The UN is a joke. It's a front propped up by the US to serve US interests, not the people of the world. It's the same thing with the IMF and WHO. International interests are a simply a front for the current country with the biggest military. The League of Nations was the same damn fraud. How quickly people forget.

For Hamid Karzai to complain about external criticism over the grossly unacceptable degree of election corruption, is breathtaking in its hypocrisy, given that Hamid Karzai and his cohort were in the vanguard of complicity in that corruption. Whilst it is true that western elections are not entirely without corruption, it would be utterly cynical for the west to play its own electorate for fools, by supporting another Karzai term of office with yet more blood and treasure.

Let the people in Afghanistan have who they want, let them manage themselves, why the hell do we have to go around the world promoting a political agenda and setting up democratic governments, a form of government that fails or ends in oligarchy... creating more discourse that the war profiteers can turn into profit....

A nation has to be established in Afghanistan because we have to tolerate the hundreds-of-thousands of Afghan refugees driven out of Afghanistan, by the prevailing regime. Afghans can have what they want so long as they keep it in Afghanistan.
