Right, I heard people say Blizzard borrows alot from the Warhammer series, and I can see some similarities like between Zerg and Tyranids, but that right there at 3:54 is without any doubt an Ork Shoota. Same gun, same armor, same spiked helmet thing, it just needs to speak in that hilarious accent. Unless this came out first which would really surprize me.

Just put my big oversize blanket over my tiny 4 year old aged body and play this game all night and day.

Really thought this game reminds me of my childhood.

@gwbushsucksballs i do use dosbox and mount the game's directory etc.. and do the setup and then start the game but it never works, it writs something about fat man or something like that then it just freezez :S :( ... any ideas ?

@Assassan666 i have the same problem, but i've found a solution. First of all open in dos box setup.exe, choose ur sound card, press save&exit, then just type "bthorne" in command line, use ctrl+F12 to raise cycles and enjoy. (about 4-5k cycles)

@Assassan666 Ok, well i can't remember it exactly but on the Abandonia forums for blackthorne there is a special command you have to enter otherwise it just freezes i think it has to do with memory, ill go check what it is and post it.

Yep, it's a great game. I remember thinking it was pretty hard when I first played through it as a kid, but when I played it again on GBA last year, I found it almost ridiculously easy, and beat it in a day or so, most levels on first attempt.

No doubt. Flashback appeared 2 years earlier. Not to make any accusations of Blizzard its just that their Blackthorne wasn't any kind of revelation hence the "I saw it before" feeling. Personally I liked "The Lost Vikings" more. And yes, it was made by Blizzard. They just had different name back then.

Unless you're new to video games, you know that it isn't uncommon for game designers to use layouts and animations from older games, especially if those games were successful. In fact, one can argue that Flashback was an extremely bad copy of Prince of Persia.

Oh... I remember playing this when I was testing out to see if I wanted to buy a SNES or a Playstation.

I knew nothing about the controls, so I just ended up crashing through the doors, taking massive damage and killing myself after about three doors... "Odd concept for I game. Killing yourself by jumping into walls." I thought.

I still ended up buying the SNES. And it's good to see now... 15 years later, that you actually could go though the game with out having to kill yourself.

Yeah no, its not as good, its better. If your comparing it to WoW, then its about 50x as good. Compared to Diablo II, its not as good. The storyline is infact a big part in the game, because it tells you what your doing, and why your doing it. As with the animation, it was amazing for its time, and it still looks better than the crappy 3d blizzard had now. The 2d they do is still amazing tho.
