Awesome! I live in Harlem! This was the best night of the year! Everyone is already happier int his country! My mom said this reminds her of JFK, I thought that was great, but then it made me nervous too. Yay!
This was an amazing video. I'm originally from Brooklyn, and I wish I could have been back on Election Night. Nonetheless, I enjoyed that night and will never forget it. This captured what Obama supporters all over the country felt. What a historic night it was.
What sisterpepperspray said! Wish I could have been there. I could definitely deal with a world this happy every day. From your lips (and fingertips) to God's ears. Yes We Did!
What a great vid! I wish I could have been there to celebrate with everyone on this momentous occasion. I am sooo looking forward to 2009 and President Obama!
I got $500 from my mom because i told her first that Obama von! She was saving this money from the day Obama anounced runing for President. This tells all.
I never thought i would live to see this moment in my life. I cried for joy that night, but for me it was bitter sweet, because my great-grand daughter was not alive to see this historical moment. she could tell me when she wss older that she remembered that day. sadly there are some people in this country who do no not understand the greatness of this time.
aww I wish I could've been there! I feel the same way those in the streets did now and it's been eleven day!! I love the natural you were rockin' Yes WE DID GObama
The work and dreams of many paid off on this historic night. It is now up to every individual to stay inspired and stay informed, acting rather than just talking.
Wish I had been there. I was in Virginia at the Mark Warner (VA-Sen) Victory Party, and it was chaotic, but not like what you saw! I also saw, when I got home, that people just started randomly showing up around the White House and celebrating. I have a friend who lives in Adam's Morgan (DC) and said the streets were INSANE. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your request, Tonya! I am very happy myself about Obama's win - I used to live in Harlem for 3 ys (Lenox), your video brings me back to my old stomping grounds! I just subscribed to your channel, and I hope you'll do the same with mine...I've got some cool videos! Respect, Kaspar

Wow - talk about excitement on the streets of Harlem, what a night, I wish I could have been there, dancing along with all of you. Your video makes me feel that I was a part of it, even while being at home. I couldn't have gone into the city anyway, healing up from a lumbar spine fusion done on 10/8 so I wouldn't have been able to go as far as you did, but thank you for making me feel like a part of your night, and what a night it was!! After about 15 minutes, a few more people joined us. On the main street, there were hoots and hollers, but nothing like what you have shared with us. Thank you so much for this video- I'll watch it often!
this pictures on the street we see here in germany only if we win a soccer worldchampionship, but in america a Poltican make this happening. thats so great to see!
For some reason it wouldn't let me comment any other way so I had to do a reply. I am very glad that Obama won but not everyone will be happy about the results. I think he will really bring the country together and hopefully give me more opportunities to do conservation work.
I have a question for everyone here, if Obamas' administration turns out to be a failure for the american people, will the fact that he is an african american be enough reason for other African Americans to vote for him again?
Being African American wasn't enough reason to vote for Obama this time, so of course it wouldn't be enough reason to vote for him for another term. I (along with the majority of Americans) voted for him because of where he stands on the isssues and because he is far more qualified to lead this country during this economic crisis than his former opponent, who never attended college. Obama, on the other hand, has a Ph.D.
Well you say the fact that Obama is an African american wasn't reason to vote for him but if you would watch this video. then there isnt any non-subjective people that would agree with that. I want to understand how you conclude that he is more qualifed to lead the country at this time. Last time you had a liberal legislative and executive office. The United States had double digit inflation and unemployment. I wish the best for my new president, but the past speaks the facts.
"I want to understand how you conclude that he is more qualifed to lead the country at this time." This conclusion stems from the admission by John McCain that his strengths are not in the area of economics...which is understandable given his education level. In addition, his running mate only has a BA in Journalism. Obama, on the other hand, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard (Juris Doctor). In addition, he was the president of the Harvard Law Review.

Dig this - OBIDEN is the president of the world
Black American is overjoyed because a half black guy with no ties to slavery is now at the beck and call of those that paid for him to be there. He is on a leash held by the Democratic party, Joe and the Kennedys will oversee him. Bill Clinton backed the democrats, not OBIDEN.
That is the correct term to use here - OBIDEN.
Sorry, but that is the truth.
The same would hold if Sarah Palin got into office.
WOW! That was so inspirational and exciting to watch black and white youth partying together it was like watching Martin Luther King Jr. dream finally came true. I can't wait to see the parties that will be in the street on January 20,2009 for Obamas inauguration celebration. Now who is going to give an inauguration party on January 20,2009?
F**k Yeah! I voted for Obama and even though my electoral in good ole Utah voted against, he got elected! I'm so happy we're going to see some change! Woo hoo! Time to play some Bob Dylan baby!! Thanks for this great video!
That looked so Great is see all people come together for a great cause. i loved seeing the Unity between all and the change that we all need. The restoration of our republic, Constitution, Bill Of Rights, all of our freedoms and justice for all again. i hope that is that change too come is the change we get and need back. If not that Unity i see there and the Unit is feel and see over here stays because it will be needed again.
Celebrate, celebrate, dance to the music! I'm proud of the American people, including the 43 percent of white males, who voted for Obama. Viva Obama and viva USA!
I hope Obama lives up to all the good will he has. After Bush, America needs a major healing & re-structuring. But sadly I don't expect all the draconian laws Bush has brought in will be repealled & only time will tell whether Obama will deliver on those election promises. Lets see an end to Iraq first and soon... not dragged out for months into years! Then start looking for REAL solutions to Afghanistan that don't end up in MORE wars & more innocent cilvilian deaths!
just goes to show you can be any color doesnt matter, and never mattered... if you set your mind to it.. you CAN and WILL achieve and CHANGE everything you ever wanted!!!!!!

Even though you're state of Utah voted for McCain, it's my understanding that Salt Lake City voted for Barack -- if so, that's amazing!
I believe the big cities in McCain's Arizona also voted for Barack.
McCain had to resort to little hick towns, many with bigots, to get his votes.
