It's now been replaced with the imported "Sterling by Music Man" line that's quite good as well for their price range. Still, I own a SUB Sterling and having compared it to the "standard" line it's 95% at a fraction of the cost (and the SUBs were MIA right next to StingRays and Sterlings but saved production costs with a "flat" finish that didn't need hours of buffing the body and neck out and a "slab" body with no forearm cut - all changes to save labor-hours costs and pass them on).
You encourage me. We use exactly the same hand position on our slap, although you are faster.....which means I should probably push it a little more. Very nice riff and very nice little solos you have. You share my philiosophy on bass solos, too.....get in..get out. 2:30 tops.
Not too bad man. Ever tried out a different slap technique more like Wooten etc? I used to slap straight on like you are in this clip and still do occasionally for really rythmic stuff. But learning better techniques can improv things heaps!
To those who think he should tab it, there's hardly any notes in there so you should just whip out your bass and learn it by ear, get some skills up at the same time.
I do have other videos with some other techniques and I can do most techniques without a problem, I just don't have them on vid. The only one I'm I big fan of is tapping, never really enjoyed doing it. Sounds like you know your stuff, you should put some vids up too, I'd love to see what you do.
is that ur own piece u wrote? if it is u should tab it caus people like me would love 2 b able 2 learn that, i'm 2 lazy 2 write my own stuff! thx ur an amzing bassist by the way :P
Dude you are an awesome bassist. I thought this was gonna be another one of those videos where some retard smacks his bass and calls it slap, but you have some serious talent...thank you for not sucking
hey dude, we got the same bass there :) 1996 musicman stingray eh? I changed the pickguard recently, otherwise it would have been exactly identical :P

Yea, I think it's a good way to go, people don't stick around for too long these days, busy life styles and stuff.
I tested this out when I added that lttle piece at the end of my bass jam 2 vid that you saw, to see how meny people would watch the whole thing :D

No worries, just realised my last post made me look like an arsehole! haha, sorry about that, wrote it when I was real tired.
Check out the other vids, nice work mate! I might end up chucking some stuff up on youtube one day, don't have a webcam though.
What rig do you use by the way? Looked around on your page but didn't see it, sorry if I missed it!
demolitionbmxd 4 years ago
Yea, thats cool as man, love to see you work.
I use a GK RB1001 mark 2 head (700W+50W) with a 4x10+horn & a 2x10+horn both are 400w cabs. sounds great for the big gigs.
You can see all my gear and other stuff on my web site, there's a link on my youtube.
What gear do you use?
