  • what about custom roms?? and even the update to gb 2.3.5 or 2.3.6

  • @scoopyabcdefghi: Sorry I do not install custom ROM so please check other sources for that info.

  • @geekyranjit k thx .... btw any update for ics let us know thru the video for S plus

  • what about updates for ics?? for S Plus

  • @scoopyabcdefghi: No the entire Galaxy S series is not getting the ICS update........ a big booh to Samsung coz this model has the hardware to support ICS.

  • @geekyranjit : No Ranjit, Galaxy S is getting 'ICS Lite' .Remember reading something like that. So may be S plus would too.

  • @karty002: No the latest info is that it is not even going to get the ICS lite..... If you follow me on G+ I mentioned about the same gave a link to the story.

  • Hey Can anyone tell me how to switch between 3G and 2G on this phone? I dont see the option of 'using 2g network'...right now im using 3g

  • Very poor review ....

  • @geekyranjit you have that bar on the homescreen with the RAM and battery info on it..how did you get this? Or is this an option...i'm getting this phone tomorrow, please reply. Thanks :)

  • @XxHunterx44xX: It is a simple widget that I downloaded from the android market, sadly do not recall the name of the same.

  • @geekyranjit Okay thanks, didn't know the whole widget thing yet haha, i'll search for it :)

  • Do you know how old Samsung Galaxy S Plus is?

    - Is it from 2010, 2011 og 2012?

  • @IAgnesI

    2012

  • @jokingmilad Thanks!

  • What's the best phone? The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S or this one?

  • @AkaTenshiPT: There is nothing like a best phone...... this is a good phone in it's price segment particularly if you like SAMOLED screen, also look for Samsung S2 or Note for other good phones..... I personally did not test the Xperia Arc S so cannot comment on the same.

  • Hi Ranjit, Is the 1.4ghz single core processor good enough for browsing and playing videos ? Any lag ? Will 720p videos get choppy ?

  • @karty002: I did not experience any lag while browsing and playing videos on this phone.

  • Thats what I call a REAL Indian Accent! LOL

  • @geekyranjit Hi, nice vid but do you know which mobile is better. Samsung S plus or HTC wildfire S?

  • @JakjeGebakje: The S Plus all the way...... but it's not fair to compare those 2 models as they are in a very different price segment the Wildfire S is a low mid-range phone which the Samsung S Plus is a entry level high end phone having SAMOLED screen faster processor etc.

  • Hello, which one would you recommend; Samsung galaxy w or samsung galaxy s plus ? :)

  • Hey ranjit!!I have seen all your videos and they are awesome!!But i would like to ask you a question.I would like to buy this phone and i would really like to know that if there is a carrying case included in the sales package of this phone?I have seen in your other video that you have a filp case for the phone, did u get that case with the mobile or not??Thank You!!

  • hii ranjit plz tell me wen will they launch ics update for samsung galaxy R plz plz

  • hey ranjit awesome video you really helpt me out thanks to you i bought one!

you sound as a very nice man keep the good work going

friendly greetings daniel from the netherland, amsterdam

  • @thedaniel5134: Thanks I am glad that you found the vid helpful and appreciate your feedback :)

  • hi ranjit..can u please tell me which phone is worth buying..the samsung galaxy s plus or samsung galaxy w....

  • @GomezRule94: Galaxy W has not been yet launched here so did not get the opportunity to check that but from the specs point this S Plus looks better coz of the slightly bigger SAMOLED screen.

  • what is price of this one ? ;)

  • i have this phone and it's much cooler and the front faceing camera is 0.3 mp

  • notification bar ? :S

  • hey man great review !

    can u recommend

this galaxy S+ or HTC rhyme?

  • which is good in terms of everyday usage galaxy s plus or galaxy sl ??

  • Hi Ranjit! I'd like to know if this phone is able to make videocalls via Skype. great video! :) so helpfull ^^

  • @merytah3: Skype works fine I was able to make / receive video call over WiFi with Skype.

  • tat was helpfull.

please suggest a smart phone with good battery backup ..i mean running 1 day without charging ...with decent use of apps and hardware

and also which is future ready in terms of processor ...my budget around 20k

  • hi, nice video really usefull.

I have 1 question for you: does the phones galaxy s plus and galaxy r have Gorilla glass and how good is are in terms of scratch resistance?

also please suggest me one of those.

    thanks in advance

  • @6269MANZ Galaxy R does not have gorilla glass S according to specs have but i was easily able to get a minor sratch on tbe screen of s plus, so i would recommend a screen protector.

  • @geekyranjit Galaxy R doesnt have SUPER AMOLED display :/

  • @6269MANZ yes it has gorilla glass but only the samsung galaxy s plus and it doesn't gets any scraches even if you drop it on the front :3

  • @6269MANZ glaxy s plus and galaxy r both have gorilla glass

  • Hi Ranjit. This was a very helpful review thanks. Keeping games apart, which is a better phone galaxy s plus or galaxy r ? I am not into gaming , but will be using the phone for everything else and would like to know which one suits my need better ?

  • @karty002: The only big plus point of S Plus is the SAMOLED screen so if you watch a lot of videos on the phone that would be the tipping point for me.

  • @ranjit could u plz tell about sony neo V?? is it worth buying??

  • @viruthebond: Yes Sony Neo V is a very good phone.

  • @geekyranjit Can we expect some review of neo v from you??

  • ranjit, does the s plus 4.0" screen look kinda big?

  • @B4iKu2: Nope its not big and is very comfortable to hold.

  • India..incredible India ::D

  • does the s plus look kina big?

  • Im gonna order the s plus in one week when my cellphone contract renews. So excited.

  • The RAM is 352mb??? I read in some other review that it was 512mb

  • @Nearman: Technically the RAM is 512 MB but after the Android OS use and other necessary files left over is 352 MB.

  • Will the S plus get the ICS? I just bought this phone 1 month ago and it's simply amazing.

  • On the background i hear all the time cars.

  • probably. becuase i just checked if i have updates and it said i can download honeycomb 3.2 so im downloading it and its almost done, cant wait!

  • sorry for asking ranjit but what do you mean by the next quarter by samsung?

  • @B4iKu2 dont't know for shure but probably he probably means in the next four months :)

  • hey. ranjit, big fan of your videos. can you tell me if my samsung galaxy 10.1 is going to get the ics update?

  • @B4iKu2: Galaxy 10.1 is the Galaxy Tab that is supposed to get the ICS update next quarter by Samsung.

  • really a indepth review, can u please make a review for galaxy s2 or simply show me the link for it...

  • There is no WiFi direct feature in this one?

  • @KarthikSoun: Nope not on this one WiFi direct is in the Galaxy Note.

  • @geekyranjit I think it must be there in the S-II as well...Did u find anyway to connect it directly to the Laptop useing WiFi? I have been racking my head over that one and i cant find the Keias Air to connect directly to WiFi on my lape and neither did i find any app for that...i

  • @KarthikSoun: Yes Galaxy S2 also has WiFi direct....... I could not test the WiFi direct coz you need both the devices that is transmitting and receiving to have WiFi direct functionality and sadly my laptop does not support WiFi direct.

  • @geekyranjit Did you find anyway to connect the Galaxy Plus to the Laptop wirelessly without router? There are programs like the Connectify but cant get them to detect my laptop..

  • @KarthikSoun: Nope I did not try...... using a router to connect over WiFi I am not using Kies using the Airdroid app like the interface much easier to work with youtube.com/watch?v=ZLxrrS-lqKg

  • HI Ranjit ,

I want to buy Samsung galaxy R but I have seen Micromax A85 which has nearly same features. Can you help me out with this.

I want a phone where i would get good andriod updates.

Can I upgrade A85 to icream sandwich.

  • @MrSwapnilkondvilkar: Can't be sure about A85 getting the ICS update but the Samsung Galaxy R is getting the ICS update.

  • @geekyranjit @7:34 it's because u put a tons of unnecessary widgets and shortcuts -.-

  • smoot

  • please let me know the price of the power meter, where can i get it from

  • Is it sure that it is getting the 4.0 Android?

  • Shave your fingers! :D Just kidding. Great review. Thanks!

  • Ranjit, could you compare IOS to Android Ice Cream Sandwich for us. Like pros and cons, cos I know hardware wise Android phones are better right now, but software is just as important as hardware in my opinion.

  • I've been using this phone for a month after a LOOONNNGGG excersice to see which one is good for me (prive vs quality and features) I'm very happy with it, at work, everyone tells me what a nice phone it is. lots of friends do have the iphone 4 and still compliment this phone. only one small problem is that when i'm typing in landscape i do tend to hit the full stop instead of the space and the message comes like a TELEX :)

  • Ranjit... please help me I'm confused as hell. Galaxy S plus or Galaxy R???

  • @vivs005: I havenet reviewed the galaxy R so cannot comment much, but its a great buy as its a dual-core phone and is getting the Android 4.0 update, its just that instead of the SAMOLED screen it has the normal SLCD screen, overall Galaxy R looks like a great buy.

  • @geekyranjit That's the only biggest dilemma, on one side you have galaxy S+ with lovely SAMOLED screen with that chrome finish on edges, while galaxy R looks like the dirtier version of S2 with same specs. Actually I'm not a game freak, so I was looking for a phone with great display for video playback n web browsing. S+ and R cost nearly the same. Hmm don't know if I should wait or what.. Anyway thanks a lot for the reply!! :)

  • @vivs005 dude galaxy r rocks i bought galaxy r sterday !!!its better than galaxy s plus !go for r!!!!!

  • Hey Ranjit, im comparing this phone with Xperia Arc S. Both have pros and cons. Hope you can help me decide which one to buy :)

  • there is no

oooo issue on this phone..........n i never found voice calls audio quality bad on this...........S plus rockks

  • @Aamircoolzz: The sound quality I did not say is bad but it's just okay, I do test a lot of phones and when compared to them it's just average and I feel it could have been slightly better the best sound I have found are on Nokia phones and 2nd I would say HTC phones.

  • my mother just bought it for me!!n this phone is perfect n i love it!!!

    Samsung Galaxy S plus-white colour.

  • I just bought it!! It is perfect! :D

  • MUIE!

  • What about tv output for this phone?

  • hey man i'm jst confused with galaxy R and galaxy s plus.plz suggest a good one for me.

  • @siddufunnyguy: As I have mentioned in my earlier comments now even the galaxy R looks like a good phone though its a dual-core phone it uses the SLCD screen whereas the S plus use SAMOLED screen, Samsung has clearly mentioned about the Android 4.0 update for Galaxy R but they have not mentioned anything about S plus regarding Android 4.0 update though spec--wise this S plus can also run Android 4.0, I would say go to the shop have a look at both phones and then decide.

  • @geekyranjit - No Samsung Galaxy S is also likely to get the ICS 4.0 update. Samsung has got a strong hit back from it's reviewers/customers.

  • @pearleye72: Yep I know about the up-roar but Samsung have just said they are considering and evaluating about the upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S phones, unless there is an official announcement with exact model numbers I do not want to speculate.

  • can't decide whether to get the Samsung Galaxy S+ or the HTC Desire Z. Both phone are in my price range, both are great, and both have their their pros and cons. Any help would be more than appreciated :)

  • Hey there Ranjit! Hope ur doing fine..I am in love with this phone, leaving aside the battery life! It lasts only a day maximum :( I've tried everything possible to save energy, and came across this "JuiceDefender" Have you tried it? Or do you have any other application which will help with the battery life ? Btw, Season's greetings :)

  • @aakyviky: For most mobile batteries it take about 5-6 full charge / dis-charge cycles for the battery to get fully primed and then it will start giving you good results, I had used Juicedefender earlier and that too also helps a bit, but wait for a week and I am sure the battery life will increase.

Also if you do not use 3G often move the phone from WCDMA to GSM only that saves about 30% battery life.

  • @geekyranjit appreciate your help Ranjit...I did notice a s light increase in battery life with Juice defender and I switch off wifi completely when not in use..WIll try switching to GSM and see what happens. Thanks again..

  • which one of the 2 (galaxy s plus or galaxy r) has tv-out option??

  • worst smartphone i ever had, it has restarting problem restarts 3-5 times a day,i flashed it but still it keeps on restarting instead go for S2.........

  • @geekyranjit hi there ranjit ! im thinking of getting this phone but i don't know if this price is good in ireland

in the shop it is 349euro

  • @SmileyGotYourBack: The price is comparable to what we have here in India for an un-locked phone so cannot comment much no price, but Samsung has just spelled the beans that the Galaxy S will not get the ice-cream sandwich update aka Android 4.0 no mention about S plus but I doubt it will get it, also check Samsung Galaxy R budget dual-core phone will get Android 4.0 update but no SAMOLED or gorilla glass.

  • @geekyranjit Hey man I am thinking to buy galaxy R..But i am confused because of No gorrilla galss display..But in Gmsarena it says it has Scratch resistant display!

  • @aayush111112: I cannot comment much about Galaxy R as I haven't personally tested it but it looks good Dual-core and now Samsung has promised the Android 4.0 aka ice-cream sandwich update for the same, for the screen I would suggest just get a screen protector and that should do the job.

  • @geekyranjit Okay thanks man will do!

  • @SmileyGotYourBack

Man that is too much! In my country the price is below 300 euro, and the Galaxy S II is about 400 euro.

  • @SmileyGotYourBack

In germany it costs about 270€

  • @SmileyGotYourBack Got one for my girlfriend for 277 euro shipped from amazon germany.

  • @zreau Does that include postage?

  • Where you can download those games and apps? plz answer someone

  • @bubble2398: From the Android marketplace, there will be an app on your Android phone called Market use that.

  • Hey Ranjit! Was thinking getting an S Plus, but what does it have that the Samsung S Doesn't? All that i've seen is that its been upgraded to 1,5 GHz capacity.

  • Hey ranjit does google voice work on this phone?

Also does Vlingo virtual assistant work?

Thanks, i am considering buying this phone, any advice? Thanks.

  • @stevedavedude: I did not try google voice but that should work as you can download it from android market but on the other hand the Vlingo assistant is not pre-installed on this phone by Samsung the Vlingo assistant comes with Galaxy Note not Galaxy S Plus.

  • hey,i'm planning to buy samsung galxy s2 and what do you suggest is good, getting it from u.s or buy it here it self for 30k??,plz reply, thanq

  • @kula3010: Yep S2 is a great phone but if you are getting it from the US just be careful coz there are quite a few different version of the S2 in US the CDMA version, 4G etc you need the unlocked GSM version that will work in India.

  • @geekyranjit vich fone shud i buy???? galaxy s plus or galaxy r or htc desire s or blackberry curve 9360?????

  • thnx @geekyranjit

  • @geekyranjit, hey as galaxy r's price is go down to rs.20990 so tell me if it will be a good buy ..... Awaiting for ur answer....... Thanks in advance.....

  • @amar1548 r u serious ?!

  • @amar1548: Yep Galaxy R is also a good phone and the good news is that Samsung has confirmed that it will get the ICS update, the Galaxy R though does not have Gorilla glass or the SAMOLED screen but for a dual core phone on a budget it looks good.

  • Great video, I think I'm gonna buy the the S plus, the S2 is to expensive :c

  • Thank you come again :D

  • hello ranjit......thx for this video

cn u help me with a qts of mine

i want to buy a phone n i'm confused between the sony ericsson xperia neo v, the samsung galaxy s plus and samsung galaxy r

    which of these is better

also cn u pls share any info about the after sales of sony phones

    awaiting ur reply....thx

  • @vick6789: I cannot make a decision for u all the phone are good in their respect each one has their +ve and -ve so check them all decide for yourself.

  • @geekyranjit ok thx......cn u pls share ne info or knowledge on sony after sales

  • @vick6789: No idea I never had to use the after sales of Sony or Samsung for mobiles in recent times.... I do not know if it's relevant but about 6 years ago I broke a screen of a high end Sony phone and they replaced it after 1 week.

  • @geekyranjit thk u sooo much....tc

  • I have a small question or maybe a request.

Please tell me which phone to get.

I'm stuck with the Samsung Galaxy S Plus and the HTC Desire S. I want the LED Flash but I don't want the 3.7 inch and want a 4.0 like the SSplus but I don't want the slow 512 MB ram and want the 768MB instead. I don't want the smaller battery on the HTC and want a bigger one like the SSplus. I really want the Sense 3.0 like in the HTC but not the touch wiz on the SSplus. Please reply ASAP.

    Thank you

    Anthony Frison.

  • @FR150N: You cannot get the phone you have in mind but Have a look at HTC Incredible S but still it does not have SAMOLED screen only Samsung phones has that and the big issues is that most of the HTC phones come with low capacity battery for the size.

  • @geekyranjit

pls show the language package and input method.

  • my iphone got stolen. it was 3gs 16gb. i think i'll buy this samsung instead. do you recommend it?

  • @radiostarsareback: If you are okay with Android then you will like the phone.

  • Hello Ranjit.. Your video was very helpful.. I am confused with buying a HTC Desire S and Samsung Galaxy S Plus.. Please post a video comparing the two! Thanks :)

  • @amitvdas: I dont think so I might be making a video on HTC Desire S coz I do not have access to that handset.

  • great video. i have ordered this phone today, i will receive it in about 3-7 days. I will watch the video once i hae the phone on my hands. one question: i have rode that the baterry lasts a 24% more than in the galaxy s. is that true? thanks. congratulations from the basque country

  • @filipondio3: Cannot comment on exactly in % terms how much long the batter last compared to the Galaxy S but sure it does last a bit longer and compared to other Android phones in the range it's pretty good.

  • Nice review! Thanks

  • great review dude thanks =D

  • ranjit..help me out..shud i buy S Plus..my range is upto 22K

  • Hi Ranjit, Very good review and thanks a lot. Jusst wanted to know whether "SKYPE" video calls work on this phone. Suppose I need to call a SKYPE ID(video call) will it work smoothly with a WIFI connection?

  • @aakyviky: Yep I tried video calling via Skype on this phone on WiFi and it works great without issues

  • @geekyranjit Thanks a ton for your quick reply :)

  • Gonna wait. In a hope that you are gonna review it when it gets launched.

  • Dear @Ranjit. Opinion on samsung galaxy s2. Should i buy it or wait for s3. I can wait 4 to 5 months. If it gets launched within that period of time.

  • @Adarsh123454321: If you are willing to wait 4-5 months they wait coz S3 should launch by then, else if in a hurry the S2 is also a great phone and Samsung has promised the ICS aka Android 4.0 update for even S2.

  • Brilliant video!

    I subscribed!

  • Please do review Motorola razr. Please review. I will then only buy it.

  • @Adarsh123454321: Sorry dude might not be able to do the same coz I do not think coz I am not planing to buy that phone and I doubt I might be able to get a review unit for the same, but one of my close friend has purchased the same and according to me its a great phone with decent battery life and there is not lag or anything like that.

  • hey ranjit! When will the icecream sandwich be available for this? And also can i put the MIUI rom on it?

  • @giargiAU79: Samsung has not announced anything yet about ICS upgrade for this model, so no idea if it will get it....... I am not into ROM's so cannot comment much about MIUI rom.

  • Best review i have ever seen. Most of the reviewers tell vs only the pros of the phone. Its not the case hear. I was just going to buy this phone. Now........... I wanted a better call quality. 3 hours for charging.......that a lot. @geekyranjit please suggest of a overall good android phone under 20000. Please. Waiting for your reply.

  • @Adarsh123454321: Have a look at Sony Xperia Neo V also the LG Optimus 2X is going for around 20K the stock LG UI is not that good but it is dual-core phone so if you know how root and to load other ROM its a great phone.

  • hav u uploaded bb curve 3g n galaxy xcover reviews????if yes den plzz send me da link.....!!!!!

  • Hi thanks for the review. Does it really take 3-4 hours for charging? That's very bad. I'm skipping it just on this.

  • hi ther,, juz wana bout the security system for the memory card... how do we set it??? as for the phone memo we have the locks,, n for external memory card??

  • Hi Ranjit, this was an excellent video. I am buying this phone and found it very helpful. Need your word on two aspects. (1)The specs say it has tv out port. So is it possible to connect the phone to lcd tv for media content ? (2) How is the GPS on this phone ? The original galaxy s had many gps issues. Is that sorted out with galaxy plus ?

  • @karty002: I did not check the TV out port coz there is just one mini USB port on the phone I guess you need that special cable mini usb to HDMI for it to work and I did not have that to test, for GPS it did lock in a normal time but I did not do any navigation while traveling in the car so cannot comment much on that.

  • @geekyranjit : Thanks for reply Ranjit. No we dont need mini usb port for it. It connects with 3.5mm jack to RCA tv out cable. There is a video for the same in youtube for Galaxy s. Want to confirm for Galaxy s plus. Is it possible for you to check any time soon ?

  • Ranjit, could you please tell me what my S Plus's problem is? Okay, here it is; when the battery is low, it kinda lights up on its own (lights up = shows the locked screen), and then when it's recharged, the same thing occurs, it still lights up and it'll stop if I restart the phone. Is it just telling me to get it recharged? If so, then why does it keep lighting up, showing the locked screen after it's been recharged? Please reply.

  • @Rockeymaru: I have had this issue but I never let my phones go below 10% and while charging it is never lit up like you are experiencing...... may be its completely discharged hence its lit up for a while when you charge the same, if anyone experience the same please share.

If this behavior also happens when u charge it normally lets say battery is around 25% and charge it then something is wrong with your phone get is checked.

  • @geekyranjit | Oh, thanks. No, I always get it recharged when the battery is below 10%, hardcore user :P

  • Without flash light is really disappointing !

  • hi Ranjit...ur review was indeed in- depth n very helpful :) ......m really considering buying it.......jst wanted 2 know whether this phone n its screen is a scratch n dust magnet???.....the back cover is so glossy its looks prone 2 scratches........also, is samsung goin 2 provide an upgrade to Android 4.0 in the near future???......n hows the performance of live streaming on 2g network???.......................waitin 4 ur reply :)

  • @MrRishiz: The screen is gorilla glass but I suggest adding a screen guard just to be on the safe side, Samsung has not mentioned anything about Android 4.0 update for any of their single core phones as of now.

I did not try streaming on 2G, I am using the BSNL SIM and the speeds on that are pathetic... no the problem of the phone but BSNL I am testing the Galaxy Note and get the same results, streaming via Wifi works great without issues.

  • the oni big issue wif this hp is that it has no flash light.

  • Hi Can u you tell me the RAM size? In specs its said 512MB but from the screenshots of this mobile i see its only 358MB.

  • @joesamuel30 The RAM is indeed 512 MB but that 358 MB that you see is available for the apps rest is used by the OS to run the phone.

  • Many thanks for the review i'm thinking about getting a Samsung s plus and this was a great help.

  • @wick3er: Glad that you found this vid review helpful

  • Hm.. Yes LED lights missing...Sad...

Oh but AMOLED Plus is a beauty

  • you upload this video on my birthday !!! :D

btw I got that phone, I like it.
