  • Hi mate, just noticed you using a ruler there, whats the minimum space apart for tracks if you dont mind me asking?

  • @jasonandjoesrailway I go with about 40mm

  • @EverardJunction Thanks for the reply, is that from rail to rail? When we getting our next update from you? Is it as cold in your loft as it is in mine!!!

  • @jasonandjoesrailway Yeah that's rail to rail. Its far to cold at moment to do any filming.

  • Have you ever shown how you control your points, a chart or panel board or something?

  • @jasonandjoesrailway I made a vid called fitting a point motor. It covers most of the points system.

  • what size tracks do you uswe tell me please

  • @Jamies2804 I use 1 meter lengths of flexitrack. I cut it to many different sizes.

  • I could watch your videos for hours :) Happy New Year to all the staff at Everad Junction.;)

  • where do you get them blue clips from mate?

  • @zaccee1996 Rapid electronics, they are called crimp blade splicers.

  • Hi, question, what wattage soldering iron do u use for soldering feeders to rails n for the track end bumper red bulb and resistor vids i just saw? Thx, Ralphy.

  • @ralphy46gizzmo Not sure mate. Mine is one of the adjustable temperature ones.

  • do you have to use plastic joiners with electro frog points

  • Do you use PECO points ? Great video by the way :)

  • @Tennisman66 Thanks mate, I always use peco

  • Could you tell me were i would be able to get as i call them the blue campers that you connected to the bus wire. Also great layout and ive got say a grand level of skill :)

  • @IdejRetsam92 You can get them from the rapid electronics website. They are called crimp blade splicers

  • cool

  • thansk for the vids some great info.

  • great stuff!, when i change sleepers at work you need at least six blokes and three sleeper tongs, thats before you have to dig all the ballast out the way, give me oo scale ballast and sleepers any day of the week!, alot lighter trust me!, great video!

  • @hihat101 Yeah, I forget how big real sleepers actually are until I go out onto the real railway. Things being 76 times smaller really makes things easier.

  • could you show us how to make the concrete middle bits or have you already done it

  • @gtacrusher123 I haven't shown it because theres not much to see. Just mix up some polyfilla and spread it into the area you want. Then smooth it with a straight edge while its wet. Once its dry, sand it to get it really smooth and paint it.

  • @EverardJunction or in my case plasteraparis

  • hi. thanks for your reply. i have sorted them now. found a video on here how to do it. so simple in the end. oh well thanks again.

  • Hi there. Just a quickie. How do I attach my crimper clips to my dropper wires. Love the layout by the way. Thanks perry

  • @pjlb2903 The crimpers can be quite stiff, wrap them round the wire and then use pliers to clip the two parts together

  • Thx

  • How do you make the cement in the train yard that youve already made

  • @southseatombo1 I made a woodern mould and then poored polyfilla into it and smoothed it off. After that i painted it grey

  • thts coming on great keep up the good work and im keeping a eye on your vid cuz there so cool

  • @mongoosekid14 Thanks, more vids soon

  • Ur layout is fantastic, unfortunately, no model shops where i live, but the cork is a fantastic idea. Just got some so will try on my dcc layout. Ive only started again on hornby railways, was a kid b4. Can i ask ur advice, I use dcc for changing points, Its awkward using select controller. But have been told, there is an easier way to do it. Any help, advice, greatly appreciated. Happy 2011 to ya, and more vids of a great layout plze.

  • @rurf I am in the process of wiring each of my points to a manual switch. Once you remember which point is connected to which switch, you can switch points instantly without typing in an address.

    More vids soon.

  • Cool vid! :D Can i just ask you why there is bits of wood/cardboard under the track and is it essential? (:

  • @craigie5488 Its not essential, I use cork sheet to raise the track a little bit. However during the vid i ran out and had to use some card.

  • i notice that you use KayDee's, where do you get them from as i cant seem to find them, i was given a a couple of sets a few years ago and want to use them as i see them all the time on American layouts and they work really well. also could you do a vid on converting stock with them if poss as i have not got a clue

  • @maxilfli1 I got the kadees from Sharp models. I will try to do a vid about it but the weather has got very cold again, so it may be a while.

    Thanks

  • Hi, your layout is looking really good.

i am on my 4th attempt at mine, have a look and see what you think when you a few spare mins

    Steve

  • You make soldering look so easy no burnt fingers and no swearing.

  • @percomotion Thanks, I did burn a finger when the camera was off. Very painful and much swearing!

  • @EverardJunction Not just me then.

  • where abouts in beds, i work in watford as i live in letchworth hertfordshire.

  • Nice 33 mate Im waiting to receive mine for xmas in BR Blue good stuff cheers andy

  • @hornbachhh Thanks

  • where did you get those connectors? The ones you demonstrated instead of soldering to the bus wire.

  • @Copeman4507 I got them from rapid electronics. Their proper name is crimp blade splicers

  • nice the new tmd is looking good

  • @jaannetts16 Thanks

  • nice job!

  • nice vid again mate.i really like the class 33 is it heljan?also where do you come from?

  • @bloodmarine77 Thanks, yes it is a heljan model. I come from Watford, Hertfordshire but now i live in bedfordshire.

  • nice what do u use to keep your track clean

  • I don't use digital because it is way too complex with all the soldering

  • @Class59Cameron Yes i agree with you, there is alot of soldering. However it does mean less wiring in the long term for complex layouts like mine.

  • wow fantastic that was a real help to me as im building one at present aswell!

  • @MrJezza31 Thanks

  • It will be great to see what it looks like when its finished. I also like the Deltic (who makes it)?

  • @ipodwindow Bachmann

  • will you ballast it???

  • @alexamltd Yes i will when i finish testing

  • wicked
