... hope it was a titty-card. happy birthday,my man & best to you in 2k12 let the Led out, often. i think that grace under pressure is Rush at it's peak lol not easy to judge one from another (as) i believe that all their stuff is good.
- i saw them once,on the 'farewell to king's' tour and hope to see them again. thanx for this upload,
I used to have a cassette tape of the soundcheck for this show. They spent about 10 mins just programming the swelling sequence that you hear on the bridge. It its out there somewhere. As far as the comments about the late 80's Rush...all the rock then was pretty bad/mellow (remember, More Than Words). But, if you take each Rush era separately, then Power Windows and Hold Your Fire have some great music. HYF has some of Ged's most "melodic" bass playing ever.
I was at this concert...I believe it was either in August or September of 1984 (the beginning of my senior year in high school). The opening band was Helix (and they were awful). One thing I remember about this particular song was everytime Getty sung 1-0-0, 1-0-0, red lasers would hit the stage from above. It looked very cool. They sounded great. It was a fantastic concert and I feel lucky that I saw them then. Sorry to see the Capital Centre gone now, though. It was a great place for concerts!
Oh, yes please mate... I love Rush so much... I saw them in 2007 and 2008... wish I could have seen them when they were younger (not in the 90's though.. they looked horrible Ha!!).
So yeah, I'd really appreciate it if you could upload that. Thanks again :-)
I dunno they were pretty awesome in the 90s but from 1985 to 1988 they were just awful i hate Power Windows and Hold Your Fire they make me physically sick but Roll The Bones and Counterparts thats good stuff.
Yeah, Counterparts is incredible. I like Hold Your Fire... don't like Power Windows so much. I mean, they started out almost as a metal band, and then they dominated progressive rock, and PW and HYF are just... too soft. Presto as well, but they dropped all the synth crap in Presto, so that was good. But ya, in the 90's they started getting heavier again... and now I feel like their music is more like it was back in the 70's and early 80's than ever before. Early 80's was their best, though
Hey, Mission is a great song! haha... Tai Shan I can agree with... and High Water. Just crap. And Big Money.. I HATE that song. Marathon is great, though... and so is Open Secrets. One of my favorite songs ever :-)
the big money is good but i also agree with tai shan, high water is OK... i like all the rush albums, grace under pressure was one of their albums that had the most spirit.

I would love to have a recording of this concert from the Capital Centre, if that's possible. It's pretty rare when someone can get-a-hold of a recording from a concert they attended. Please let me know! Thanks!!
I was wondering if you'll be able to send me the link to down-load this concert from the Capital Centre. I would really appreciate it if you could. Thanks!!
Sorry I can't find the download for this one but I found another one from this tour from madison square garden the qualities not as good but it's still a recording worth getting

I was fortunate enough to attend a Grace Under Pressure concert during the tour! My
first Rush concert was February 77 when
the boys fronted Ted Nugent. (2112). Thanks for the awesome memories!

@ontherush77 I do almsot like this versions sound better
c14ulesall 6 months ago
@santyrush I noticed that too, at the beginning. I think he had a chorus effect on it for that beginning riff.
Thompsongs 1 year ago
@santyrush Geddys using waaayyy to much chorus effects on his bass which i believe is a steinberger on this tour.He binned it after this tour
CosmoKrameryyz 1 year ago
@santyrush geddy is so badass. Nobody will ever play bass like him.
1dgkonig 1 year ago
@santyrush Geddy used a Steinberger on this album and tour, plus the beginning sounds like a chorus pedal is being used.
