@Ismalith No, It doesnt. Thats why Dyson ceased production, and that they were very expensive. James will probably develop a cheaper or reliable one. someday.
I never associate Dyson with quality or anything like that, I only associate Dyson with useless nonsense with much design, plastic and big commercials.
In this way it has nothing to do with knowledge it is just build too cheap, i don´t know how much this thing cost but i think only 100$ more into materials and the technology and it will work much better for ten times longer.
An iPhone is not a mechanical machine, and in basic 60% Sand (Silicium) and a view gram copper and gold, nothing expensive, most of the money on an iPhone that is not just gift to the selling company is used for development.
But on the washing machine is not very much development, i would say 40% on the price are the materials and if you would like to know how much more materials are in an washing machine and in an iPhone, lift them both up.
@Ismalith i can bet you this machine cleans better and quicker than your 20 year old machine. Plus it has much more functionality. sure it wasnt perfect but i bet it would be if it had more product refinement.
and plus yes this machine is waaaay more energy efficient than your current thing
There is a patent on everything in the world, but if something is useful or brings money, it will be copied, like cars, electric Toaster, Mobile Phones and so on.
Sorry to say that but there is only one reason why, no other company copied it, and it is the same reason why you will never find such washing machines in industrial use.
@Ismalith dyson doesn't license or sell there patents unlike other companies. its most likly there is a newer better version of this machine in development now.
I Have one , and have had it for about 6 or so years.......and its Fantastic....
brilliant results ...i have had 1 fault with it and Dyson called out to deal with it and - even though it was out of its warranty, they sorted it.....and what was even better there was no charge!!!!
They have been discontinued for about 5 years as Dyson lost money on them - I don't know why ?
none of my clothes have ever come out torn or worn.....
I think they stopped making the washing machines .....its no wonder really - the machines put a lot of wear and stress on clothing - ive heard of clothes comming out shredded to pieces lol...plus spare parts and repairs are difficult for these machines - since they made in a very different way to normal machines - most standard repair men wont touch them.
I wonder how they managed to pull off sealing the drives for two drums most single drum front loaders just have a pulley or pancake motor in the back.
but then again, i dont see the point in dyson ever making this type of washing machine, whats the point in making half the drum turn in the opposite direction, it would surely just make everything twisted round until it spins.
hey steeeven1, youre right it sounds like a blender which would annoy me so much. but on 2drumsallergys vids we can see the other portion of the wash where it doesnt do this. i love that sound its so soothing and sound like my aunts whirlpool. anyway this was a good idea but it just didnt adhere to peoples liking. i read this on AW that dyson tested so many ways of washing to be different and this was figured out to be the best.
they wanted to imitate handwashing (which was the best way of washing) beacuase it uses a twisting action which is why they designed this. it twists the clothes sure but it wouldnt tangle them up much because it goes the opposite way too.
That's really interesting. There are so many ways of handwashing clothes. One style, as you say, is to twist. Another way of handwashing is using the beating method. And yet another method is to use the scrubbing method.
it more like mixes the clothes up so that everything is washed equally great. i think this was an excellent idea. its mixing and twisting, rather than an oridnary front loader where its thrashing and not really getting mixed well especaially when having full loads. okay ive said enough. anyone please feel free to add to my comment or correct it. :-)
It's only been out for a few years now... the reason why the dyson failed was due to r-tarded people over loading the machine and as you know over loading is never a good thing in any type of washer especially in a crappy top loader...
What a flop that machine was. Great idea - maybe is better than standard 'one drum' but maybe 'funky' purple cheap plastic build quality put people off?...
does this wash clothes better than a single drum machine?

@SpazChat Its the gears. It has 2 motors turning the same way, and a gearing system for each drum.

@iwatchfunny
The main problem with this gear is that it is cheap, they used normal gears instead of helical gears, that is what make the noise.

@Ismalith Weird really, everyone normally assosiates dyson with quality builds :/ The washers where just a let down/

@Ismalith yeah it was a good idea but they diddnt know how to build it properly.

@Ismalith .... wtf? dyson put like loads of money towards developing everything! do you not understand the concept of the dyson company.
iwatchfunny 3 weeks ago
@iwatchfunny
What should I say, the ideas may look interesting but in reality it is just useless.
Or what brings a washing machine with two different turning drums in reality?
But it is your thing, to buy this stuff or buy something else.
Ismalith 3 weeks ago
@Ismalith there not useless. this machine washed well and if it had been more reliable and less expensive would of been a massive hit.
shall i point you to the rest of dysons innovations that are "useless"
iwatchfunny 3 weeks ago
@iwatchfunny
I have a more than 20 years old washing machine that is since i had bought it, two times a day ore more and still doing a perfect job.
Its only weakness is the high energy use, because it is made in a time when nobody cares about things like that.
So what is the usage of this technology?
Ismalith 3 weeks ago
