. The V8 engine is just better than a V6.

  • ATS is a betting term that means "Against The Spread"

  • @Johnnytotal ATS is a betting term that means "Against The Spread"

  • @sovietcanukistan the presidential cars have all been Cadillac DeVille's or DTS , because Cadillac is the best auto brand, by far, that North America has to offer. Why dont you check the internet? There are thousands of used armored Cadillacs available throughout North America, but it's only for the exclusive people.

  • @UFCextra In America not completely true a certain President Kennedy had an open Lincoln.I checked you internet claim and the Cadillac STS was overed in the UK and it wasn't popular as you suggested. And the BLS is a better looking saab

  • The real test will be to see if they can get Jeramy Clarkson from Top from U.K.'s Top Gear to admit he likes it and it can compete with German and Italian cars!

  • @SovietCanukistan even if it is the best car ever, jeremy won't change his mind. He'll say something rude that he thinks is funny about fat americans not being able to bothered to match the preciseness of the germans and then make up some shit like it explodes when u brake. Once he makes an opinion about an automaker he rarely veers from it.

  • @jmoneyy100 yes, the new 911 is tri-turbo...i hate V6 engines. They're so pussy sounding and mpg concerned...V8 is where it's at. The wealthy drive V8, poor-middle class drive 4 and 6 cylinders.

  • @UFCextra v6? the 911 has a v6,hilarious.

  • @UFCextra I take back what Imsaid about the Porsche having a v6, it doesn't. It uses an inline 6 cylinder engine, however the GT-R does use a v6

  • @Jmoneyy100 porsche does not over a straight six but a flat six clearly not porsche fan

  • @UFCextra The new 911 doesn't have 3 turbos, where the hell did you hear that? And v6 engines are GREAT! The GT-R and Porsche 911 (2 of the most respected cars on the road today) use them instead of v8s. V8s are freakin awesome, but there's are reason that there's more v6s on the road than v8s

  • nice....

  • better than a german carr??!!!muahahahaha!!!NEVER!!!!=))))

  • @onlyje22 Cadillac always is a better choice than a european car, europe is weak and poor, Noth Americaa is the king and Caddys are the kings best automobiles. Your shitty german cars break down almost 2x as fast with shitty build quality, I've owned new Euro cars, the Cadillac has always been so much better. Why do you think the President rides Cadillac and not some shitty Mercedes ?

  • @UFCextra because it would look bad if a world leader especially the President of the United States drove a car that wasn't from their home country (unless said country didn't have a major auto maker) and besides "The Beast" as they call it only LOOKS like a Cadillac, most Caddys don't give you protection against biological attacks or have eight inch armor platted doors! Only the three North American leaders use American cars out of obligation.

  • V6 cars suck, i dont care what it is...a V6 is gay and for the chumps who care about "fuel efficiency" lol...V6 is weak

  • @UFCextra so you think porsche 911 turbo and nissan GTR are for broke ass chumps?? O_O'''

  • @fhhs05 the new 911 is tri-turbo (3 turbos) , and the GT-R has respectable performance #'s - but aside from those 2 - 99% of V6 engines suck ass, I would never buy a Cadillac V6 performance sedan wtf? Cadillac has always made big, heavy, powerful luxury cars - this isn't pussy europe or asia with low liter turbo 4 and 6 cylinders that sound like cheap lawn mowers. America wants V8 Cadillacs.

  • @UFCextra you want that same 6.2 v8 from corvette and camaro in it???hell no, 6.2 and barely produces 400hp stock, that's pretty bad. i would rather have the 6.3 from srt8 that comes with 470 hp.

  • @fhhs05 The LS engines made by GM are world renowned. They are considered some of the best V8's ever made. So no, that's not bad.

  • Pussies, poor and middle class drive V6, the wealthy drive V8

  • @UFCextra What's the point of a V8 when you can extract just as much power from a TT V6? You're not compensating for something are you? You also gain better fuel economy, and a better power/weight ratio. There's no need for a V8 in a car this small and agile. Look for a TT V6 in the inevitable ATS-V.

  • No one wants a V6 , there is already a V6 option, WTF? Please bring a heavy duty V8 to the table instead of some pussy turbo V6

  • @UFCextra Doesn't the GT-R use a turbo V6? That's not impressive enough for you? I hear you about wanting V8s - I want 'em as well - but they're not happening. So we're either going to have to deal with it - or wish we could. You could always buy a GT-R and swap in a V8 if you want...

  • @Collaziano ya, the GT-R uses a V6, but it has the #'s to show for it, 0-60 in 2.8 sec, that's literally the only respectable V6 engine. I say leave the shitty low liter turbo cars to Europe, Asia and South America....let the wealthy North Americans have V8...because we get our gas cheap, we don't pay $8/gal like Europe and Asia. Only MPG struggling faggots look at a V6 engine

  • Fuck V6 engines. It's ALL about the V8 engine, the deep gas guzzling v8 engine growl, and that sense that you dont ever worry about MPG, who cares about MPG? Only middle class or poor people.

  • The Twin Turbo V6 everyone is talking about is actually a brand new 3.0 liter engine code named LF3 and will have over 400 horsepower. This is more than likely the engine you'll see in the ATS-V. Google "cadillac owners group" for the latest information on this and all Cadillac models...

  • @Collaziano Motortrend and Autoweek as of Jan 2012 seem to think it will be based on the 3.6l LFX V6 which is a nicely refined, advanced and proven V6 powerplant for GM. It would make no sense to spend millions in developing an entire new engine that would not have a use in any other GM product. With a TT LFX V6 we can expect at least figures comprable to an LS3 or more if they add the two mode exhaust with the Di and VVT. Defintely an M3 threat

  • @Greendude33 The turbo 3.6 everyone is talking about is the engine in the Ciel concept. Since GM is having trouble with the TT 3.0 LF3, who knows? Maybe they WILL ultimately decide to go with a turbo 3.6 - since it IS a proven engine (naturally aspirated, anyway). However, at this time, those are not the plans and the TT 3.0 is the engine of choice. It'll be over 400 horsepower and will allow the ATS to compete with the M3. The engine is also slated for use in the XTS, the next CTS and Escalade.

  • @Collaziano The engine I was talking about was just introduced to the 2012 Camaro and 2012 CTS... The 3.0L according to reports does not seem adequate considering the new M3 and C63 AMG will be around 450BHP. The Best figures suspected from the 3.0L is 380-400BHP which will just not cut it. The 3.6L LFX with twin turbo's would make more sense as it would produce more competitive HP and torque figures. I would support the use of an LF3 however if they can squeeze at least 450 HP.

  • @Greendude33 The TT 3.0 will have over 400hp. I felt the same - about 380-400 TOPS in the motor until I found out it would have over 400. GM has a 1000 horsepower "four" - so they have the technology to make a seriously strong TT V6. I just wonder how much they're going to detune it for reliability. Modified N54 335i (TT 3.0) engines are pushing 500hp without issue so this kind of power isn't new to these small engines. My GUESS is about 420-430hp for the TT V6 ATS-V - which will be competitive.

  • @Collaziano Cadillac and the V Series need to be more than competitive they need need to set the bar like the CTS-V did in its class, the V's are critical for the new image of Caddy. The V serisons of the Coupe, Sedan and Wagon scored a homerun, so I hope the ATS-V will follow suit and I also hope they offer it as a coupe as well.

I would also like to see them bring the XLR back but have them do it right this time after the launch of the C7 Corvette.

  • @Greendude33 The next M3 will also be a turbo V6. The TT 3.0 LF3 will be at least competitive. GM already said it's not going to "blow the doors off" the competition right now. The vehicles we're seeing now, especially the XTS and ATS, were all affected by the bankruptcy. All we can expect Cadillac to do, right now, is remain competitive until they get back on their feet. Sales of the ATS and XTS will give us a full-size premium flagship and a better ATS-V, amongst other vehicles, in the future.

  • thats the problem Cadillac has always been big and thats what makes the car. I dont want another rice burner like Toyota or Honda. the car that i like is the cts-v that car is still bid and it puts the power to the road.

  • This may sound underwhelming but I hope the ATS-V is a V6 with a powerful turbo. Remember, Cadillac has worked hard to have the ATS be close to a 50/50 weight balance and a V8 might make it too front heavy. Engines have become very efficient and rev higher than ever before. With an efficient V6 in concert with a good turbo they will have power, weight advantage and even better fuel economy than if they went with a V8. I'm sure that no matter what they go with, it will become the new standard!

  • @Jeredin13 Well the ATS-V is most likely according to sources close to Caddy will have a TT 3.6l V6. However the GM LS V8's are extremely light in fact the 7.0l LS7 weighs about the same as the 3.6 DOHC V6 they're going to use.

  • @Greendude33 I'm sure the Alpha platform can handle a V8 and from what "rumors" I've read the ATS-V will most likely have a "6.2-liter 470 horsepower V8." I guess front weight won't be an issue? However, do you think they'll go with a V8 just because that's what most people are expecting? Technology at this point for V6s and turbos have come a long way, but I guess it's not appealing enough? Wouldn't a V6+turbo have better fuel economy to go with it's power? Hurm . . .

  • @Jeredin13 Yes the alpha would not have a problem with a V8 powerplant however the most current information from most automotive sources suggests a TT V6 derived from the 3.6l direct injection V6 from the CTS and Camaro. It will produce competitive HP and torque figures especially since BMW and the rest of the Germans are all moving toward smaller forced induction engines to meet new emmsions standards.

  • @Greendude33 Stupid question: forced injection = turbo/super charger?

  • @Jeredin13 Forced Induction does mean Turbo/Supercharger yes...

  • @Jeredin13 V6 engines suck ass. Leave it to the poor-middle class to buy V6, the wealthy want V8's. I hope the ATS-V is NOT a V6 ...wtf ? Why would you want a V6 !?!? They already have one as an option. I don't even care if you can get the same power out of both, V6 cars suck, V8 cars are awesome.

  • @UFCextra Buyers of Cadillac's are upper middle class to wealthy firstly. And the newly revised 3.6L LFX direct injection DOHC V6 is one hell of an engine and on par with an early model LS1, if GM follows through with twin turbo's it will be a mosnter. It would not make sense to just keep jamming in big pushrod V8's as much as I love the LS series.

Cadillac is in the big leagues again and a high tech DOHC direct injected VVT V6 is a huge statement.

  • @UFCextra continued... The Corvette and Camaro are the only GM cars that should never stray away the OHV V8. Cadillac however is postioning itself with the best from Germany and as absolute badass as the CTS-V is, I would love to see the next gen CTS-V to have 32 valve V8 similar to the Northstar series but if not the new direct injected 5.5l V8 is a great start. I also would like to see the XLR return and done right this time as a true luxury grand touring Vette.

  • Alpha platform is so versatile! I wonder when they make the ATS-V if it will have AWD option? Will Caddy join the 3 sec clubs? Time will tell . . .

  • Love it. I will buy it in Germany.

  • i want it

  • THis is definatly gonna be my graduation gift. Or the 10SRX or the 11DTS

  • Yup , this cars been under development since 08, I read somewhere they actually surveyed several people who own bmw, Benz, and audi, in there cars and in there homes even to find out what they like and don't like about there cars, so they can build the perfect car, so when they say they built a car that can out perform the finest German cars, they did there homeork, and passed

  • Ya, I saw the ATS in a General Motors commercial from 2008...and it definitely was the ATS....what's up with that?

  • Might be a stupid Q, but what does ATS stand for ?

  • @Johnnytotal nothing. its just a name. the same way the 3 series is just called a 3 series, it doeskin really mean anything

  • Can't wait to see this in the showrooms, Caddy.

    Nice work, guys.

  • Praying for an AWD twin turbo or supercharged V8

  • @UFCextra They are coming out with a AWD V8 version!

  • @iGeraldFlixX how do you know this ?

  • Great Job Cadillac!!!

  • @eyekandy19 You are such an incredible idiot the only solution for you is suicide. Just google both cars for a minute before you hang yourself pussy.

  • ATS-V nxt year?

  • @milkphish69 Yes Summer 2013.

  • nice buick regal.

  • @eyekandy19 The ATS is totally different platform underneath.

  • @eyekandy19 Different drivetrain, suspention exct.. Its called built from the ground up for a reason.

  • @eyekandy19 Umm bro, the Buick Regal is FWD, and is an epsilon platform. The ATS is RWD, and on the alpha platform.

  • I drive an S550, so not my segment, but props to Cadillac! After years of stagnation, I'm happy that Cadillac has produced such a high quality vehicle to challenge the 3 series, C-class, and IS. If I had to choose in that segment, I would definitely choose the ATS. If they can produce something to rival my Benz, I will definitely be interested.

  • @lolphayl Oh I'm sure they have a full size (RWD) coming my friend. The zeta II platform will be here in no time! But i love the s class man! Which gen you got? W221?

  • Did anyone catch that commercial about 4 years ago? They show the front of the ats for a few seconds. Goes to show how far cadillac has planned ahead.. The commerical is on youtube. PM if u wanna see it.

  • Anyone interested in the Corvette C7 development check out my latest video on my channel, if you like it and subscribe I will subscribe back! Thanks!

  • Beautiful Work of Art.
