Who cares if it's not better than an F-22? In some ways, it is actually, but the F-22 and F-35 were designed for 2 different roles, the F-22 is an amazing plane in its own role and the F-35 is an amazing plane in ITS own role.
I see all the nay-sayers and American technology haters saying that our high tech fifth generation F-22s and F-35s are nothing but millions of wasted tax dollars. I would really like to prove them wrong. I usualy just tell them they need to be praying to God that we never have to find out the hard way which gen 5 fighter is the best. So are they wrong? Does our stuff work as advertised and last a long time?
Very impressive. That's all well and good, but does it work and is it reliable? I'm not trying to play devils advocate. I honestly like to believe that good old American ingenuity and know how works good, lasts a long time.
@sovietskies69: The F-35 wouldn't win a Fight against the F-22, but it's less expensive, and can attack Ground-Targets MUCH better as the F-22. The F-35 could land at a baseball-court as example. Both have pro's & con's. Even the F-35 does have advantages over the F-22, but it's not superior in Air Combat.
@sovietskies69: I know, but its still much cheaper as the F-22. Suchoi's PAK FA Prototype T-50 is ready, the Series is in development. They've said it would cost under 100M$, but it won't! The fifth Generation is horribly expensive, and i don't want to know how much a 6th Gen-Fighter will cost in future.
@TankNutJohn89 Pak-FA will be around 60 million. Countries like Russia and China have mastered price control...China's J-20 I believe will be around 45 million...also 5th gen
@sovietskies69: Seriously? Even the SU-30MKI costs about 50M$. And the last i have heard was: The Suchoi T-50 won't cost under 100M$. But we'll see in three Years. China can't even develop a good 4th Gen-Fighter on their own. They tried to copy the SU-33. It's called Shenyang J-15 & isn't reliable or capable as the SU-33. By the Way; Chinese Estimates say the J-20 won't cost under 100M$ too, what a surprise. The Prototype cost 110M$, and costs will probably increase.
@sovietskies69: While Russia & China works on 5th Generation, [ US done in 1980 ] the US is developing two six Generation-Fighters, one of Boeing & one made by Lockheed Martin. The Europeans ( Brits ) still have 4th Generation, but the UK will add the F-35 to the Eurofighter, and Japan bought the F-35 too, and NOT the Eurofighter. The Japs don't want to have a handicap against the chinese with their J-20 in Stealth-Capability. The EF costs 85M€ that are 110M$.
@TankNutJohn89 Pak-FA will cost like I said 60 million, this is also confirmed. And US Military Analysts estimate cost of J-20 to be around 45 million....and while China does copy planes, they do have a very good 4.5 gen jet: The J-10B. And Russia is also working on their 6th gen as well, the Mig-SKAT
@sovietskies69: The last PAK FA costs 60M$, without Weapon Systems & last avionics, also the Engine isn't the same as the final T-50 is gonna have. The J-20 Prototype costs more than PAK FA prototype, so i don't believe their propaganda. The J-10B can't keep up with great 4th Generation Fighters as the Eurofighter Typhoon, SU-30, Gripen or Rafale. The MIG Skat is a Stealth-Drone, we already have them in Service. Btw: Look at british Taranis or french Neuron.
@sovietskies69: The J-10B uses the KLJ-7, it can track a 3m² target at 75km. Even the old APG-68 of the F-16 Block 25 can track a 1m² target at 75km. The russian Zhuk-27 can track a 5m² target at 130km. The J-10B max. load is 19,2t. The F-16 can load up to 22,6t. The max wing load of J-10B is 542kg/m². Of F-16 it is 813kg/m². The F-16 is also faster & does have a longer range of Combat. And the F-16 is outdated. The J-10B a hell of fighter? Maybe in the '80s.But not today!
@TankNutJohn89 i think your talking about J-10A...because its what PAF is ordering as their "5th gen type" fighter..and the PAF already operated F-16's Block 52's....here is what WIki says: with increased RAM, 5th generation avionics, MAW, a diverterless supersonic inlet (DSI), an infra-red search and track (IRST) sensor, modified vertical stabiliser, ventral fins, housings fitted under the wings, next generation of integrated electronics, and a modified nose with an AESA radar.
@TankNutJohn89 and I think you were talking about another jet, J-10A uses the KLJ-10, not he 7...and the B model will have an upgraded version of that
@sovietskies69 holy shit,you again? still spewing nonsense? dude,this"mastery of price control"is absolute bullshit. the electronics and avionics used in the J-20 and Pak-Fa are absolutely inferior to their american counterparts,plus they use little to no RAM and the Pak-Fa absolutely has no RAP,russia strives for aircraft that are cheaper to produce and maintain. they have achieved this by adding inferior,cheap technology and by eliminating high maintenance stealth materials. they are inferior.
@sovietskies69 "own the fuck out of you"? LOL! you never ONCE offered even ONE fact that was either true and many times not even relevant to our argument. i stopped arguing with you after your lack of knowledge started to drive me INSANE! you seem to be unable to either intelligently respond to,or try and counter my previous posts with anything but"homo fanboy is homo"remarks...that is what made me realize you dont have a fucking clue what you are talking about in the last 2 vids we argued in.
@hotpocketpoison sure sure. and are you not the dumb-ass that says stupid shit like "russia is facing severe budget cuts" I offered you plenty of info thats why you keep going off topic. its ok fanboy....i know all you live for is winning youtube debates, thats all you probably have going for you...hahaha wow what a looser
@sovietskies69 and did i not show you that AT LEAST half of that money is going to be spent on soldier wages NOT upgrading its armed forced to even be 15 years behind us instead of 25? because i KNOW i did(its simple fucking math, do it on your calculator). and at least i WIN debates!!! you just bend over and get royally fucked XD
@hotpocketpoison Dude how many times must I tell you that the 686 billion dollars is being spent on equipment upgrade, distribute and research...thats it...its a BONUS YOU STUPID FUCK!!! actually research aht BONUS, its has all the details of how the money gets spent, it says nothing about solider wages....thats the exact BS i mean that you speak, with no proof. and you dont win shit, i have yet to see you win 1 debate. FANBOY
@sovietskies69 russia is going to spent 686 billion IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS NOT IN ONE YEAR!!! their annual budget is raising to $60billion, THATS PRACTICALLY A PENNY compared to what the US spends and is still not nearly enough to make the russian military even close to 15 years behind us. and i have proved to you that the USAF would CRUSH the VVS,the US could easily defeat russia,the F-22 is ABSOLUTELY SUPERIOR to the Pak-Fa,and that the S-400 wouldnt make a difference if the US attacked russia.
@hotpocketpoison you have not proved anything because you cant give any real sceneriois outside your game. and yes that money is getting spent annually, i know this. that equals to 20 million dollars a day, on just production, research and upgrades. and dont forget US stuff costs more, so whats penny's to some is not penny's to others. FANBOY
@sovietskies69 BUT RUSSIAN STUFF IS INFERIOR! have we NOT settled this even WITH your drastically overexaggerated stats? because in case you dont know WE HAVE! and it wouldnt be $20million it would be $16million,calculators are your friend. and the fact that 1/5th of the russian annual military budget is lost to corruption(google THAT)the number is only around $14million(but all this is trivial when the US spends $600+billion ANNUALLY). and remember it would take AT LEAST 9 T-50s to beat 1 F-22.
@hotpocketpoison actually its 20 million a day, this was said by the Russian defense ministry, because its not actually 10 years, its 8 or 9....or 8 and a half...and LMAO YOU GOT A CALCULATOR AND DID THE EQUATION??? HAHAHAHA!!! LMAO!!! LOOSER! and it would not take 9 Pak-FA's to beat 1 F-22...scenarios...scenarios...depends which one their one. and since you cant give a legit one, dont got there, and on top of that you keep talking like you know everything about Pak-FA..
@sovietskies69 fine jackass, 2 F-22s flying counter air patrol over western russia, they detect 5 Pak-Fas off their 3 o'clock, they destroy them. theres your fucking"scenario". and YES if the Pak-Fas want to beat the F-22 they would first have to take the F-22s 8 internally carried missies, meaning if there were 9 only one would be left, and then they MAY have a chance at beating the F-22.
@RealNarod28 the F-22 could destroy the Pak-Fa without the Pak-Fa even seeing it, the F-22 is superior to the Pak-Fa and the Su-35S is inferior to the Pak-Fa.
@hotpocketpoison What? hahaha no you wrong lol. Pak-Fa is superior to the F-22. SU-35BM is almost 5th generation plane, yeah it's superior to new F18E, but probably not to F22.
@RealNarod28 the F-18E is almost 5th gen itself,it features advanced jammers, a much lower RCS than the Su-35S and a much better multi role radar. the only thing the Su-35 truly beats the F-18E in is maneuverability thanks to its thrust vectoring engines. but no, the Pak-Fa is no where near as good as the F-22, if you want me to get into great detail just say so and i would be happy to oblige.
@hotpocketpoison Hey there, please get into more detail :) (NOT BECAUSE I THINK IT'S BETTER THEN THE F-22 RAPTOR, but because you really teach me alot! You can private message me also :) Tell me what I should say to show that f-22 is actually the best fighter jet around :) Thanks!
@Heaney5551 I bet it do a lot more then shit. To bad we dont have anything to truly say what jet is better. Either wait for some war :) or make something like Red Flag training when F22 and Su35 could try a dog fight or something... I dont know why USA isnt invite Russia to Red Flag (if USA consider us friends), probably afraid of something, of losing or what... i dont know.
If you even think that the F-22A and Su-35BM are COMPARIBLE then you're in a world of delusion.
Also, there are no "dogfights" in modern air combat. Jets engage eachother at 50km, and this is where stealth has an advantage. The Su-35BM's Irbis-E radar could only get a proper track and lock on the F-22 at about 10 to 15km, by which time the F-22 could have fired up to 6 missiles from 50km.
Also, there are only 11 Su-35BMs in Russian service.
@Heaney5551 HAHAHA LOL? Are you joking? Where the f*ck do you get this information? 10 to 15 km to fire missiles at F22? Try 90 km LOL. F22 cant even get to SU35BM. F22 radar has an estimated range of 125–150 miles, when SU35 radar has 250 miles. Irbis-E is better then AN/APG-77 (F22) in everything. And its Irbis-E, but what about new Н036 (N050) that will be installed in PAK-FAs. It's still based on Irbis-E, but its superior to Irbis-E. Too bad that most of the features still remains unknown.
@RealNarod28 Before whining about the F22, how about the F35? Its DAS can lock and shoot its missiles from any angle. no need for supermaneuverability in a dogfight for the F35.
Not only is the JSF a next gen fighter but its also a next gen jammer. its CATbird avionics is proven capable to track and jam the F22's stealthy radars. Its so impressive that the USAF want to upgrade its F22 fleet with the same avionics used on the F35.
So whats stopping the F35 jamming the T50(Su50) radars and sensors? in matter a fact il bet even the EA-18G can jam the T50 and blow it out of the sky afterwards.
its all about electronic warfare now and thats where russia lacks behind.
But il guess we'll find out more about who's really the best at the Korean F-X Phase 3 program.
yea goodbye good old dogfights but i mean those only look cool in the movies. personally if i was a pilot i'd prefer this much more. i mean i imagine dogfights being really scary cause you cant make any mistakes or you're dead.
With the help of TV/IR or IR EOS systems nothing is impossible... This much sensors counts JavaCV as a horrible workload... I am expecting at least 55 objects to calculate... This much calculations makes the sensors just dull... not smart... 360 deg dogfight is possible but with what weapon... I do not think that implementing IR to heat detection is that impossible... just another band to calculate... use the system to fuse the assult not the shield...
То, что двигатель F-35 вместе с поворотным соплом и многими элементами установлен от СССРовского ЯК-141 это не то, что сказать западло об этом вообще некто не должен знать, так как это страшная тайна ВВС США))))))
THIS, is what makes the F-35 worth every penny it costs. no other aircraft on the planet has anything remotely close to the EODAS system, the F-35s jammers and AN/APG-81 radar are also the best in the world. this is all we need to retain air supremacy and decimate any air, sea, and land targets. i just wish they would add 3D thrust vectoring to give it that extra edge it needs in a potential dogfight, it wouldnt even be a very expensive addition. still, even without OVT this aircraft is SUPERB!!
@8800thomas The USAF have been saying that since the 50's and have been proved wrong time and time again. Not saying thats the case now but wait till theyve hatched before counting those chickens eh?
@ClarksonsinUSA Did the F15 ever go up against anything in it's own weight class though? Pretty sure a decently piloted mig 29 and/or Su 27/33 would have at least been a match for it. As far as i know ( and im not saying that means its true) all the F15 ever really went up against were fighters a generation below.
@ClarksonsinUSA So no is what you mean then. It's common knowlege russia never supplied other countrys with full spec harware. They always downgrade their equipment for export. That said, sure i want the links anyway , should be an interesting read.
@Antifaith29 no the Russians probably don't downgrade their export aircraft, because they lag in tech........2 do so.... Would further put them at a disadvantage,in the global competition for military sales..America's number one for a reason,we sell the best equipment.....Flying Russian aircraft is to use outdated equipment,by American/WESTERN standards..Even their best..I known for fact ,American fighter Exports things like radar and avionics are not as good as the systems we use...
@ClarksonsinUSA Mhmm, and still no links. It's a FACT russian downgrade their export models, the Mig 29 in particular. Use your brain here, or a search engine for that matter. Just type in something like " russian export fighters downgraded" It's easy enough.
@ClarksonsinUSA Ok so i looked it up, no F15 has EVER shot down a Russian Su27/33. They have shot down export versions of the mig 29 ( but not the russian version) , the rest were gen 3 fighters. So in answer to my question, no, the F15 has never shot down anything in its own weightclass. I should have just looked it up myself from the start instead of listening to bias opinions and bullshit.
I think this thing is going to suck, everything is done for the pilot. What if the DAS breaks? What if a pilot is actually forced to do something in this plane besides choosing whether to engage or fly away and let the DAS do the rest? Might as well enjoy a cup of coffee and let the DAS do everything for you. This thing is supposed to replace the A-10 Warthog? This is just laughable
@thystevenmeister This is actually a completely false statement. American 5th generation fighters are faster, more maneuverable, better equipped, and stealthier than most aircraft used today (other than the SU-33 of course). Regardless, the technology in the F-22 and F-35 are far superior. In combat testing a single F-22 was capable of destroying multiple waves of "enemy" fighters (which were F-16s by the way, also a very capable aircraft) without a single loss.
@burpingtiger even a Mirage III, can easly beat a F-16, this is based in a training between USA and Argentina, in which USA used the F-16s, and Argentina the Mirages,result: F-16 beaten.
India tested the F-22, and the SU-33, they prefered the SU-33, so now they have a contract with Sukhoi, to produce their warplanes.
@thystevenmeister Psh. I highly doubt that was anything more than training exercise then. Any trained Air Force pilot in an F-16 training should be able to beat a Mirage III, at least that's what I think.
And I'd imagine they picked the SU-33 because it is SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper.
@TEHGROUND F-16 is just a bunch of computers, Mirages are faster and have a better maneuver performance, any pilot who dominates the aircraft manually, can beat the automated F-16 easily.
@thystevenmeister LOLOL WRONG!!! the F-22 is NOT for sale, there is ABSOLUTELY no fucking way that they could have preferred the SU-33 because they NEVER COMPARED THE TWO AIRCRAFT. which makes me almost POSITIVE that you are making that whole mirage>F-16 up aswell. if you dont have a valid point...GIVE UP, dont go making up bullshit!!!
@thystevenmeister Training or not, they were beaten, I don't think that Sukhoi next generation fighters are much cheaper than the F-22, the costs may be similar.
@thystevenmeister Your kidding right? The F-15 alone has 104 A to A kills to zero losses. Russian aircraft are 0 for how many against US aircraft? Oh excuse me they did get one a Cuban Mig-29 shot down a Cessna 337.
@tf51d Has an American or Israeli F15 ever faced a Russian pilot in a Russian plane, in Russian skies? or has an American or Israeli F15 ever faced a Russian pilot, in a Russian plane, in American or Israeli skies?
OR, has the F15 only preyed on camel jockey's who got their hands on technology, while they cant even grasp how to operate a rifle? Quite the accomplishment there! Like saying, out of 105 kids i robbed, i was successfull in all 105 robberies! While the kids, they lost everytime!
i really dont think any of these fancy computer systems will change the fundamental aspects of dogfighting, they said the same thing when missiles came out, they even took the gun off the f4, ya fail. the fighter still needs to climb, turn, ect.
it was funny to watch all those russian weapons being destroyed in the vid. gotta love american marketing))) seems like an interesting system. also seems the west is trying to level (catch up?) with similar unidirectional russian made systems by putting 360 visibility on their fighters. the only thing is, did i hear them say infra-red? what happens if there's a cloud? or smoke. or things like flares. IMO, good old radar is still the way to go .
need to stop playing games and propaganda videos. i've played with a 8 or 10k FLIR system before for 3 weeks of range firing. clouds/mist/smoke completely stop FLIR from viewing anything.
forgot to say. we also pointed it at windows. you cant see anything past the windows until the window is actually heated or cooled, and then you can only see what area was heated/cooled. consider this. if there's a layer of solid/gas thats cooler/hotter than whats in front of what you want to view. how would it see through it. reason aircraft can see through fog/clouds/mist/rain is because its teamed with other systems.
@Truenofan Actually I use IR optics to hunt boars and those are good enough to see through thick fog at high altitudes, yours must be broken or crap, send it back to the manufacturer. All that said your comparing commercial grade IRs to avionics equipment thats 20-30 times the cost and effectiveness (possibly more), a laughable matter if I do say so.
@adobo777 yeah.. listen, i know for a fact that infra-red systems based on SATELLITES can't even penetrate cloud cover, never mind smoke, and we're talking about sensors much smaller and less complex in this case...
@adobo777 no smartass, i know this because my entire family (even distant relatives) has worked for aerospace their entire lives. so yes, I AM, in fact that fucking awesome))) now go back to whatever game it is you paused before writing that comment of yours kiddo.
Some of you are speaking of issues regarding this multi-role fighter where it only has one engine. Having one engine is not an issue. There is hardly anything that can wrong with a jet engine on average. It is just a low stage and high stage air compressor and fuel is injected in to the compressed air which is hot due to the compression and the resulting thrust is forced out the rear. Hardly any parts that would cause engine failure. It is mainly fan blades spun at a high rate that does the work
@YZach Not even, they only created their first set of stealth fighters, and they can't even come close to this. The F-35 EO DAS is new cutting edge technology, and it has taken years for the U.S. to make. No country will be able to make something like this for a long time.
i personally dont think at the time a second engine is needed. The engine is powerful as hell, and the f16 has done well and this is even better so its promising. Not really a good idea for the budget now.
I can't even comprehend this. I can't believe we have this kind of technology. The EO DAS system is something that I thought would only be in video games like Tom Clancy's Hawk or other flight simulators, but now its real. That's freakin' amazing. Technology is moving so fast. Wouldn't be surprised if we one day create a star fighter, from Star Wars.
Yet it still has only one Engine, so, just like the F-16, if you get an Engine Failure, prepare to Eject. Shit, If you get one Engine failure in an F-22 or an F-15, you can still limp it home. However, the DAS is very appealing, as well as Stealth, and over improved technology of the fighter in it's entirety.
Also the F-35, with its internal weapons bay, has an extremely good aerodynamic profile. In a test flight, an F-16 (with no payload) had to use its after-burner just to keep up with an F-35 with full payload, without afterburner. So the actual performance of the F-35 must be a lot better than they're letting out.
The DAS system seem to compensate the F-35 lacking in ACM maneuvering vs the Sukoi series figthers. One concern though is what happend in the scenario where they go up against stealthy air to air threat such as an F22 like aircraft
I like the concept of the F-35, however I highly doubt that the finished product will be especially good for export to nation that has large areas to cover. The F-35 can't supercruise, it can't fly very fast, it doesn't have any modern long distance air-air missiles at the moment and it lacks range. For countries like Canada, Australia, and Norway which has large airspaces to cover and protect aswell as having scattered bases, the F-35 is a very bad choice.
The F-35 has the single most powerful engine in the world. If the pilot decides to drop the hammer there isn't going to be much that can keep up with him. And with meteor/AIM-120D integration supercruise is not as critical.
@XKS99 I didn't know that the F-35 would be integrated with the Meteor missile, pardon about that, however, it's not for everyone, just the italian and English F-35's. And what the hell do mean with most powerful engine in the world when it can't supercruise and it can't go any faster than Mach 1.6? The A version doesn't have STOVL capabilities which means that it's nowhere near as quick to accelerate as its big brother, the F-22.
The F135 in the F-35 develops 191 kN thrust under full afterburner. The F-22 's F119 engines only produces 156 kN each. Nothing else comes close. Most mach 2+ F-15s with hundreds of flight hours have only spent minutes above mach 1.5.
@XKS99 ---simple math, as you stated and based on your numbers: One (1) F135= 191kn. Two (2) F119s=156kn EACH= Get this = 312 kn....PLUS VECTOR. There's a huge reason the U.S. is NOT selling the F22. F35 is being bred to be our cash cow but the 22 will be on top of capabilities. Not that it'll fix the budget. Nothing comes close? Not to the American education system.
Yes, 2 F119s have more thrust than a single F135, I suppose that's obvious. But there are many advantages to a single engine fighter, cost probably being number one. Overall the F35 will probably be a somewhat less capable a2a fighter but still well ahead of anything it will face in the near to mid future. As a multirole fighter that will with DAS, EOTS etc, actually make an impact, the F35 is superior, especially when you look at the cost/benefit ratio.
@XKS99 Nothing else comes close? What are you talking about?? Do you know what a NK32 is? 245 kN of afterburning thrust. That is a tad bit higher than 191 kN, would you not agree?
=( Sorry for bursting your bubble.. Id also really hate to add that the NK32 is quite historical by todays standards..... Ah well, just as long as you clearly understand the F135 is not "untouchable" in terms of power output, it was defeated while it was still on the drawing board, by the Russians
Ah ... I'm back from vacation. Yes. NK32 has more thrust RUSSIA STROOONNG . . . er what? It's a bomber engine? It weighs twice as much? Fuel consumption is much higher? LOL try again.
"The F135 in the F-35 develops 191 kN thrust under full afterburner. blah blah NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE"
So i figured i would point out, NK32 is a military afterburning engine which produces significantly higher thrust than the F135. Therefore, i corrected your flawed claim that in essence translates to "F135 is the highest thrust military afterburning jet engine ever and nothing even comes close"
Yes and GE90 on the 777 develops 500+ kN. The F-35 is a fighter aircraft, not a bomber, airliner, or space shuttle. The only other engines that come close (but still substantially weaker) to F135 in fuel consumption, power to weight, and size are the new engines being developed for the Russian stealth fighter. Tell me, why didn't they choose to put an NK32 in the PAK FA?
@XKS99 LOL substantially weaker I don't think so, the Item 129 produces 175KN of after-burning trust, but you forget the fact that the PAK FA is two engine aircraft, so it will have a much higher thrust-to-weight ratio than that flying duck. thrust-to-weight ratio comparison
@ceko1907 paf fa is better then this shit in everything, even F22 is better then this shit, F35 is just a biggest fucking stealing of tax payers money in the world. Believe me, i know this, Su-35bm is even better.
@Russiasuperpower1 The F35 is a electronic warfare powerhouse Its APG-81 radar can jam the T50 (Su50) radar and sensors. what good wil the PAKFA be if you cant not even use your avionics. even the S400 radar is powerless against it. Russia was never good when it comes to electronic warfare. they always lacked behind.
The F35 is not only a next gen fighter like the F22 but also next gen electronic jammer. Just like its predecessors EA-6B Prowler, EF-111A Raven and EA-18G Growler.
@Russiasuperpower1 Dude, F-22's P&W F-119 produces staggering Dry thrust(without afterburner) of 23,500 lb[242] (104 kN). and Its t/w ratio is actually 1.26 with loaded weight & 50% fuel. YF-23 has t/w ratio of 1.36. I believe YF-23 is much better fighter than F-22!!
@XKS99 You forget the fact that NK-32 is over 30 plus years old, but it still holds the record for being the most powerful engine over fitted to a Military aircraft.
Cool, you can watch the enemy launch missiles and decide whether you want to eject or die with the aircraft because you can't outrun or outmaneuver them.
Russians have similar technology, optimised for air combat. Also, due to greater weapon choice and load-out on current fighters can fire a 'mix' of IR and radar guided weapons making evading a bit of a problem, also being able to outrun the F35 means that it can't really get to choose to leave combat on its own terms.
@migg2929 i think its funny how they make this yet we dont use the F 22 because its illegal or something like that in air affairs idk im not sure about the facts but oh well idk what purpose this would serve....

@TankNutJohn89 you should check the price again of an F-35, its went up a lot over the years
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69: I know, but its still much cheaper as the F-22. Suchoi's PAK FA Prototype T-50 is ready, the Series is in development. They've said it would cost under 100M$, but it won't! The fifth Generation is horribly expensive, and i don't want to know how much a 6th Gen-Fighter will cost in future.
TankNutJohn89 2 weeks ago
@TankNutJohn89 Pak-FA will be around 60 million. Countries like Russia and China have mastered price control...China's J-20 I believe will be around 45 million...also 5th gen
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69: Seriously? Even the SU-30MKI costs about 50M$. And the last i have heard was: The Suchoi T-50 won't cost under 100M$. But we'll see in three Years. China can't even develop a good 4th Gen-Fighter on their own. They tried to copy the SU-33. It's called Shenyang J-15 & isn't reliable or capable as the SU-33. By the Way; Chinese Estimates say the J-20 won't cost under 100M$ too, what a surprise. The Prototype cost 110M$, and costs will probably increase.
TankNutJohn89 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69: While Russia & China works on 5th Generation, [ US done in 1980 ] the US is developing two six Generation-Fighters, one of Boeing & one made by Lockheed Martin. The Europeans ( Brits ) still have 4th Generation, but the UK will add the F-35 to the Eurofighter, and Japan bought the F-35 too, and NOT the Eurofighter. The Japs don't want to have a handicap against the chinese with their J-20 in Stealth-Capability. The EF costs 85M€ that are 110M$.
TankNutJohn89 2 weeks ago
@TankNutJohn89 Pak-FA will cost like I said 60 million, this is also confirmed. And US Military Analysts estimate cost of J-20 to be around 45 million....and while China does copy planes, they do have a very good 4.5 gen jet: The J-10B. And Russia is also working on their 6th gen as well, the Mig-SKAT
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69: The last PAK FA costs 60M$, without Weapon Systems & last avionics, also the Engine isn't the same as the final T-50 is gonna have. The J-20 Prototype costs more than PAK FA prototype, so i don't believe their propaganda. The J-10B can't keep up with great 4th Generation Fighters as the Eurofighter Typhoon, SU-30, Gripen or Rafale. The MIG Skat is a Stealth-Drone, we already have them in Service. Btw: Look at british Taranis or french Neuron.
TankNutJohn89 2 weeks ago
@TankNutJohn89 nah dude, really do research on J-10B...its a hell of a plane
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
TankNutJohn89 2 weeks ago
@TankNutJohn89 i think your talking about J-10A...because its what PAF is ordering as their "5th gen type" fighter..and the PAF already operated F-16's Block 52's....here is what WIki says: with increased RAM, 5th generation avionics, MAW, a diverterless supersonic inlet (DSI), an infra-red search and track (IRST) sensor, modified vertical stabiliser, ventral fins, housings fitted under the wings, next generation of integrated electronics, and a modified nose with an AESA radar.
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@TankNutJohn89 and I think you were talking about another jet, J-10A uses the KLJ-10, not he 7...and the B model will have an upgraded version of that
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69 holy shit,you again? still spewing nonsense? dude,this"mastery of price control"is absolute bullshit. the electronics and avionics used in the J-20 and Pak-Fa are absolutely inferior to their american counterparts,plus they use little to no RAM and the Pak-Fa absolutely has no RAP,russia strives for aircraft that are cheaper to produce and maintain. they have achieved this by adding inferior,cheap technology and by eliminating high maintenance stealth materials. they are inferior.

FANBOY
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69 russia is going to spent 686 billion IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS NOT IN ONE YEAR!!! their annual budget is raising to $60billion, THATS PRACTICALLY A PENNY compared to what the US spends and is still not nearly enough to make the russian military even close to 15 years behind us. and i have proved to you that the USAF would CRUSH the VVS,the US could easily defeat russia,the F-22 is ABSOLUTELY SUPERIOR to the Pak-Fa,and that the S-400 wouldnt make a difference if the US attacked russia.
hotpocketpoison 2 weeks ago
@hotpocketpoison you have not proved anything because you cant give any real sceneriois outside your game. and yes that money is getting spent annually, i know this. that equals to 20 million dollars a day, on just production, research and upgrades. and dont forget US stuff costs more, so whats penny's to some is not penny's to others. FANBOY
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69 BUT RUSSIAN STUFF IS INFERIOR! have we NOT settled this even WITH your drastically overexaggerated stats? because in case you dont know WE HAVE! and it wouldnt be $20million it would be $16million,calculators are your friend. and the fact that 1/5th of the russian annual military budget is lost to corruption(google THAT)the number is only around $14million(but all this is trivial when the US spends $600+billion ANNUALLY). and remember it would take AT LEAST 9 T-50s to beat 1 F-22.
hotpocketpoison 2 weeks ago
@hotpocketpoison actually its 20 million a day, this was said by the Russian defense ministry, because its not actually 10 years, its 8 or 9....or 8 and a half...and LMAO YOU GOT A CALCULATOR AND DID THE EQUATION??? HAHAHAHA!!! LMAO!!! LOOSER! and it would not take 9 Pak-FA's to beat 1 F-22...scenarios...scenarios...depends which one their one. and since you cant give a legit one, dont got there, and on top of that you keep talking like you know everything about Pak-FA..
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@sovietskies69 fine jackass, 2 F-22s flying counter air patrol over western russia, they detect 5 Pak-Fas off their 3 o'clock, they destroy them. theres your fucking"scenario". and YES if the Pak-Fas want to beat the F-22 they would first have to take the F-22s 8 internally carried missies, meaning if there were 9 only one would be left, and then they MAY have a chance at beating the F-22.
hotpocketpoison 2 weeks ago
@hotpocketpoison like i said i love how you talk like you know everything about pak-fa....when in reality you dont...
sovietskies69 2 weeks ago
@hotpocketpoison One Pak Fa is easily going to bet few F22, even SU35BM could do that.
RealNarod28 2 weeks ago
@RealNarod28 the F-22 could destroy the Pak-Fa without the Pak-Fa even seeing it, the F-22 is superior to the Pak-Fa and the Su-35S is inferior to the Pak-Fa.
hotpocketpoison 2 weeks ago
@hotpocketpoison What? hahaha no you wrong lol. Pak-Fa is superior to the F-22. SU-35BM is almost 5th generation plane, yeah it's superior to new F18E, but probably not to F22.
RealNarod28 2 weeks ago
@RealNarod28 the F-18E is almost 5th gen itself,it features advanced jammers, a much lower RCS than the Su-35S and a much better multi role radar. the only thing the Su-35 truly beats the F-18E in is maneuverability thanks to its thrust vectoring engines. but no, the Pak-Fa is no where near as good as the F-22, if you want me to get into great detail just say so and i would be happy to oblige.
hotpocketpoison 2 weeks ago
@hotpocketpoison Hey there, please get into more detail :) (NOT BECAUSE I THINK IT'S BETTER THEN THE F-22 RAPTOR, but because you really teach me alot! You can private message me also :) Tell me what I should say to show that f-22 is actually the best fighter jet around :) Thanks!
MatthiasDebonoMD 1 week ago
@RealNarod28
LOL no.
We don't know enough about the PAK FA yet, but the Su-35BM would *NOT* do shit against an F-22.
Heaney5551 1 week ago
@Heaney5551 I bet it do a lot more then shit. To bad we dont have anything to truly say what jet is better. Either wait for some war :) or make something like Red Flag training when F22 and Su35 could try a dog fight or something... I dont know why USA isnt invite Russia to Red Flag (if USA consider us friends), probably afraid of something, of losing or what... i dont know.
RealNarod28 1 week ago
@RealNarod28
There are 184 F-22s.
Heaney5551 1 week ago
RealNarod28 1 week ago
@RealNarod28 Irbis-E is better than the AN/APG-77?? who told you that? the russians?
Not even 1/3 of the F22's intel is released to the public.
And neither did the russians claim that there N050 radar wil be superior to the AN/APG-77. because they know nothing about it. and neither do you.
Stridus7 5 days ago
@RealNarod28 Before whining about the F22, how about the F35? Its DAS can lock and shoot its missiles from any angle. no need for supermaneuverability in a dogfight for the F35.
Not only is the JSF a next gen fighter but its also a next gen jammer. its CATbird avionics is proven capable to track and jam the F22's stealthy radars. Its so impressive that the USAF want to upgrade its F22 fleet with the same avionics used on the F35.
(part1)
Stridus7 5 days ago
@RealNarod28 (part2)
Stridus7 5 days ago
@Heaney5551 Yes, 184 F-22s. But production is stopped.
Russian army just ordered 100+ Su-35BM. (Well actually they ordered 50, but another 50 will be ordered after receiving this 50).
RealNarod28 1 week ago
@RealNarod28
Nonsense.
Firstly the Russian AIR FORCE operate the Su-35BM.
Secondly they are ordering 50, not "100+". The source claiming over 100 is unreliable.
Heaney5551 1 week ago
@Heaney5551 It's official statement from Russian Ministry of Defence. They going to receive first 50, then they probably will order another 50.
RealNarod28 1 week ago
@RealNarod28
"Probably" means nothing in military terms.
They plan to order 50 in total. They have said nothing about another 50.
Heaney5551 1 week ago
@ESC8781: Well.. even the EA-18G can jam the powerful AN/APG-77. So does happen at Andrews AFB in 2009.

@Antifaith29 yes, several times in Serbia and Iraq...Would you like links....

@ClarksonsinUSA So no is what you mean then. It's common knowlege russia never supplied other countrys with full spec harware. They always downgrade their equipment for export. That said, sure i want the links anyway , should be an interesting read.
Antifaith29 1 month ago
@Antifaith29 no the Russians probably don't downgrade their export aircraft, because they lag in tech........2 do so.... Would further put them at a disadvantage,in the global competition for military sales..America's number one for a reason,we sell the best equipment.....Flying Russian aircraft is to use outdated equipment,by American/WESTERN standards..Even their best..I known for fact ,American fighter Exports things like radar and avionics are not as good as the systems we use...
ClarksonsinUSA 1 month ago
@ClarksonsinUSA Mhmm, and still no links. It's a FACT russian downgrade their export models, the Mig 29 in particular. Use your brain here, or a search engine for that matter. Just type in something like " russian export fighters downgraded" It's easy enough.
Antifaith29 1 month ago
@ClarksonsinUSA Ok so i looked it up, no F15 has EVER shot down a Russian Su27/33. They have shot down export versions of the mig 29 ( but not the russian version) , the rest were gen 3 fighters. burpingtiger 7 months ago
@thystevenmeister This is actually a completely false statement. American 5th generation fighters are faster, more maneuverable, better equipped, and stealthier than most aircraft used today (other than the SU-33 of course). Regardless, the technology in the F-22 and F-35 are far superior. In combat testing a single F-22 was capable of destroying multiple waves of "enemy" fighters (which were F-16s by the way, also a very capable aircraft) without a single loss.
burpingtiger 7 months ago
@burpingtiger even a Mirage III, can easly beat a F-16, this is based in a training between USA and Argentina, in which USA used the F-16s, and Argentina the Mirages,result: F-16 beaten.
India tested the F-22, and the SU-33, they prefered the SU-33, so now they have a contract with Sukhoi, to produce their warplanes.
thystevenmeister 7 months ago
@thystevenmeister Psh. I highly doubt that was anything more than training exercise then. Any trained Air Force pilot in an F-16 training should be able to beat a Mirage III, at least that's what I think.
And I'd imagine they picked the SU-33 because it is SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper.

@Truenofan
forgot to say. we also pointed it at windows. you cant see anything past the windows until the window is actually heated or cooled, and then you can only see what area was heated/cooled. consider this. if there's a layer of solid/gas thats cooler/hotter than whats in front of what you want to view. how would it see through it. reason aircraft can see through fog/clouds/mist/rain is because its teamed with other systems.
Truenofan 11 months ago
@Truenofan Actually I use IR optics to hunt boars and those are good enough to see through thick fog at high altitudes, yours must be broken or crap, send it back to the manufacturer.

It's too bad the Chinese already stole this information from us last year.

@YZach Not even, they only created their first set of stealth fighters, and they can't even come close to this. The F-35 EO DAS is new cutting edge technology, and it has taken years for the U.S. to make. No country will be able to make something like this for a long time.
Lunar2012 11 months ago 3
i personally dont think at the time a second engine is needed. The engine is powerful as hell, and the f16 has done well and this is even better so its promising. Not really a good idea for the budget now.

Guacamole4sho 11 months ago
I can't even comprehend this. I can't believe we have this kind of technology. The EO DAS system is something that I thought would only be in video games like Tom Clancy's Hawk or other flight simulators, but now its real. That's freakin' amazing. Technology is moving so fast. Wouldn't be surprised if we one day create a star fighter, from Star Wars.
TheXHUNTER08 11 months ago 2
Yet it still has only one Engine, so, just like the F-16, if you get an Engine Failure, prepare to Eject. Shit, If you get one Engine failure in an F-22 or an F-15, you can still limp it home. However, the DAS is very appealing, as well as Stealth, and over improved technology of the fighter in it's entirety.
coolryanlmao 1 year ago
Also the F-35, with its internal weapons bay, has an extremely good aerodynamic profile. In a test flight, an F-16 (with no payload) had to use its after-burner just to keep up with an F-35 with full payload, without afterburner. So the actual performance of the F-35 must be a lot better than they're letting out.
michelangeli23 1 year ago 4
The DAS system seem to compensate the F-35 lacking in ACM maneuvering vs the Sukoi series figthers. One concern though is what happend in the scenario where they go up against stealthy air to air threat such as an F22 like aircraft

this is just a video...lets see what will happened to F-35 in realy combat and then we talk..
SAMTOMAS 1 year ago
I like the concept of the F-35, however I highly doubt that the finished product will be especially good for export to nation that has large areas to cover. The F-35 can't supercruise, it can't fly very fast, it doesn't have any modern long distance air-air missiles at the moment and it lacks range. For countries like Canada, Australia, and Norway which has large airspaces to cover and protect aswell as having scattered bases, the F-35 is a very bad choice.
wellerocks 1 year ago
@wellerocks
The F-35 has the single most powerful engine in the world. If the pilot decides to drop the hammer there isn't going to be much that can keep up with him. And with meteor/AIM-120D integration supercruise is not as critical.
XKS99 1 year ago 8
@XKS99 I didn't know that the F-35 would be integrated with the Meteor missile, pardon about that, however, it's not for everyone, just the italian and English F-35's. And what the hell do mean with most powerful engine in the world when it can't supercruise and it can't go any faster than Mach 1.6? The A version doesn't have STOVL capabilities which means that it's nowhere near as quick to accelerate as its big brother, the F-22.
wellerocks 1 year ago
@wellerocks
The F135 in the F-35 develops 191 kN thrust under full afterburner. The F-22 's F119 engines only produces 156 kN each. Nothing else comes close. Most mach 2+ F-15s with hundreds of flight hours have only spent minutes above mach 1.5.
XKS99 1 year ago 11
@XKS99 ---simple math, as you stated and based on your numbers: One (1) F135= 191kn. Two (2) F119s=156kn EACH= Get this = 312 kn....PLUS VECTOR. There's a huge reason the U.S. is NOT selling the F22. F35 is being bred to be our cash cow but the 22 will be on top of capabilities. Not that it'll fix the budget. Nothing comes close? Not to the American education system.
Jaylinzee1 8 months ago
@Jaylinzee1
XKS99 7 months ago
@XKS99 Nothing else comes close? What are you talking about?? Do you know what a NK32 is? 245 kN of afterburning thrust. That is a tad bit higher than 191 kN, would you not agree?
=( Sorry for bursting your bubble.. Id also really hate to add that the NK32 is quite historical by todays standards..... Ah well, just as long as you clearly understand the F135 is not "untouchable" in terms of power output, it was defeated while it was still on the drawing board, by the Russians
Sorry man =(
mattmatt115 6 months ago
@mattmatt115
Ah ... I'm back from vacation. Yes. NK32 has more thrust RUSSIA STROOONNG . . . er what? It's a bomber engine? It weighs twice as much? Fuel consumption is much higher? LOL try again.
XKS99 6 months ago
@XKS99 Your claim was
"The F135 in the F-35 develops 191 kN thrust under full afterburner. blah blah NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE"
So i figured i would point out, NK32 is a military afterburning engine which produces significantly higher thrust than the F135. Therefore, i corrected your flawed claim that in essence translates to "F135 is the highest thrust military afterburning jet engine ever and nothing even comes close"
So now, you stand corrected. Bye bye!
mattmatt115 6 months ago
@mattmatt115
XKS99 6 months ago
@XKS99 LOL substantially weaker I don't think so, the Item 129 produces 175KN of after-burning trust, but you forget the fact that the PAK FA is two engine aircraft, so it will have a much higher thrust-to-weight ratio than that flying duck. thrust-to-weight ratio comparison
F-35= 0.87
F-22=1.08
PAK FA=1.19
HAHAH PAK FA beats both

I would like to add one more to the list
Space Shuttle = 3.0
three engines produce 2278KN each...mounted to an Civilain/Military aircraft. Made in the USA :)

ceko1907 5 months ago 15
@ceko1907 paf fa is better then this shit in everything, even F22 is better then this shit, F35 is just a biggest fucking stealing of tax payers money in the world. Believe me, i know this, Su-35bm is even better.
RealNarod28 2 weeks ago
@Russiasuperpower1 The F35 is a electronic warfare powerhouse Its APG-81 radar can jam the T50 (Su50) radar and sensors. what good wil the PAKFA be if you cant not even use your avionics. even the S400 radar is powerless against it. Russia was never good when it comes to electronic warfare. they always lacked behind.
The F35 is not only a next gen fighter like the F22 but also next gen electronic jammer. Just like its predecessors EA-6B Prowler, EF-111A Raven and EA-18G Growler.

hey boddy, do you know something about OLS-50M and SH-121 systems to write this bullsh*t about T50?=)))

@Russiasuperpower1 Dude, F-22's P&W F-119 produces staggering Dry thrust(without afterburner) of 23,500 lb[242] (104 kN). and Its t/w ratio is actually 1.26 with loaded weight & 50% fuel. YF-23 has t/w ratio of 1.36. I believe YF-23 is much better fighter than F-22!!
aeromech84 2 months ago
@XKS99 You forget the fact that NK-32 is over 30 plus years old, but it still holds the record for being the most powerful engine over fitted to a Military aircraft.
Russiasuperpower1 6 months ago
Cool, you can watch the enemy launch missiles and decide whether you want to eject or die with the aircraft because you can't outrun or outmaneuver them.
Russians have similar technology, optimised for air combat. Also, due to greater weapon choice and load-out on current fighters can fire a 'mix' of IR and radar guided weapons making evading a bit of a problem, also being able to outrun the F35 means that it can't really get to choose to leave combat on its own terms.

So far the F-35
doesn't have the best climb,
doesn't have the best speed
and
doesn't have the best maneuverability....
when compared with 4th gen Russian planes.
So weather the F-35 can kill before engaging in a dog fight or Before getting too close to the enemy fighters is the 298.8 Billion dollar question.

@migg2929 i think its funny how they make this yet we dont use the F 22 because its illegal or something like that in air affairs idk im not sure about the facts but oh well idk what purpose this would serve....
