They were members of a tribe known as the ami have no written language so they passed their heritage down through songs and poems like the vikings. That is not quite true... Each tribe functioned differently. Not all tribes had stationary homes, some tribes DID pay great respect to what their women had to say. And some tribes DID have forms of communal taxes and all of them had certain obligations and expectations of their people. Similar purposes, different ways of carrying them out. And many of them had religious / spiritual obligations and observances, so I don't get the snipe with the Church thing either.

Well yeah, I am a Mestiza. I am Indian, White Spaniard and a little chinese too. My grandparents were Tarahumaras and Yakis from the North of Mexico. So yeah, I guess I am Native Indian too. Maybe that's why I always feel so attracted to Indian people, customs and all that. I don't feel that special connection with white people or other.

That is not quite true... Each tribe functioned differently. Not all tribes had stationary homes, some tribes DID pay great respect to what their women had to say. And some tribes DID have forms of communal taxes and all of them had certain obligations and expectations of their people. Similar purposes, different ways of carrying them out. And many of them had religious / spiritual obligations and observances, so I don't get the snipe with the Church thing either.

I am very happy that many people appreciate our culture . It has nothing to do with race, or left wing or right wing. We all share the common human experience given to us by the creator. Generations will pass swearing to never to grow old. Soon enough we find ourselves eating those words. Sitting in a rocking chair and listening to the sounds of the earth. And truly understanding.

Lovely - I am crying now - a 44 year old man with strong arms - I would say it as gaeilge or in Irish but nobody would understand. The first nations story is the same as ours more or less. I guess if a warning came we could have been ready but they didn't ask. My heart is breaking

ive always love this song.a prayer song.praise song.ive studie my cuture and many others.im a believer in jesus.im also native from the westcoast.as i drawn to listen to many tribal songs ,from around the world ,I learned yahs name in christian study.yhwh was name the lord gave to his people in the desert.yah is sung in many parts of the world.look up a hebrew song then a native,then ethiopain praise song.youll begin to connect dots. we all are seeking.yah_shua ,jesus is lord,yahs son..peace
