  • To all the haters i am sorry but 5-26-1995 is a GREAT show. The Fire is fantastic as good as any. But in all honestly most of 1995 is rather dificult to listen to much of the time.

  • at one point Jerry said something along the lines of " we have 78 employees " we have to work, ....... for how much the dead gave to us , they could never be greedy , you people need to let that rant go.

  • so many roads at Soldier Field 95 was like a dream....

  • If you simply listen to another version of this song, like the 5/15/83 version, it's just so much tighter, and you can just hear how labored the band sounds. It's still a great song, and the fact that there's video of it makes it special, but I think everyone who is a fan of the band can see, the end is near.

  • This video is sad beyond all words.... Jerry would be DEAD in less than TWO months... And yet, the greed-filled "GDead productions" propped him up for yet another tour... His wife should be ashamed of herself... HEY ! Debra ! You mercenary bitch....

  • Look, it's true, Jerry's playing and vocals went downhill from the 80's on and with it the bands moral too, very evident..it's here on video for all to see...but, you know what, he was there, and he played and so were we.It's the truth, and it takes nothing away from our love for Jer that we speak of his decline...the band knew, we knew, and Jerry knew..I am also one of the ones who would give anything to have Jer back for one more tour I'd take it good or bad no real deadhead would deny that.

  • Thanks for this. I have some Dead on my channel, too.

  • What fun!

  • i cant watch dead shows from the early 90's and because knowing jerry's basicaly dieing on stage makes it hard to watch/listen to those shows

  • fun times~

  • I really can't stand how DeadHeads complain endlessly about "Jerry slipping" Jerry sucked, the shows sucked, no good shows in 95, etc. Personally I think all these whiners were the deadbeat (no pun intended) heads who were miracled into shows by begging for free tix, and others who lived on tour. I was at the Pittsburgh 95 show, my only show of that last tour, I would give SO MUCH to just see one more show, even during a "bad" tour! I for one really miss you Jerry!

  • I am not a whiner, a deadbeat, or someone that begged for miracle tickets. I got mine from GDTS the same way everyone else did...by sending in postal money orders. Jerry was awful during spring and summer tours in 95...the setlists were terrible...the shows short...and all the result of Jerry's lack of interest in the band, and his renewed interest in heroin. Pittsburgh was my last show too...and Jerry showed a few signs of life that night...but it was pretty obvious the end was drawing near.

  • was there in the rain with ya!!

  • @DeA2875 i concur-these were my last shows after gambling theaebouts for 10 good solid yrs-inn my home town too-

  • I wish I was there... damn, 1995, GD..............so fucking good 5minutes so far

  • @thelawya I just posted about this, I am so tired of people who criticize Jerry for "slipping" I am with you! I saw Pgh. 95 and LOVED it, only to now hear people complain about everything from routine set lists, to Jerry not being on the ball. I would give almost anything to see Jerry on stage at his worst, just one more time.

  • I had front row on Jerry's side for this show. We ending up dancing opposite end of the stage outside the curtians for the first half of this set.The second half got better than this for sure. Albany was always a blast. Have to give it up to Candance too

  • this makes me want to dance everytime I hear it

  • WHO is saying, "Oh, my goodness !!" over and over ???

    meh

It doesn't really matter. The lights certainly look good, but the fact remains that Jerry was on his last legs here.

Witness the unfocused "Slipknot". (Bobby looks as scared as he annoyed)

  • @JoshuaTaylor ...yeah, the Slipknot, good god it's hard to imagine that Jerry Garcia could ever play that badly. It sounded like amateur noodling. The Help I thought he actually did a fairly decent job on, by 95 standards he nailed it. He really should have retired from the Dead but I guess the beast just got too big and greedy.

  • this was my brothers 1st show-my last after 10 good solid years-post more pleez

  • what did they do like 12 showes after this my first was in pittsburgh same tour i made it to indiana and that was it

  • This is actually pretty decent by 95 standards. For me, 1994 was when I noticed a tremendous decline in the quality of Jerry's playing. 93 was the last year he was turned up loud and playing crisp.

  • my last show

  • I don't know if it's on YouTube but Jerry nailed the Dew(the final Dew) on the night prior to this show. After 15 years and over 100 shows, 'twas the final song I saw. I almost walked out of the show but I'm glad I stuck around for it.

  • Jerry's dyin up there with 55,000 not caring fans did drugs kill him ...I think the touring did

  • Not allowing embeds kind of goes against the band's ethos, wouldn't you say?

  • Charging between $50 - $100 for a ticket to what can at best be called Grateful Dead lite goes against MY ethos. The band once like a mighty diesel engine that roared, is now like the engine on a hybrid car..just barely enough power and energy to keep the thing moving. You were 19 years old when the band quit, so I get the fact that you likely never saw them..or if you did it was at one of the lowest points..but The Dead isn't the same band, and doesn't have the same 'ethos' as Jerry & Co.

  • I couldnt agree with you more.....and to add....the Chicago May 2009 'dead' show, they spew Obama & Rush comments via the pa during space.??... Im not there to hear the band's policitcal points of view-

  • i was embedding wasnt disabled this is awesome

  • I've heard way worse for 1995

  • is the franklins up ?? please post it dude

  • I wish I could have been there. Thank you for posting this.
