sometimes its not about words, it just the way the rhythm, music, and voice matters. This is what i have loved about this song and pet shop boys. This reminds me of a 15 year old being the right popular kid at school, girls were just on the scene . Great times! even though i found at about in the 90's

for me this is the best of the petshop boys ever made, since they realesed this i had played it , over and over and over again i realy misssssssss those days
my teenage fav, it takes more than a matter of time, it was SUCH a brilliant song... 2 divided by zero, west end girls PSB rocked then, later albums nothing much to write home about, but i did like I want a dog...
@changepakistannow Introspective, Behavior and Very were all outstanding albums. Afterwards they may turn out to be somehow patchy but each album had three or four undeniable PSB classics. Bilingual is the strongest of post-Very era and their last album YES is close to it. And there is Minimal from Fundamental, an astounding beautiful orgasmic soundscape...
@Actuallysalemslot Love comes quickly whatever you do, in contrast to Phil's "you can't hurry love" :) I mean yeah they're PSB still and there are fragments of those vocals and sounds still
This is actually a very good video. Except for the part in the beginning with the woman walking around in her bra and underwear. That part makes no sense with the meaning of the video.
@lago4 Yes but interesting analogy - and a good one. Neil was a write at Smash hits and no doubt well aware of whats what. Take note when they board train at end .. NO DRIVER. Analogy - do any of us really know where we are going? .. Course not. Thats what brilliant. . It may well be a homage to Pink Floyd- as for the film - I reccomend you see it for it is brilliant.
I am 59 years old and have always liked the PSB since they first started out, still love the songs...never get sick of hearing them,i like them even more.......worlds best duo.....
Is this song about the fire accident that took place in the King's Cross station on 18th November 1987? I am just wondering. I just listened to this song for the very first time.
That fire was a real tragedy. Something to do with air pressure or drafts which turned a seemingly controllable situation into a sudden inescapable blaze that tore up the escalator
Maybe a terrorist act that was hidden so as not to offend the "newcomers" and their false prophet ?
Oque é música? Música é tudo oque você já ouviu!! King´s Cross? King´s Cross não é música, é uma obra de arte...é um verdadeiro Hino!!!! Parabéns Cris e Neil. Outra banda como os Pet Shop Boys, só depois que Jesus voltar!!!!

Agree with you there superstella78, a massive stand-out track. I believe The Sun propostorously urged the boys to release this as a charity single following the fire at King's Cross station in '87- they rightly declined. Still sounds fantastic well over 20 years later. You just cannot get excited about today's music in comparison. The 80's rule!
What a visual and auditive delight this song is! I just love 0:43. The 80's must have been the best decade to be young--great music, no Iraq war, no 9/11, no George Bush, no Bin Laden, and no shit in general. People just seem to have been a lot nicer back then, although I am aware that bad things were going on back then too (still I only blame the politicians and religious leaders). I don't know. Good song...makes me think how great my childhood years were--and how nasty being young now is...
@raulsoleimanio Eh, biased about the 80s, that was my decade of growing up in any case. And while we had no bush or bin laden, we did have the cold war, the "evil empire," and the MAD dance (and war by proxy - see Afghanistan) going on. Love the decade, but we looked at the 70s the same way (no AIDS, no "Greed is good," etc,) and the 60s - every decade seems to erode some hope and add some rose tint to those glasses we look back with. Still a decade of great music though.
@raulsoleimanio Let me tell you just how right you are. I was born in 1970 and this band were the soundtrack to my youth. But hey, maybe every generation feels the same ? Respect, anyways ...
