Just think, if Marijuana were legalized, it could be gotten from the convenient stores (or doctors) instead of from drug dealers who are also pushing harmful substances such as coke, heroine, various pills, etc. This single fact alone is worth its weight in gold. Do doubt, fewer people would find their way to hard drugs if pot were legalized.

Obama did it to get the popular vote. So far he hasn't really done anything for marijuana laws. Though he said he won't prosecute marijuana users, the DEA seems to operate on its own authority on cracking down on us. Obama should restructure the DEA because they're becoming their own government.

that wasn't his point (as he clarified a moment after he compared the two). his point was that he thinks if marijuana is used medically, to help people with pain and whatever else, it is no different than how morphene is used medically and should therefore also be legal to use.

That would be the drug,alcohol & tobacco companies who lobby washington lawmakers to keep it "illegal". They know that if it becomes legalized... that millions of dollars would be lost from the lack of sales of their product. lets make something clear obama, it is NOT the same thing as prescribing morphine. nearly all of the abused prescription drugs are at least moderately addicting, (some are extremely) and many of them are harmful. i support obama but the very schedules which control the drugs in our society categorize them by abuse potential, and marijuana has a much lower "abuse" potential than most (probably all) abused prescription drugs.

THC and CBD are both already the active chemical in cannabis, the amounts of each depend on when its harvested and how long they cure. the amount of tricombes( the frosty lookin stuff on pot that gets u high) is what matters. its what contians both and many others that we have not yet identifyed. cannabis is already safe but, the only bad harmfull thing about using cannabis is the smoke itself. Good thing there are tons of other ways to ingest marijuana.
