Reading through these comments, I am amazed that there are Metallica fans who hate Rob? That just blows my mind! I agree Jason was incredible, I was very grateful to see him live at the fillmore, but Rob is Metallica's bass player. They are a better band then they've been since 93 because of Rob. In my opinion, Robert is the perfect fit, the perfect bass player for Metallica. There is no doubt in my mind that Rob will be in the band until the end.

@lewisdfl No, he's excellent, but he doesn't have the same driving force, or those kick your-face-in vocals that Jason had. He's better than he used to be, but he needs to really work out those vocals. Jason has a very demanding stage presence and it was a MAJOR loss for the band when he left. They really should have taken him back IMO, but they didnt. Rob is a great bassist in his own right, but I feel that Jason was better for the band overall, especially when it comes to live stuff.
