We obviously cant tell the tone correct from all these old recordings :-( But the technique is beyond human on all of those. Patti, Ponselle, Tetrazzini, De Hidalgo, Melba etc. I dont get it. Human body havent changed. Whats wrong with contemporary singers, why cant they sing like that? Very few came somewhat close in 20th century to what we here on this recording. Sad.

This is the first time that I have heard the singer's very pretty voice and skillful delivery. It is possible, indeed, that Rodgers and Hammerstein might have been inspired to create in her honour the song 'Sari with the fringe on top'. There may be many similarly fine Polish singers who are largely or entirely unknown to audiences outside their native country. For one example, Jan Kiepura, I have read, had a brother (Wladislav, I think) who was also a very good tenor, singing mainly in Poland.
Please do reach for Ewa Turska, another voice unknown to me. If she is anything like Sari, I look forward to her video with great anticipation. Thank you for your many treasures.

Not so good! Her acute notes are some times a little low and out of the resonance place. And I didn't feel Gilda in her voice.
