if u mean bitting as in bitting ur hands my lovebird has the same problem but what i do is when i take her out of the cage i put a rubber glove on(just in case she bites thru the other stuff) then i put a winter glove on(not the big ones) and then i put a sock over my hand i know it sounds weird. but i put myhand in the cage and when she bites the sock i bring her out and then hold her on the sock hand for a little bit. then let her fly and i take the sock and stuff off and
put my hand under her belly and let her sit there for alittle bit then i pick her up in m yhand and rb her head and sides of her beak and she doesnt bite.
Your babies are gorgous! I love how they compete with each other & copy each other. Even though they are coupled they seem very confident and tame. I have one. He's over 2 years old now, Ernie. P.S. be careful they don't nibble on your pencils.
they're biting paper cuz they make nest out of it my lovebirds use to do that i asked vet and he said they rip strips of paper then they put in the feathers on body then they go to nest and keep repeting until nest fully build.
Believe me its worth a try. My lovebird was totally bare under his wings and on his rump - he was even breaking off the blood feathers - and now he doesn't pluck at all. Just try it, it can't hurt. Also, I believe it is the same kind that you spray or put in water.
Honestly, they look like happy little lovebirds to me. Everyone thinks feather plucking is a bad owner but sometimes the birds just do it and there isn't a whole lot you can do about it, they can still be perfectly normal.
I think feather plucking isn't just because of Stress or Bordom but maybe some nutriant missing in their diet. Lovebirds and Cockatiel are some of the birds that can be prone to feather plucking. Some of my Lovebirds and Cockatiels also Feather Plucked.
your birds look like they've been plucking :/ thats a sign of stress... where do they stay? is there something in the house that could scare them a lot?
They like to pluck their feathers, I think they got the habit from boredom, but it's been difficult to get them to stop. Many domesticated birds like to do it, esp. tame ones (since they are more emotionally dependant on humans)
There peeling themselves >:l be sure to give them toys and alot of room or theyll keep doing it until they die. I SWEAR ON MY LIFE Thats how my died on saturday not enough toys :'(
how do you get love birds to stop biting mine never stop

You should try pluck no more - don't spray it on, put it in the water. Start with a cap full then decrease over a few months...

hmm.. I've never tried the water type, I've tried vitamins... hmm... that's a good tip.

I agree to watch what they chew. Make sure the papers are made of soy inks and not poinonous to them. Shiny magazines are not good.
djstamper1 4 years ago
Oh okay, How do you tell if they're soy inks? I've been worried about what they chew on, but they get into everything.

I think it's habit from boredom, they stay in the kitchen, since it's near the most people at the most time (and they like being near people).

What happened to their backs? But any way they are sooo cute i have a peached face lovebirf too. her name is Kiwi.

I let them out almost every day, but they're terrified of toys in their cage. I've tried. They don't seem to be the toy type of birds.
However, one of them has been doing it ever since I got him about 13 years ago...

They are so cute. Wow...12-13 years old and they move around like baby birds.
