  • This is a beautiful rendition of a great song. It is also the greatest commercial ever broadcast. I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat every time I watch this video/hear this song.

I encourage everybody who watches this to download the song... proceeds go to a worthy cause.

Great job Mr. Davis and Mr Lee.

... and I absolutely love the kids... NYC's hope and America's hope for the future.

  • 9-11 is my birthday. i was 4 that day. i cry everytime i hear something about 9-11. this song is soooo good.

  • I cry every time I watch this

  • i miss u daddy

  • This amn did a wondeful job :)

    Rip

  • PERFECT song choice!!!!

  • those 11 who dislike this are not American or North American. Im Canadian and the kids version of this song gave me goosebumps

  • i was 2 when its happened my mum never watched the news again :'(

  • 11 dislikes really imature

  • Now if we can take the religious tolerance, anti-racism tone of the video and get real New Yorkers (adults) to believe, that's the billion dollar question> Since Sept 11 I see more bigotry and racism against minorities. Let's see if the kids can change New York, cause the adults tend to be complacent.

  • Thank you statefarm

  • did this give any one else chills?

  • East to West, North to South, WE are AMERICA! We got each others back no matter what. For how NY responded, and how we all will never give up, I send a shout out to all of my fellow AMERICANS.

  • <3

  • The behind the scenes...this is so great! We live in the GREATEST city in the world! The best kids and the selfless FDNY!!!!! So proud to have known so many great firefighters... gone but not forgotten! Especially proud of those who remain on the job protecting this city everyday! A special shout out to Anthony Carbone who appears in this video!! Nice Job!!

  • yea haa great video ,love it good job kids keep it up

  • yea haa great video ,love it good job kids keep it up

  • i remeber it like it was yesterday i was in the 4th grade, when one of the teachers came into the room and called my teacher outside, my teacher then came back in and was all choked up, just as he was about to tell us what happend the principal came on and told us that towers in NY were hit, and that one of the teaches at our school had a son in one of the towers on the 103 floor, at that moment we all looked at my teacher and he was sobbing and said very weakly "that was my son." im canadian

  • Respect from your brothers and sisters across th pond in the UK... much love and god bless the USA.

  • awww all my friends!<3 i love them they did awsome! i didnt get to be in it but i love them they did amazing<3 i see them everyday im so proud :)

  • Yes I know one of the kids in this film , who was rescued with His parents by these Heroes, from where they lived.. as the area was High with debris, and couldn't escape themselves a block or so from the World Trade Area.. A Healthy Young Fellow now.. A year later.. the Family braved it right back to where they lived.. more Power to them, and all the New Yorkers and Americans and Heroes that are still Here in NY flourishing after being stricken !! Got knocked down.. but we get up again ! XO

  • Made my eyes water up..

    Thanks bro..

  • Recpect from Mexico

  • Respect from Spain

  • This is one of those perfect commercials and in this case a commerative to 9/11 ten years later... Thank you, State Farm and Spike Lee... this commercial during the rememberance morning of Sunday, 9/11/11 was an uplift for a few minutes at each commercial showing... the children were beautiful... the connection the firefighters equally beautiful... Thank you for sharing this beautiful thoughful creation.

  • respect from France!!!!

    New Yorkers, you rock!!

  • Wonderful :)

  • Not too many commercials can bring grown ass men to tears. I gotta tell you, this literally got me. This tribute is a simplistic work of genius. Good work

  • people keep saying that 9/11 is not the worst thing to happen, and it might not be, but it is the worst thing to happen to us since Pearl Harbor. well they need to realize that to America this is a big deal because we were not used to attacks when this happened unlike other countries that fight all of the time. I was only 8 years old when this happened and lost my childhood innocence that day when i realizes that bad people were real and will kill people.

  • i'm gonna share all my friends

  • if you don't like this video, you must have ice flowing thru your veins!

  • Every year i went to NY for Celebrate X-mas with my Bro and my uncle.

    Ny is my another home.

    With love From THAILAND

  • that's why America is the first in the world

  • This gave me chills shows how united us new yorkers are I'm glad to be a native new yorker

  • anyone who can call this stupid sh*t needs to get a life.. and a heart

  • New York,

You are a truly resilient city, nothing can keep you down. The terrorists think they can bring you down, but you've got me and my fellow Canadians behind you.

    Much love, New York

    from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

  • yes i do feel bad for the victims of 9/11 but america is such a pussy conpared to the rest of the world. millons of people die in afaghanistan and pakistan from the hand of the united states and theese are innocent poeple who did nothing but since the are muslim they are considered a terrorist. really the u.s needs to man up because what they take for granit like water food ect is what many others struggle to get. really i find america just sad in some aspects

-from a 12 yr old from sweden

  • @jimdawg44 you're pretty well informed swedish 12 year old, but didn't your parents teach you better and to write or say hateful things to someone. 911 was a tragic event for lots of people, and it's considreate of you to say these things. And finally I pose to you this question if you hate america so much why did you watch this video?

  • @jimdawg44 what do you say about the Chinese?

  • @jimdawg44 If a tragic thing happened in Sweden the USA would be first to lend a helping hand.

  • @johnny0g Yep your right if it ever happend to any countrys US will respond.

  • @coolgriff True.. :)

  • San Francisco is a better city...

  • @619darthmaul I was in that song, dont even want you to say that in my show.

  • I cry everytime I hear or think about this commercial. I imagine the two monuments and I cant wrap my head around the emotion I feel about the tragedy. Life is so precious and America is such a great place. Those towers are gone, and the lives lost with it. But we are stronger because of it. We can never forget how blessed we are.

  • What a tribute to the FDNY!

  • 8 people are terrorist that dislike this

  • i wish i could go to NEW YORK CITY someday......

    :)

  • @LilJazzYProductions you can do anything you put your mind to

  • this cured my aids

  • Thank you for creating such a beautiful tribute to these brave men! Truly amazing!

  • i cried when i saw this on tv

  • Cheeeeseee cheeeesseee

    man Spike Lee loves Cheese

  • Did anyone else notice how he said his wife called him at 6am but it didnt happen til' later?

  • @BuffaloBillCody987 he was in L.A...6am there would have been 9 am in NY...well after the attacks

  • @terzigno1 Your right I didn'tm even think about that.

  • 4 000 deaths on 9/11. That's very sad. But let's not forgot about the hundred thousands of deaths CAUSED by the Americans in Irak, Pakistan and every other arabic country. I'm not hating here, but more having an honest view on the reality.

  • @shogun1556 they people of Iraq*, Pakistan and "every other arabic country" are killed because our men and women are put into kill or be killed situations EVERY DAY! Our military bases in those countries are being shot at with rockets DAILY and these people hope for AMERICA to come crashing down. Yes there are innocents being killed but thats what happens in war, unfortunately you cant tell whos the good guy or bad guy in those countries because even the children are willing to kill.

  • @Kiwi89ification I'm aware of that. But the only thing I'm trying to say is that because of the fact that America, and especially USA is a very rich country, we have the 'opportunity' to make every sad event an apocalyptic thing. I know 9/11 is one of these horrible event, and everyone remembers it because it happened within 3 hours, but as you say, everyday Americans are killing innocent people. Anyway war sucks, at least you and me agree about that. And sorry for my bad spelling, I'm French.

  • Great job to everyone who had something to do with this !!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck all the clowns in D.C. The American people will make this country come back and be better than ever ! Sure, it takes a lot to take this nation down

  • @zonip67

You probably don't live in America i take it? So you probably have never been scared when your country was getting attacked. Also we are not crying over it simply letting evryone remember what courage and bravery was shown that day by soo many. If it happened where you are u would be doing the same stuff...

  • Awesome video made me cry.

  • awsome video

  • it makes me cry every time soo sad but there such good singers R.I.P Vinny

  • its unbelievable how people could dislike this.

  • @circa28nike

  • the day 9/11 happened i was a child i did not understand that death was permanent but i asking my teacher what death was, i was filled with sadness on that day to remember

  • Isn't the title a bit ironic considering our stranglehold in the geopolitical atmosphere?

    "Empire state of mind"

  • Tearsssssssssss breaks my heart how many people we lost

  • Really nice

  • What a marvelous tribute!!! One of my all time favorites.

  • God bless America and protect her..

  • exactly 343 brave firefighters lost their lives leaving around 1400 children fatherless

  • this gave me chills.

  • @maatu1

911 was either done or let happen by the americans.....sorry

    wake up stupid slaves

  • @16306253 that is your opinion. do not dishonor the men and women that died on that sorrowful day. you aren't worth my time.

  • @maatu1

i didnt dishonour the people that died

    thats terrible

just face fact that your country doesnt give a shit about them

    they were just collateral damage

    soldiers too

i think it was rockerfeller or one of those rothchilds that said ''soldiers are nothing but dumb stupid animals used to push the agenda of the elite"

  • Thank you for this video!

  • For all of you out there that posted negative comments. You forgot how to be human, Forgot compassion, forgot love, forgot how to be a child.

Respect to all the victems families. Respect to the filmmaker and children who made this

  • @aspen01100 Amen!!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • Man I will never forget when I was a kid some woman said "oh my god there jumping out the windows idk if there trying to breath Im trying to leave but I cant go anywhere. God they just keep jumping"

  • <3,<3, <3 so BEAUTIFUL and such an appropriate TRIBUTE!!! I get so emotional every time I watch it!

  • i love new yorkers' accent for each diff part of the city.

  • Il always remember this day i was in 3rd grade and the school called all of the teachers to the office and when they came back to class and they were all hysterically crying and they handed me a piece of paper that said if my mommy or my daddy did not come home to call a certain number i still have that sheet of paper and when i came home that day my dad and mom were sitting on the couch crying and told me my uncle was in the buildings saving lives and september 11th 2001 was my 6thbirthday

  • @coolgriff Did your uncle die that day?

  • @excap Yeah.

  • @coolgriff Ahw :(

  • i just listen to this over and over again.. the sweet innocent voices are such a contrast to the evil of that day that continues... i love this song, these kids and NYC

  • Wish more people would come together and collaborate like this. It's what this country needs.

  • any chance that there is a video of them just singing the whole song floating around somewhere?

  • This is a great video!! Why is you tube taking this down on some of the links. Just hartless I guess.

  • i am in love with this song its so amazing

  • @soulclap915 well yeah its originally from jay-z

  • @kevodelkity no duhh im not stupid

  • @kevodelkity i think she ment the tribute duhh who the hell is not gnna no that its jay-z

  • 2:23 Allan Tarasiewicz. I believe that this man was Polish, 'cause he got a Polish name and surname. Many Poles sacrificed their lives for a better America and American Government still won't abort visas for our country. Why?

  • Comment removed

  • Simply Loves this video!!! Congrats to Spike Lee for just showing the soul and courage of America. Jay-z and Alicia Keys made a song and it has grown a greater meaning!!!!!

  • I know USA has a lot of anger and everything.. But get over it, I mean way worst have happened in the world. It's not a hate message, I respect this but c'mon it's been 10 yeas and USA have killed more then 3000 innocent in the past years, and we don't comemorate it.

Please don't think I'm trolling or anything I'm just giving my point of vue.

    Thanks.

  • @TwitosSC2 i agree with twitos allot of other stuff bigger then 9/11 has happened and more deaths occured srsly guys you dont have t have an anniversary every 10 years a few thousand people die ?????

  • @TwitosSC2 You obviously have no respect, 9/11 was the largest terrorist attack ever. So in the terms of terrorism, no way worse has not happened. Every homicide that was committed that day, were innocent lives. They didn't sign up for the military or anything to put their lives at risk, they were simply working. So if 3,000 homocides in one day, that were all civilians isn't a lot, then sorry.

  • 7 heartless terorists disliked.

  • State is banning their commerial copy right laws? I though this was for the people it's all about money!!!!

  • A great tribute to the firefighters!

  • I miss the Twins :-'( I miss 3000 People! :-'((

  • @REvolutionGER 2976 people, I memorized that number the day they had the death count

  • Comment removed

  • Touching

  • everybody knows that was an inside job from the us

  • donovan93123 You're an idiot!

  • In remembering 9/11, its hard to see beyond the horror of the event itself. But this tribute helped me remember that hope does spring eternal. Wonderful tribute to the beautiful city of New York and to the FDNY.

  • Goose bumps...

  • 911 was a Mossad job.

    search: 911missinglinks

  • @donovan93123 That is the point of the internet. Its not full of proven facts. A huge percentage is just opinions. Some say it was a Bush move, sure go them and their companies ridiculously rich with the events that followed this attack

  • THIS MAKES ME WANA GO TO NEW YORK....too bad many people tell me not to go...

  • @seriouslyImmature Don't listen. I'm from Cali and grew up in the country. I went to New York for business and was really nervous. It was the best trip I have ever taken. I went back 6 months later for pleasure. New York is an amazing place. I love that city.

  • @seriouslyImmature Those bad people live in New York

  • @StrangelyYours

sooo new york isnt a good place to live?

  • @seriouslyImmature That was not what I was implying. New York I am sure would be a wonderful place to stay at if you can afford it. Just that due to so much competition and the economy pretty much stagnant and under immense debt, such conditions leads to desperation and desperation leads to crime and bad people. Just a theory. Wish you a very happy stay in New York when you do go there.

  • beautiful

  • wow, these kids are great...

  • This is so precious... brought tears to my eyes

  • These kids are great singers and smart comments in the interviews. That shows the soul of America. I think the music director is a class act and using the actual firemen of NYC brought tears to my eyes when I saw this on Sunday. What a classy tribute to New York, America and the youth who have hope for our future.

  • @mohottie30

    Great singers?

    Auto tune kthx

  • @mohottie30 i know right

  • I am so so so PROUD to be an AMERICAN !

  • @doublepretty1 Monkey!

  • to all u terrorist u bring the USA closer. I was 3 when 9/11 happened so I wasn't aware of Wat was happening and now tht I know . I have to say thnx to all the people who lost there lives and I am praying for all the people who lost loved ones.

  • terrorist failed to bring us down, what they achieve is to bring us stronger together.

  • @crazywildman of course it didn't bring us down, they didn't even have WMD's. it was a foolish decision by those renegades, because the inherently they wouldn't be able to anything but knock us down, and we retaliated by destroying them and the countries they reside in.

  • Beautiful, beautiful children!!!! I cry everytime I watch it. God bless everyone who has lost and suffered from that tragic day Thank you to those here and gone who helped (as did I) and served the country.

  • 5 people are terrorist!

  • Nice Video, makes me cry ;)

  • I tried to come up with the right words to say yesterday, but none of them were strong enough. I wanted to say thank you to those who lost their lives 10 years ago and those who are dying now from breathing in the air at ground zero, but thank you wasn’t enough; I wanted to say I’m sorry to all those who lost someone they loved, but sorry wasn’t enough . So I’ve come to the conclusion that there will never be words that mean enough, there are not statements that can make the feelings lighter.

  • I'm lol'ing cuz most of them are my best friends! Lol at my school!! But PS.22 still owns :3

  • Thats the best thing Spike Lee ever made thanks love that vid.

  • @adrizen if u don't at least feel something that has happened then you r one cold hearted mother beeper. It's just one sweet commercial. Paying tribute to the fallen heroes on 9/11. Get over ur self

  • What a awsome awsome video

  • @kingman88 "State Farm is donating its download proceeds (approximately $.48 per download) to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF)." firehero.org/news/2011/empirestate.html

  • itunes download of the track is not available in US?!

  • THESE KIDS SING SOOOOO BEUTIFUL!!!great job<100% pure American!!!<3

  • .....LONG LIVE THE WORLD TRADE....

  • I was 7...I remember seeing debris falling everywhere when it was on TV after school. Little did I know that not only was that debris, but people too. 10 years later it's amazing how the people of NY were able to rebuild from that experience. Peace and love to you guys <3 Love from Canada <3
