  • @sarsaparillamann yes, but if you already speak a Scandinavian Language, it's merely as difficult as learning to speak German. ;)

  • Hey this video was added on my birthday!!! :)

  • I like Coldplay and Sigur Ros. They are totally different like comparing Abba to the Sex Pistols. Sigur Ros are pure escapism to a world far more beautiful than this one.

  • @zethgb Coldplay do not make good music <.<

  • @nathy8979

If coldplay just started out and you heard them for the first time, without the hype, I bet you would think they were great... untill they eventually got mainstream and you'd lose interest. I bet.

  • Me Encanta!

  • Comparing the death of music band Coldsore to Sigur, is like comparing NDubz to Elbow! Coldsore are all about isn't life shit, the kindest word I could use to describe them is lazy, whilst Sigur are poignant, haunting and beautiful

  • @zethgb No. Sorry but i'm a hudge fan of Coldplay AND Sigur Ros and i just think their both good, it's not an insult for a Sigur Ros fan to compare it to Coldplay. First i don't see the link between them (appart from me loving them :) and second Sigur Ros does offer melodic experience, but music is not only about discovering new sounds, it's about enjoying a melody, so next time try to think about that before posting comments about other bands being an "insult". And i just don't get the 33 tbsup

  • @Goforit202

Why are you trying to have an argument with me? I mean, in the second sentance you basicly agree with everything I have to say, I quote; "First i don't see the link between them (appart from me loving them :)".

I feel the same way, I just think the creative process and the emotions a Sigur Ros triggers is much more pure. For my last statement, the timberland one, I guess I was tring to say thats how Sigur Ros makes any band look. Sorry for coming of as a duche-bag fan-boy.

  • @zethgb I'm not trying to have an argument with you, i was just saying what i thought about your comment, but then, if i sounded like an ass sorry, but i have my opinion :). Oh and, in my second sentence i was talking about the genre and sounds they make, so no, i don't agree with you. But then again, let's not argue, it's stupid, we're both fans of sigur ros, and that's allready a good point :)

  • @Goforit202 I'd rather not have an argument either. Arguments over the internet is the pinnacle of time waste.

We are not only both fans of Sigur Ros, we are also both fans of Coldplay. "Live long and prosper" mate, like Spock would've said ;)

  • You can't compare Coldplay & Sigur Ros. I happen to be a bigger fan of Sigur Ros then Coldplay. Plus they are completely genres. Coldplay is more alternative rock whereas Sigur Ros is post rock, or as they define no genre at all =). Because seriously you never know where they go with their songs. One minute there is melancholy, and then you have a brass band exuding pomp and happiness. But that is what I like about them, their unpredictability. The ability to surprise.

  • Awesome video

  • First non-english band i have fallen in love up till now i thought Iceland was full of death metal xD wow was i wrong

  • wow I remember when I had this on my ipod when I was like 15 I think. The rifts are god like. By the sound of it there real easy. Ima play this on guitar my self lol.

  • yes on the new album where they are running naked in the fields

  • discovered these guys today. a friend of mine who I treated to some Radiohead and Arcade Fire showed me these guys, and this song stood out. real good shit. any other songs similar to this i might enjoy? (rest assured i will expand into their other stuff)

  • @hamsterdam92 hoppipolla and saeglopur of takk are truly incredible songs but just listening to med sud i eyrum... in its entirety is great

  • @hamsterdam92 oh man there's a lot of music my favorite's are

nyja lagid, vidrar, staralfur, glosoli, and so on, the takk album is great, have a wonderful journey !

  • @hamsterdam92 From SIgur Ros, check out inny mer syngur, hoppipolla, glosoli, the unnamed song (vanilla sky) and alot more (:

lol arcade fire neon bible in elevator sounds amazing

  • there are no words to describe sigur ros' music

  • @zethgb , after hearing Doors and, now, Sigur Rós, I've got to disagree with you. Coldplay don't make good music, Sigur Rós do. Sorry. I don't give a shit about how many millions of records Coldplay sell. For example, they're guitar sounds like.. like that! C'mon, you can hear it. ahah

  • I think some of there stuff sounds like radiohead

  • @thebeatlesx they have toured together fyi

  • I'm not at all a Coldplay fan, but you can't really compare them to Sigur Ros...

  • Coldplay < Sigur Rós

  • @uhinmywhitetee ARE YOU CRAZY????

  • @TravisLestrange Nope, he sounds right on the money there.

  • Damn, this song is fuckin' catching. Awesome, Sigur Ròs are AWESOME.

    *From Italy.

  • ahaa...amazing <3

  • das lied ist sooooo schön

  • Why do we even have to mention Coldplay here? I am a fan of Coldplay, but that doesn't mean I don't like Sigur Ros. Both bands are awesome (in my opinion).

  • Coldplay blows.

  • im agree with

zethgb ..you are comparing different styles.

  • theres no way you can compare crappy coldplay to sigur ros.. I cant believe i even heard someone say that

  • icelandic

  • puta que amo este maldito grupo !!!

    grande sigur ros !!!

vengan a Chile antes de que se acabe el mundo !!!

  • tienes toda la razon! si sigur viene a chile me vendo pa tener la plata !

  • its on limewire

  • ma in che lingua è la canzone?grazie

  • islandese

  • I like the older stuff better, but this is still amazingly touching and good.

  • my fav song

  • adore this song :)

  • pretty

  • nice song i like the language, its record of the week on radio 1

  • i have no idea what they are saying but i love this song. true musicians these guys, thanks!

  • I can tell you the title "Við spilum endalaust" means; We play endlessly. By the way I think icelandic is really poetic and beautiful language overall.

  • thanks for the info klarkolofsson, i admire theese musicians for the fact that they can make you feel their music, they are true artists. Respect.

  • Comment removed

  • @klarkolofsson They don't sing in Icelandic, they speak in a form of gibberish to allow all people from every background to place there own interpretation and meaning on there sound and music

    x

  • @lBeadz Both true and Wrong. On all albums except ( ) Jónsi sings in Icelandic. You talk about Hopelandic which is the jibberish language he made up for the ( ) album.

  • @klarkolofsson But Jónsi sings briefly in Hopelandic in a loot of songs, the "Money song" Hoppípolla for example and even in this one in the chorus, songs like Sæglópur are almost entirely Hopelandic, and they also have a lot (ok, not really a lot but it's not like it's only one or two) of songs made entirely of Hopelandic, Gong, Mílanó, Olsen Olsen, and of course, the song from where they got the name, Von/Hope (Vonlenska/Hopelandic).

[All these songs are from other albums besides ( ).]

  • @klarkolofsson You are damn right (:, after learning german, and chinese at school <.<, I'll go for this wonderful & overall poetic language haha :D

btw spilum = spielen in german huh lol, kinda the same...

  • @klarkolofsson Yes it means "We play endlessley"

  • @klarkolofsson yea but isnt that one of the hardest languages to learn?

  • its strange cos loads of non english bands that sell music over here choose to sing in english im so glad they dont cos they shouldnt pander to the english who think that everyone should speak and refuse to learn any other language

  • I honestly think this is one of the best songs on the album, next to gobbledigook and inni mer syngur.

  • Your momma is Icelandic. ;)

*This audio preview thing is ace fun :P*

  • im from iceland and this is one of my favourite bands and i can tell tou that they sing in icelandic:D:D

  • oh yeah is it worth a visit? is the weed good????

  • It is worth a visit, but not because of the weed. If you want weed go to Amsterdam.

  • love this song!!

  • Not a fan of most of the songs on this Album, but this song is easily top 3 best. And maybe top 5 favorite songs they did. Which are my top favorite 5 songs of all bands and genres.

    Shit's too amazing.

  • Aww Beautiful

  • This song isn't actually in volenska which is what kyja is refering to, but icelandic. They only use volenska for a few lines in some of their songs, otherwise they sing in proper icelandic.

  • what language are they/ is he singing in?

  • Icelandic lyrics.

  • Thanks!

  • this album got a dice cast 2, but the song got 5

  • wonderful song imo!

  • don't like the new album that much but this song is so relaxing

  • yeah sigur rosssssssssssssssssssssssssss
