@CHUCKL1DD3LL That's bullshit. UC and SwirlX are actually great products. On my slightly softer 12 year old Dodge black paint, UC corrects VERY well. On newer foreign cars with harder clear coats (like Mercedes), #105 works a bit better. But saying that these products are a gimmick is ignorant. You've either never used them, or have no idea how to properly use them.
I used the buffing process and cut the paint all the way down to the base coat...In some areas its bare metal with primer showing...Was this a bad thing and I did do it incorrectly?
@BryanConover im guessing yess best thing to do now is consault some one who can repaint the car professionaly and dont do it again (im a brit who is glad i did not use this)
@dantae666 Why areyou glad you didn't use it? I'm not being rude, but you've got to be a complete retard to compound your paint all the way down to the primer without even noticing your doing it. As long as you keep the RPM at a moderate speed and use correct amount of compound/polish i don't see why you would have a problem using this?
@esskii nothing offensive i just know i will end up causing more damage than good to my car be better off paying some one his comment confirmed that thought
@BryanConover the only way you could have done that is by using a rotary polisher which is the method used by professionals. Which as you have found out the hard way, can cause a lot of damage in untrained hands, they burn through paint like a hot knife through butter. The type of polisher you see in the meguiars videos is dual orbital, which basically can't damage the paintwork.
@70susanne Meguiars has been bought by 3M, hope to see new and improved products now that they have access to industry leading tech in abrasives and waxes.
@snoboarder8232 well its possible my hand application method is improper, but machine applied is the only well working method for swirls and paint correction, i still prefer the professional line of products.
@DarrenWS6 What type of applicator pad are you using? Sure you won't achieve the results you would by machine, but you can definitely achieve a noticeable improvement. I haven't tried m105 and m205 yet. I've been using Griot's products, which I do not like. I just bought UC and SwirlX to try them out because they were available locally.
@snoboarder8232 Just your general Meguiars yellow hand pads Well my truck is never too bad, maybe thats why i'm not easily impressed with the products. With a very neglected paint job they probably could do a visible difference. M105, M205, and #21 with #26, awesome combo, works excellent and lasts real long.
That is why all you meguires geeks , need to be using MOTHERS products they are the real deal!

me either, both do not barely remove swirls. You need to step up to a machine buffer with #105 & #205 to remove swirl.
