  • @justbieberlover135 I don't think I've ever seen another Justin Bieber fan who plays clarinet before... O.O

  • nice. ive played for 5 years. keep up the good work

  • very good better than the band poeple in the band im in. i play in the middle school advanced band. ver nicely done!

  • Terrific! You sound like an ADULT, and I agree, way better than the guy from Expert Village :) A little bit of rushing though, esp in the beginning, IMHO, but you didn't lose it with the piano. Nice job!

  • I play the clarinet in my school band, and those high notes were amazing!!!! It took us weeks to get those!!!

  • excellent job!!! you have talent!

  • 10th grade clarinet player, i've been playing for 5 years and this kid has awesome tone! he's going somewhere.

  • excellent job.

I play jazz guitar and I'm thinking of starting clarinet next year.

  • sounds good (^^) ..

  • i played this b4 at my church for some people

  • good. im in fifth grade and i play the clarinet in band. its pretty easy, except for blowing, kind of.

  • I have this sheet music

  • Does anybody have sheet music for this?

  • i have one for the sax

    Awesome tone.

  • Bravo! very nice!

  • OMG! I can't getmy high notes to come out like that! I just start clarinet last year in 6th grade and can get a sound like that but my high notes won't come out all the time! Lucky! 5 Stars!

  • Dear God, I can't get a sound like that if my life depepnded on it

    it's too airy

    But you were incredible, kid!

  • muy relajante.

    Exelente.

  • you have a nice sound and you crecindo/decricindo very well

  • If my mom were as supportive I've me as you are of your son, I would definitely practice my flute, piano, piccolo, and saxopones more. I'm glad you're so supportive and proud. You should be, he's definitely something to be proud of.

  • Hey oscarmoscar1, you are a good mother to be so proud of your son. If my mother was like that I probably never would of put down my clarinet. I played for 4 years, haven't played for 6 and am picking up a used clarinet tonight!

  • Beautiful!

    ★★★★★ STARS for You

    W ♫♪ Music!

  • He has a pretty nice tone for only having 5 lessons. But I guess playing Alto helped him. Very nice job!

  • wait, did he have five lessons in total/ never touched a clarinet before that, or did he just have 5 lessons to prepare the piece?

  • he bought the clarinet in July and noodled on it during the summer, had five lessons prior to this performance. He and his musical guide (playing piano) decided on a Friday to play moonglow and the performance was on the following Wednesday. He had heard the song that summer/fall for the first time. He had played alto sax for about a year but after hearing his grandfather play clarinet (and managed to play a scale on it) decided that he had to play clarinet.

  • thanks a lot for this highly informative and interesting reply! That is really awesome and pretty impressive. I know how hard it is to play jazz and improvise, especially at that age! all the best for him.

  • After five lessons, seriously?? Very well done! :)

  • he is pretty good but i can play lud wig von beehtoven's 2,5,7,9 symphonys on my alto sax/clarinet

  • nobody cares.

  • second that.

  • cocky, much?

  • this isnt a really hard song :o he does have good tone though, ill give him that.

  • Impressive!

  • Hwy kid, you got promise. You play weel for your age. Nic feeling/musicality. Keep it up.

  • I am so totally impressed. I lead a big band and it gives me a great sense of hope that our music is not going to die, This is kid will be the next Artie Shaw

  • only 5 lessons?

hge has a very good otne. very consistant and great control over his dynamic! i am very very impressed and i wish i was this good after only 5 lessons!

  • wow, only 5 lessons?]

    that's really good!

    =]

  • what do you think a god beginers band instrument would be?

  • to all the answers it always depends... in this case it depends on what kind of sound and music u lke

  • Beautiful tone in the chalemeau register. He needs to work on the upper clarion a bit, but if he's really that new at the clarinet he should have no trouble picking it up. I, for one, am impressed by the mature sound from such an allegedly young clarinetist.

  • pretty good.when i had taken five lessons i could play finladia hymn by jean .reminds me that i was a six grader too.

  • This kid has the potential to be a formadable jass music great , Im prejudice cuz he is my grandson

  • This kid has the potential to be a great clarinetest in the jazz scene. maby im biased cuz Im his grandpa .

  • This surprised me. Good job ^_^

  • Believe you me, I've been trying to find just the clarinet part. My grandfather's really pushing me to learn this. Of course, I'm game for anything Benny Goodman's done.

  • Nice tone for a young player!

  • Aw cute!!!

  • damnnn he's got skills! has better tone than me T_T and im in 12th grade! he's probably been playing longer than i have..(just 4 years lol)

  • Good Job!!! I've been playing clarinet since 5th grade and now i'm in 10th grade thats 5 years!!! U Should try looking at Vientos Y Tangos by Michael Gandolfi!!! It's ahard piece ut it will help u a lot!!!

  • wow! only 5 lessons! I would still be working on the song! I am guessing the lessons teacher is really good!

  • Wow... First question I have is what instruments did he play first.

Second, how did he manage to get such a perfect tone after 5 lessons??

With any luck, I'll be that consistent in tone quality by my 5th *year*.

  • His first instrument was a soprano recorder, then an alto recorder and sopranino. His school's music department teaches the Orff Schulwerk method. Next, he played the alto saxophone, he just picked it up and started playing songs. . .Saw his grandfather play the clarinet summer 2006 and played a scale on it and decided that he had to play the clarinet! Honestly, I have no idea how he does what he does. It is great fun to watch him play!

  • @MeanEyedCats I think you underrestimate the skills you get by playing any instrument... i have touched a clarinet only once before, but i play the piano for a very long time and have played the oboe some years ago, AND played on my cousin's sax twice - and i bet with these experiences anyone could learn that within 5 lessons or less...

  • @MeanEyedCats seriously..?

  • that was exelent, never stop playing

  • absolutely fantastic ,, loved this , passion will do the rest , please dont stop....!

  • Great Job!!!! 5 Lessons b4 Playing This??? OMG. I Took Bout 4 Months 2 Learn a Song 2 Play In The Hollywood Christmas Parade LoL. AMazing, Great Job.

  • Way to good Sam!! That was outstanding, keep up the good work and give your Mom a big hug from your Uncle Kris

  • Sam you did great. How cool is it that a few years ago you couldn't play anything and now you're on stage playing to a packed house. Nice job my friend, Jeremy

  • Sam is the coolest. How can you learn a song that quickly, play it in front of a packed house and have a mohawk? Ok the mohawk came later but thats a whole lotta cool inside one guy. The future sure looks bright. Jeremy

  • awesome, i couldnt imagine playing such a long solo in 6th grade!

  • Proud Mom responds: He had only taken 5 lessons when he played at this Christmas assembly!! He learned the song on a Saturday and performed it on Wednesday! Yes, I am proud of him!

  • Play it again Sam!!

  • Hey M! Glad you were able to see it!

  • Just awesome! :) nice to see you here :) and happy that it works now! Lots of love
