Plus, piper was making a subtle commentary in this promo on the state of professional wrestling because wrestlign was becoming a comicbook version of its former self. People couldnt just be themselves at this point (the late 80's) they had ot be a pirate or a garbadge man, or a psycho prisoner or a gang member. Add all that up and you do have the village people.
