Stage presence is necessary in singing, especially when singing live. You don't want someone singing an energetic song while standing like a pole, don't you? :/

@bakamabushi The gestures are important yes. But I think there's a limit to everything. She was kinda supposed to behave like a humble guest, not yet a superstar then. Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson don't have to walk so much on stages to give "stage presence". I don't think the camera men expected that she'd walk from one end to the other end so much either, even Ellen looked surprised.
