I wish Animals Count well in the European elections but I'm not certain I can vote for them. While I hold animal welfare very close to my heart, I'm not sure I can vote for a one issue party. I've been a vegetarian most of my life and agree with the majority of what Animals Count stand for(I do have a few issues regarding using animals as entertainment which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing depending on how it's done) but what do they stand for other than animal welfare? I don't know!
Given that most of the parties stand for more of the same, and none have animals listed very highly, I think this is an excellent way of getting animal issues highlighted more.
Of course there's more to politics, but this seems a good way to inject one subject that is close to our hearts into the picture just a little more than it currently is.
You make a good point(although I have to say that the Greens are pretty hot on Animal Welfare as well). I made my first comment after only just being made aware of Animals Count's existence and the fact that I could vote for them. The idea of voting for them is appealing to me more the more I think about it and I'm now quite likely to do so.
You're right about the Greens of course, I didn't mean to knock them (and I voted for them, not knowing about Animals Count nor having a candidate in my area this time around).
it broke my heart to see that poor animal being dragged into the slaughterhouse to it's death. I know someone who works as a truck driver in the meat industry picking up what they don't use from kill floors & he says that the animals scream in terror because they know they r about to be killed. At the hatcheries the wrong sex chicks r tossed into a grinder ALIVE!! The inspectors say they don't feel it! How do they know?!! Have they been thru the grinder? Animals r not here for human benefit.
Great Video...we need to get this on TV out in the public..more and more...thank you ..I have been working with animals for over 30 years and we will save them....they are earthlings.
I am a very proud member of Animals Count, it is so heartening to see what you are achieving with compassionate dedication at the centre of your agenda, this is fantastic for politics, fantastic for people and AWESOME for animals! You really do ROCK and I wish you all the very best in your election campaign. You are already winners in my opinion, I am sure the public will be with you 100 per cent when they know what you stand for.
Keep on going :D. I'm a vegan, and think you are the party to vote for.

Thanks a lot! Are you in the Islington South and Finsbury area? Or in London? We are starting our active campaign in the area tomorrow (27 Feb).
All the best,

Wish I could vote for you, but I don't live in Europe! Every country in the world should be run by a party member of an animal rights party.
