It is a great remix. Shows how non-like the other FF battle themes this one is. Honestly, I can't find any songs in FFXIII that sounds like the other games, even the Chocobo Themes are messed up in this game. Great game nonetheless. And great remix.
@ixis I feel the opposite; I think the synthetic instruments on top of the "natural" instruments adds an interesting dimension to the sound. The synthetic instruments don't need to be *so* loud, but then too the whole point of that - I guess - is to show how the 8-bit version maps onto the high-quality version in the actual game.
Either way, this is an astounding chart - 8-bit or otherwise.
@TLRtheory Um I don't think you could get much of a game running on a nes with this song because it's too much for the machine, plus I don't know if this is even a nes remix, judging only by sound (and I could be wrong) this sounds more like a game boy color mix.
Nice freakin' job there, Blue. Now if you could only get your hands on whatever expansion Konami used to generate the BGMs you hear in the Japanese version of Castlevania 3, it would be sick. Would love to hear this done using that chip.
Probably just me, but the opening of the song didn't sound correct. Other than that, this made my day. Very well done. I hope you do more videos like this.
For some reason the two none final fantasy related things i think of when i listen to this is scott pilgrim vs the world, metal gear solid, and street fighter.
HELL! I like the part when both the 8-bit and the original is running over each other. I think its better then the original! love the old school classic, when at the same time have the good sound quality track in the background!
would it be awsome if they had a chapter in final fantsay XIII (sorry if i misspell) where snow and lighting were sent back to the old nes times and encounterd a bunch of 8 bit monsters and this song was playing?
Amazing. I love. I instantly fell in love with it from the first 8-bit beep 'til the last. Made me think of Megaman too. o 3o lol. Bloody awesome job!
wow i liked the part where it merged with the original orchestra part very nice, got me hyped. :) imagine warrior of light having this as a battle theme :))
This is absolutely brilliant! Your 8-bit remix sounds incredibly accurate to the original composition! I really like how you effectively used Famitracker's instruments for an authentic 8-bit vibe.
