  • god i suck compared 2 this lollll

  • So does the sound for the virtual part come from the actual piano? Is this something that could also be done with a regular piano and some extra equipment? What I'm a little confused by is that this instrument came up when I googled "most technologically advanced instrument." Maybe I'm underestimating the technology at work here?

  • Man you are amazing, so funny but so gracious, I love your videos!

I wish I had a tutor like you!

  • OMG! I'm utterly impressed. That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my LIFE (but i'm only a pianist!). Now I just have to find-out HOW YOU DO THAT! I'm only 31, but have the computer skills of an octogenarian. Anyway, way to go Mario!

  • @trinaVIPiano Hi Trina. It's all the magic of the Yamaha Disklavier Mark IV Pro Grand Piano. The video sync technology is used extensively in the audition process for the Minnesota International Piano e-competition. I just decided to use that technology to play a duet with myself! If you're in the NYC area, you should check out the Yamaha Artist Services Piano Salon on Fifth Ave and E. 54th Street. They have concerts including some by Lisa Yui of Manhattan School of Music using the Disklavier.

  • @mariocast So very much appreciated! This information is invaluable- and so timely. I've had ideas like that from childhood, for example trying to 'tape' myself playing secundo & play along (primo) with the 'tape recorder'! When 'MIDI' came along, it confused the crap outta me. Long story short, I'm ready to dive-in. May never be financially ready for the Discklavier! But def going to the city this weekend!

  • @mariocast Where's this taken? Do U think U can do a piano tutorial on this 4 us 2 BTW?

  • Very funny and very very good.!!!!! Greetings from Greece

  • this is so good:D I'm doing it tommorrow for my aGCSE performance:S Wish me good luck! x

  • This is a duet? I have began to learn it by myself LOL.

No it can't be. Really hard but too easy to be a duet

  • THIS is the very reason I have always wanted a Disklavier!!!

  • Holy shi* I wish i could play this..

  • super !

  • awesome! cool!

  • That...Was...Awesome! I've never seen anything like that before, but i want to do that now :)

  • Ingenious and very clever . Good work .

  • This is so cool!

  • This is the first time I have ever wanted to clap at a YouTube video. Nicely done! :)

  • It's really a great joy to listen to you! 5*

Best wishes from Steyr/ Austria, from the town where Schubert composed his "Trout Quintet" during his holidays :-)

  • really nice !

  • Love this. I did a very similar concept with this same piece. I programmed the primo part into the built-in sequencer of a digital piano and would play it back while playing the secondo part with it. You have to do what you have to do if you cannot get yourself a duet partner.

  • YEAH ! Awesom ! LOl

  • clever!

  • so cool.. do you have any other videos like this?

  • I enjoyed this creative way of playing a four hand piece by one person. I used to play this duet with my sister.

  • That was creative! :D

  • Now you can really say you play with yourself... in public...

  • Nice Dr. Mario! I'm going to copy you and do the same thing but different piece now!

  • Thanks, Cambry. I look forward to seeing it!

  • wow that was awesome man!....great work!!

  • Brilliant, innovative, this is genius, truly hilarious.

  • I used to play this Duet with my mother's lady friend, who played piano! I love this piece!!!! Super idea!!!! I have a Yamaha Clavinova, and could use this concept to play with my recordings on Duets.

    I loved this video!!!!!

Victor Borga was a reminder of what he would do......Musicians have to have a sense of humor, amidst the natural gift of music!!!

    Kristina.....Baton Rouge, LA
