  • Fatso Duffy is such a fat cat eating at the taxpayer's trough...what a liar he is...

and yes, he's so fat that he has fat rolls on his fat rolls...and we're talking about his forehead here...

  • I'm glad Mike Duffy is gone. I'm not glad that he's a senator but at least he isn't on TV anymore. Now that Tom Clark has replaced him, Canadian TV is so much less partisan.

  • LOL! Guess who has the last laugh now.

CTV lied to and their report had so many inaccuracies that CBC immediately exposed right after CTV's pathetic reporting.

I now no longer watch CTV news anymore or CTV Newsnet. I tune into CBC now.

  • The problem is that NAFTA is so obviously good for both Canada and the US but the general public doesn't know this. The politicians are products of the voters. Its the voters fault that these politicians have to lie to get elected - not the politicians.

  • Mike Duffy and Tom Clark are the white elephants in the room. I'm not referring to their support of the GOP but in fact their skin color and extreme girths.

Starting at 3:13 they look like pawns (actually starting at 0:00)

  • It's pizzathehut!!

  • "NAFTA, which has created a lot of political controversy in our countries, has yielded prosperity. The question we are faced with is, 'How do we continue to enhance prosperity?'"

    -George W. Bush(Republican)

    August 21, 2007 MONTEBELLO, Quebec

  • When did lying turn to "campaign rhetoric"? I didnt get THAT memo.

  • Ian Brodie has RESIGNED! Well ahead of the release of the report investigating NAFTA-gate!

Recall, that Ian Brodie is Canada's PM top advisor, who many have said was the one who started NAFTA-gate when he told reporters that it was Clinton's campaign that reassured them first.

Now that Hillary has no chance of winning and Obama is looking more like he has what it takes to beat McCain, the Canadian gov't is looking to do some damage control and mending fences.

Looks like Brodie's the fall guy!

  • Bob Shrum is a punk ass who has been a part of many losing campaigns. He is a loser!

  • My fellow canadians who criticize the US are morons. We have the same problems here in Canada but we just turn a blind eye to them.

Start focusing on canadian problems, stop showing hatred towards our neighbours to the south regardless, and don't fall to the low levels of the right wingers in the US.

C'mon Canada - it's time we stop this shit. We are not any better

  • My country is a joke.

Toronto or Vancouver, which city is better?

  • If you like new york style of living, toronto.

If you want a more "california style" life, vancouver.

  • They werent laughing at Obama fool. They were laughing at the old fart on the news and Americans in general. I think it's great. Mr. Harper is looking after our deal it's working and we are kicking butt why wouldn't we help the republicans?

  • Ctv is the equivalent of fox in the states with less lies and more balanced news

  • I use to think Tom Clark was a journalist with integrity.

  • I live in both countries.

CTV is the equalivlent of faux news.

CBC is the reliable news source in Canada

  • CTV,CBC,Global are all disappointing. Are they still under gag orders from Conrad Black? Stephen Harper& Clintons are both Bilderberg members. They want to destroy USA and Canada. These lies will only hurt Canada in the end. When will these talking heads get a backbone?

Ron Paul and the Canadian Action Party have integrity and provide truth. When will these repeaters in the MSM realize a paycheck won't protect them when the fiat currency collaspes. We the people are the new journalists.

  • When the *fabricated* memo *accidently* leaked, a CRIME was committed. It did a lot of damage to Canada-US relations. The PMO is not going to cause more problems by saying Clinton reassured them first.

Ian Brodie (PM top aide) does not deny his Clinton comments, only that he *does not remember*.

When CTV reporters heard Brodie's Clinton comments they decided to further investigate. But for some reason they story turned into a *smear* against Obama.

Somebody was trying to protect Clinton.

  • It was not a "fabricated" memo...it was a summary of the meeting. It factually shows that the Obama's economic advisor talked with the Canadians about NAFTA. Obama flatly denied that the meeting took place, then had to admit it when the memo surfaced. Aside from fighting about the exact wording of the Goolsby's assurance, what else can Obama or the Canadians do?

    BTW...thanks for the link.

  • Bill Clinton was in Toronto Canada for a fundraiser on Mar 1.

Bill Clinton helped Canada win a mining deal with a Russian company. Bill Clinton pocketed a lot of money on this deal.

Bill Clinton staged a press conference during the Quebec Referendum vote a decade ago, which many say helped to defeat the separatists.

Bill Clinton's favorite concubine is a famous Canadian politician.

When CTV reporters investigated Ian Brodie's comments about Clinton, it somehow turned into a story on Obama.

  • Much better and not as bad as bush the war monger, an illegal invasion of a foreign coutry and oil hungry and the largest pollutor

  • Canada could really Use a Bacack Obama, this is what Canada needs a man with integrity ,responsibility and accountibility, not like any of our government officials.Only word that comes up for our officials is Denial .

  • From the Globe & Mail - March 7.

Prime Minister's Office: "Officials ONLY got briefing from OBAMA campaign"

  • While it's clear that some assurance actually came from Obama's rep regarding NAFTA, it's also clear that the report "sexed up" the facts. This reminds me of the old analogy of what you do when your dinner is delivered just as you ordered it except for the addition of a giant cockroach. You don't eat around the cockroach. You send the whold dinner back.

  • The CTV is garbage. It's the most ridiculous network in Canada and their story was full of errors. If you want to accurate coverage of Obama, visit my profile and watch the video.

  • wake up...... he was caught lying!

  • Hahahaha! This mess wasn't created by the Clinton campaign. Whoever thinks this is a complete moron. Obama was caught in a lie. Get over your crush for him.

  • "JUST LIES" AND ACTUALLY HIS. That should be the new slogan - Barack Obama, is an example of the Rumsfeld Uncertainty Theory - what we do not know, we won't know....

I have to say - no one provokes this statement in my mind more than Obama. He needs to stop.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, but Obama didn't lie. It was the Clinton campaign who actually contacted the Canadians. The truth just came out.

  • Sometimes...the truth hurts, but it's still the truth. Obama's advisor met with the Canadians. Obama initially denied the meeting took place. When pressed about it admitted the meeting, but not the "wink wink" on NAFTA. When the memo surfaced later, he said that his advisor met them on his own and not as an Obama advisor. No matter how you cut it he lied...again.

  • So the canadians and obama deny the meeting was about nafta, Brodie holds a press conference implicating the Clintons, you have the Clintons who in the 90s told americans they'd veto NAFTA and then signed it, but it's the Obama camp who lied?

    LOL

  • As far as Clinton's NAFTA problems...we'll see if a memo surfaces detailing Clinton's alleged "wink wink" of NAFTA.

The MSNBC article on Clinton's NAFTA problem is here. Please read all of it.

    firstread(dot)msnbc(dot)msn(dot)com/archive/2008/03/06/738264.aspx

  • When questioned about his Clinton's NAFTA "grain of salt" statement...

"Ian Brodie is alleged to have made an offhand comment about a rumor to a reporter. He does not recall saying it," Sandra Buckler, a spokeswoman for Harper, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

    ydr(dot)inyork(dot)com/ci_8478657?source=most_emailed

  • As for the article...next to last paragraph...

"The story was followed by CTV's Washington bureau chief, Tom Clark, who reported that the Obama campaign, not the Clinton's, had reassured Canadian diplomats.

As to your Clinton NAFTA meeting...last paragraph...

"Mr. Clark cited unnamed Canadian sources in his initial report. There was no explanation last night for why Mr. Brodie was said to have referred to the Clinton campaign but the news report was about the Obama campaign."

  • "Just Lies" and more "Okey Doke" could be the new Obama campaign slogans.

  • First...deny the meeting took place.

Next...deny that my (Obama's) economic advisor gave the 'wink wink' on NAFTA to the Canadians.

Finally...admit that my (Obama's) economic advisor talked to the Canadians as a college professor...but not as my (Obama's) economic advisor.

It's about Obama getting caught in another lie...no matter how you cut it...Obama lied about the NAFTA incident...It's the same "ole okey doke."

  • Right! But the leaking of the memo by a Canadian official from the Conservative party is disturbing. The first "furious" denial by the Canadian Ambassy that a meeting ever took place is even more disturbing. Seems to me that some heads need to roll on this northern side of the border!

Wink wink...Ole okey doke... LMAO cyates357!

  • there is a difference between "not entirely accurate" and "not true." So, yes, Obama's campaign didn't reach out, the Canadians came to them for reassurances. And they got those assurances from his chief economic adviser. Kind of like if I get accused of selling 4 kilos of cocaine in Phoenix, but the truth is I sold 5 kilos in Flagstaff.

  • Again we find ourselves schooled by our better neighbors. Thank you Canada!

  • I agree. The memo can speak for itself. Anything else is just excuses.

Just because a Canadian speaks up about the truth, unlike the news networks that report the candidates in the U.S. running for president, it doesn't mean there is an 'interference'. It's on paper folks, what more do you want?

  • Anything coming from south of the border is laughable

  • While this story does make Obama look bad, his voting record makes him look worse on NAFTA

  • Hm, the initial report was already deemed false and inaccurate... sooo, it was just a blooper?

  • Obama is a liar! This guy is a joke! Please do not think the USA a bad country. I am a Canadian living in Japan, and I think a NAMU is the best thing for the Americas. Protectionist people like Obama and Hillary are dangerous for our common American interests. Please back Harper and McCain.

  • lmao. yeah Canada is diabolically manipulating our election.

NAFTA is good. Free trade is good. and guess what I might have to vote for McCain cause Clintbama are both idiots.

Canada rules (American living in Vancouver!)

  • Again we find ourselves schooled by our better neighbors. Thank you Canada!

  • Good video - thank you

    XX

THERE WAS A MEETING - JUST NOT IN D.C. WHICH IS HOW EVERYONE FIRST DENIED THE STORY

    THERE WAS A MEETING

THE AP GOT THE REAL STORY - NO BIAS - JUST FACTS - OBAMA ADMITS THERE WAS A MEETING

THEN BLAMES THE CANADIANS FOR BAD NOTES ON THE MEETING HE DENIED FOR A WEEK

SHAME ON YOU BO Shame on you - hypocrit - or maybe just a politician like all of them but saying he is better then the rest

He is a good man - but not ready for prime time yet

  • Both Mike Duffy and Tom Clark are great journalists. We don't have much left in the US.

Obama failed his first test on handling international relation. NEVER negotiate with a foreign power without State Department approval.

A double talk like this will not do him any good both way. Voters won't believe him. And Canada won't believe him.

  • Shows Obama's true colors! Can anyone say slimey, sleazy politician?!?!

  • Finally, Obama's attempt to manipulate the American public is clear and undeniable. Problem is that his "followers" don't care. They have already been sucked in by this false promise of change.

  • Loving it!

    I love you, CTV!

    I love Canada!

    Go Hillary!

  • hee snark

    Obambi is busted!
