@Archcecil you can do it with a DD3 too. Any delay pedal that has a sample and hold (loop) function. Any delay pedal set to short time and 100% feedback will do the same thing.
Just asking had the same effect once but got shocked to hell when I did it on accident by the strings hitting an ungrounded wire eventually the strings melted and snapped otherwise I would pry be dead.
This guy has a million pedals connected together, and has got to be a freaking electrical engineer or some shit, cause he is able to control all of them every time with perfection.
You should get their Cell Scape album and listen to the original if you haven't already. And DEFINITELY go see them live a.s.a.p.
Their shows usually aren't expensive, and totally worth every single penny. Trust me
@Darthorious its one thing to assume how the guitar works but to say you were shocked because of an ungrounded wire and got it to "glitch" is silly sounding don't you think? An unground wire in a guitar just means it's gonna have a terrible buzzing sound when you plug it in, or it's just not gonna work depending on the pickups. Guitars don't have power running to them from the amp; for the one's with "active" pickups, they don't have grounds in their curcuitry. &that "glitch" is from a delay.

Are you serious?! A glitch? This isn't a fuckin video game, he has dozens of effects pedals....this asshole needs to learn to play guitar and stop pushing pedals the whole time.
Go to a Melt Banana show, and then - decide whether he can play guitar... don't rely on a short clip with bad audio quality to make a decision like that.
@mattj2192 The guy is one of the most skilled guitarists I have ever seen - Seems you don't know how to listen to anything outside of the box. Shame for you..

thats absolutely the boss dd-6 with a quick tap, and everyone just freezes like that. cool visual, but easy to do.
seifukusha 2 years ago
Either that or Audio Damage Replicant or Automaton. That's going into Aphex Twin territory.
bensteed123 2 years ago
ive always heard people say its a dd-6 but can you still do it with a dd-7 ?
Archcecil 2 years ago
@Archcecil you should be able to do it with dd7 too, i did it with dd3...

easily one of my all time favorite bands live. lost my mind...

it just sounds like he's got a delay going with the feedback cranked all the way..

Sounds closer to the various ways one can (mis)use the Hold function of the Boss DD-6, or any other delay with a short, single-stomp loop built-in.

Intentional short circuit through the stings?
