    Awesome train that is

  • I'm breathless

  • Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shengum Dude, you don't know SICK until you watch Hannes Otohal play his version entitled "hummelflug" (Bumblebee in German). Watch the more recent version. It's about 4:50. You'll thank me.

  • just doesn't compare with B.Bumble

  • AMAZING!!!

  • I hear the left hand starting, and I all I was thinking was "no way can he keep that up", wrong. That was amazing!

  • This didn't knock my socks off, it blew them off, ripped them up, and tore them to shreds.

  • wow.... goodness gracious!!!!!!! my teacher tried to teach me this one....long story short i cried.....

  • Well, not this exact version; the original version of BB. I like this one, too!

  • SO FAST!!!!! I'm working on it but my hands are so small!

  • Hollywood composer/arranger Stu Phillips got his first steady music gig auditioning with this song at The Garden of Allah at Crescent & Sunset Blvd in 1950. $125/week, 17:30 -23:00 Tuesday-Saturday. He actually played only 20 hours a week figuring in the 'breaks'. That's TWICE what my dad made for working 40 hours a week with a college degree when he started out that same year!

  • Wow! I just happened on this while looking for a different version. Do you have a CD?

  • my favorite part is 0:00 through 4:37

  • 15 people are allergic to bumblebees.

  • how did you speed the vid up??

haha jk man, two words... WOOW and WOOW again...

i play the piano myself but man you are way beyond anything!!

congratulations you´re my idol... GREAT playing

  • Damn, son. The mic pullin' the sound didn't do ya justice! Bravissimo!

  • This is absolutley Amazing, I take my hat off to you.

Where did you learn to play like this?

  • Wow! I think youtube should limit how many times a song can be liked by a single person, because I have already liked this song, what, 75,-300 times about? JK I am exagerating, but not by much. keep up the GREAT work.

  • This is incredible! Do you think that your classical background allowed you to play this so well?

  • I am 79 years old and have listened to this all my life. Never had I heard it done as well. Thenk you for sharing your gift.

  • is a big proffesionist and tehnicalls piano .congratulations Matt .i love you .leyah .

  • FAKE! And I don't mean it about him really playing, just that he isn't human!! Must be some asian super robot or something

  • My piano teacher can play this..... BUT NOT THAT GOOD!

  • Matthew - You do a powerful job on this - my favorite piece of music ever. I fell in love with it as a kid on the original 1946 hit version. I think Jack Fina's version actually has a more sensual swing to it, though. Thanks.

  • wow. you are incredible. where can i get my hands on your arrangement?

  • Wow

  • A mutual acquaintance linked me to you - Just awesome!

  • Hey I've just started learning this piece, what fingers do you use for the chromatic parts? (pretty much the first part of the tune the right hand plays)

    Thanks

  • You should search "emily bear bumble boogie" on youtube. It's the same song only performed by an adorable 8-year-old piano prodigy

  • god how can you make your fingers move so fast?

  • Matthew, can you please tell me, which fingerring ("Finger Sentence (?)") you use at 0:20 - 0:25 ? do you use 3 2 1 2 1 4 3 2 3 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 3 ?

  • I'm amazed that your fingers aren't worn down to stubs

  • The only person I've heard do it better is Jack himself, and I'll bet he would have loved your variations. Bravo, sir.

  • Unbeliveable, still the best version I've ever heard. I never get sick of watching you play this. Thank you for your brilliance.

  • Matthew amazing technique. I learned the original Jack Fina version when I was 17-18 years old but newer played like this, you inspired me to re-learn this classic piece once again 50 years later. Thanks for the inspiration Burlington On. CANADA

  • This is so good that I actually "Laughed out loud" when I heard this... ridiculously good!

  • Finally someone playing it at a good tempo :D Too many are slow, this is the version that sounds best.

  • i am lost in words this is why i want to learn the piano :( just never really can every time i try something happens where i cant.

  • Woah... that's like, scary. Didn't knock my socks off, sorry. Only made my hat fall (Jk hehe) A little... loud. Not enough dynamic contrast, in my opinion.

    Otherwise well played.

  • Right that is it. I'm going to park Bach's Preludes and Fugues and get into Boogie Woogie!

  • sounds like a little mix of the classic version with awesome boogie version. fantastic.

  • Ho. Ly. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

    I fucking LOVE you.

  • Oh my dear lord, may i bear your children please? Our kids would play some sick piano.

  • @surveyslulz Lolzors comment.

i must have this man's children.

    if he's gay, we'll baste.

  • SO xclnt! I listened to about ten other versions on YT and I like yours the best. When you get a chance, I'd love to see this with better camera and audio/mic. You're so good but the video doesn't quite do you justice.

  • Absolutely fantastic playing. I really love it and I haven't been too excited by this particular piece in the past. Awesome job man.

  • Watch this again, watch on his face. That is a look of pure focus.

  • THIS ISN'T EVEN POSSIBLE omg dude you are soo good

  • This is absolutely incredible! I learned the original a few years ago, but the version I knows pales in comparison to this. You are brilliant, as I am sure you know. :) And are you going to make a transcript of your version? I'm sure people would purchase it.

  • @mushroomartist if you're insane at piano maybe! lol

  • Please play Swaany River

  • the song is insain its so fast

  • great job, although, being a video camera, the sound quality isn't great. Have you considered recording it through a digital piano and connecting it directly to your computer? I have a Yamaha P-85 and i can midi it directly to my computer, the sound quality is fantastic, but I'm not a fantastic player. Hope to see more of you soon

  • Matthew, is this profession or more like a hobby?

    Regards from Germany.

  • Professional only

  • @Boogiewoogiekid so you don't really enjoy playing piano...?

  • Where can I buy this song?

    I love it.

  • That was awesome! Started my day off great with a smile on my face. You kept both the tempo and the spirit of the song. I only wish I could see more camera angles, but I'm sure you'll do that eventually. I even looked up other versions of this song, and yours is the best.

  • Bravo;;; Dude!!

  • Excellent - right up there with the Freddy Martin version!

  • You make the original version of BB sound absolutely tame! What drew you to boogie woogie? You're VERY good at it, as I'm sure you know.

  • i think he like fast foward it after he talked in the video,

but even if he did, or didn't its still good

  • Nonsense...

  • If I were British, I'd be GOBSMACKED, but I'm from the good ol' USA, so I'll have to be content with saying that I was flabbergasted! This was amazing! I'm surprised there wasn't any smoke coming from the hammers!!! Rest those talented fingers!

  • You are absolutely and utterly fantastic, enjoyed watching and hearing you over and over. I teach piano in France, near Monaco. Bravo on your arrangement !!!!!!

  • While I haven't played piano in many years, my father was a professional musician (concert violinist) and had one of the top 5 dixieland bands on the radio. He also played with Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman. So I've been around music for a while on a professional level.

Man, you are "off the charts" FANTASTIC!

You don't happen to have any sheet music for your Shiek of Araby or Bumble Boogie versions, do you?

    God's Speed to you!
