The reason people USED to try not to use profanity was that it was OFFENSIVE to others and showed a lack of respect. Only uncouth people, trash, used profanity for it showed a mind that was woefully lacking in civil ways to express itself. As the worlds populace becomes more and more self-centered the mere act of consideration is looked upon as ridiculous. Interesting values.

obviously she wanted to say fucking personality, so she did. i think that saying what you mean would be a great step towards this country not being so fake and overprotected. i have young children, and i know they will hear words that are "forbidden." if the interviewer would not have made a big deal about it most people would not have even noticed what she said. stop the hyper reactions to casual words.

It did sound like "sucky" to me, too. I guess we won't know unless we read the transcripts. I wonder if it was shown in "closed captions"... I guess Diane Sawyer knows for sure. If it wasn't "sucky" Diane Keaton owes a sincere apology to the listening public. I don't turn on my TV to hear language like this and I don't want my kids hearing such language on TV either. It's hard enough listening to the word "bitch" being thrown about freely.
