  • most of them know what ur sayin theyre just fuckin with u since ur a gringo some actually have no idea

  • The standing in line is a pet peeve for me too...lol

  • hi alto is stop jaja

  • jaja panama solo manejan los locos

  • Why did you do circles in the parking lot? You know, go around twice and not park? Wish we had that weather here. It was 12 degrees today.

  • @fayerz1 Because I was there to make a video, I didn't want to go in and shop.

  • So joyfull in contrast to the topic. People are fun.

  • My pet PEEVE in the US iswhen you call a compaines 1-800 # and don't get a human being only a robotic voice, for instence I called this theator for directions and the recording said to go to there website. You will be ablle to talk to a sales person but not a technition if something breaks.

  • @KeithCindyPanama You'll have to press 1 for English in Panama, same as the U.S.

  • Bueno el video!! Tienes razon en muchas cosas pero no todos son asi! saludos!

  • The irony regarding cutting in line whilst a moto cuts in front of all other vehicular traffic makes me chuckle.

  • May your Christmas present be patiants & kindness. This contry will test it. So it is here in the States.

    Ft. Belvior

  • If you ask your wife on the history an the many people of Panama the people from carriabien or Africa are bilingual so if you talk to them they should know english.

  • What Shop. center is this?

  • @KeithCindyPanama The main one in David. With the Rey and Do It Center.

  • I understand the fact that you have to leave your items from another store with the security person at the front desk and they give you a number. It does deter shoplifting. I won't be surprised that it may be implemented here in the States. I don't like rudeness eaither when a store treats me like that I say good by big puckets you don't need my money.

  • I agree on the fact that you do have to be more agreesive than they are in fact when I drove there when I entred an intersection i would blast my horn and flash my lights after my amigo told me that's how he gets around. He is a taxi driver.

  • @KeithCindyPanama Yeah there are a lot of accidents here too. Because sometimes 2 drivers will blast into an intersection horns blaring, lights flashing expecting the other guy to stop. It's like a big game of chicken.

  • But does it work? How many shoplifters are there in Panama, i guess not many left :)

  • @2wielen Less shop lifters I'm sure, but also less shoppers. It's something that keeps me out of the store for sure. (Not that I have a whole lot of money to begin with.)

  • And i hated shopping here .... I can see me going there with a car , my wife next to me and my little girl in the back seat....waiting waiting...NOT.

  • @bakker46 It wouldn't be so bad if I could just shop online, but that's a pain here too.

  • @halfthrottle Really ?? How on earth do you make that a pain....on the other hand they let you wait in line before you enter a shop and twice if you exit it so they probably can find a way to make online shopping a pain too

  • @bakker46 Because they don't really have a mail system here. Anything I buy must be brought to Panama by courier then I have to pay 100% tax on just about everything I bring in. I once had to pay $65 because my aunt mailed me some Easter candy. Most expensive pastel colored M&M's in history.

  • They are good at line in Japan. Too good. I when to a them park and no one was doing anything but waiting in a line very quietly and calmly it didn't feel like a theme park.

  • Was it just me, or did you make a slight double take at that girl in the white shirt at 4:43? Great videos! Keep them coming!

  • @jaetheo You can't prove it.

  • ha ha. din cross my mind of expressing explicitly. Well bring in more!

  • hi halfthrottle,

i am your fan now. following every videos you post online. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  • @eccchung It's about damn time eccchung! What took you so long?

  • Merry Christmas,To you and your family, from Vancouver Canada. I am still following your videos and I;m looking forward to next years. Peace to you.

  • @picturepirate62 Thanks amigo. I love spending Christmas somewhere warm :) Peace to you and yours.

  • I live in Hong Kong and also ride a motorcycle - the same nonsensical, aggressive driving ethos happens here too, to the point where no-one seems to use their turn signals just in case it gives the other driver a chance to cut you off before you make your move.

  • @yahoodlums Do they drive on the wrong side of the road there? I nearly killed myself trying to adjust in Thailand.

  • @halfthrottle Dude, I'm a Brit and we invented 'the wrong side'! Yes, for you its the wrong side but for me its the norm. Just to confuse things in the rest of China they drive on the other side.

  • Oh my God, I'm lying in bed recovering from surgery and your line about the door in a field almost caused me to bust my stitches I laughed so hard.

  • @ExitRomeo On no I hope you're better soon. I hate it how everything is funnier when it hurts to laugh.

  • Its not an accent its a Dialect. Exactly what I ran into when I was down there, Mix of Spanish and English. We called it Spanglish!! You really made me laugh on this one Bro!!

  • @navythomas8 Pretty wild how in such a small country there can be so many different way of communicating. All the different indigenous tribe have their own language, and their own way of mixing that language with Spanish.

  • oh hell yeah, we british HATE the French for cutting in line at disney land Paris.Just another reason for us to hate the French. Thats why I love coming to Disneyworld Florida!

  • I would have to say that Canadians are really good at waiting in lines too. What I really found interesting about this video was the number of American fast food restaurant chains that are there. I expect McDonalds but not some of the other ones.

  • @placesnotgone They are just finishing the 2nd McDonalds in my city. KFC is always jammed packed. TGIFridays is probably the nicest American chain in town.

  • A five minute rant on the virtues of not cutting in line... all while you're zooming around cars, weaving in and out of traffic, probably pissing off 30 Panamanians in the process. Funniest dichotomy evar.

  • @TheDamnSpot It takes some getting used to, but in Panama cutting through traffic on a bike is expected. People look at me like a crazy person if I stay in line behind the cars in situations like that.

  • @halfthrottle Oh, I know that. I wasn't so much criticizing as pointing out the irony.

  • This I understand. I carry my camera around a lot too. And j won't check it anywhere. This test I bought a Canon G12. I carry it everywhere. It's less hassle then my EOS 1d's.

  • I learned to drive in NYC. And it can be crazy. But I was referring to the shopping experience. Checking bags and such. Driving in Madrid was worse then NYC. Maybe it's a Spanish thing.

  • @RaceDayPhoto Oh I see. The roads in Panama are just way to small to handle all the traffic, so you're forced to drive like a crazy person.

Checking bags can be handy if you are doing a lot of shopping and don't want to carry stuff. But when it's forced on you by the guard at the door, that's when I turn around and drive home. I carry my camera bag everywhere, and I'm not going to check all my gear at the door, and hope it doesn't disappear while I'm shopping.

  • kind of reminds me a Dan Ryan I-94when you drive toward chicago downtown its either kill or be killed

  • Awww ya crazey gringo! Hahaha, they say if you want to learn a language the easiest way to do it is to hang out with kids. Approach the language as a kid would do it. The video where you went to that out of the way school may be just the ticket! The traffic thing can be solved by just taking right hand turns only. Haha, if all else fails, RIDE!!!

  • I grew up in NYC. But spent my summers in Spain with my father. Panama looks ok to me. I like the simple Hispanic life.

  • @RaceDayPhoto I've ridden in NYC. Panama is worse. Panama City is a nightmare compared to NYC.

  • So you are basically saying its like living in NYC, but no jungle to explore.

  • @RaceDayPhoto lol halfthrottle can be in mountains, jungles, and tropical beaches in less than a hour. i have a feeling i wouldnt be a big fan of david though.

  • Maybe your accent was really bad so he couldn't understand you.

  • @Charles2337 Yep that's exactly what happened. When I go out to the jungle it gets even worse. I can follow most conversations here in the city. But when people try to speak with me in the jungle I can't understand their Spanish at all because they have different accents.

It would be like growing up in California, and taking a trip to Louisiana. It's still English, but you're going to have a tough time understand some people.

  • Damn that security stuff would annoy me. In England small-medium sized supermarkets often have 1 security guy (some times with a camera attached to their chest) sort of wandering around the store. They're always miserable looking and stuff and they kinda annoy me and put me off. In the big places they just have a small security kiosk thing and the usual door sensors that beep etc. it's much better, maybe it doesn't work as well for all I know but yeah, it's not intrusive at all.

  • That cutting in line thing would drive me crazy too. Also, the traffic sounds like the typical cluster that often describes under-developed countries. They're really related. If you wouldn't stand in a line, why would you wait in a line in your car?

I liked your response to the mall traffic - you wouldn't drive your car there. Many people would look at crazy traffic like that and wouldn't want to ride a motorcycle there. Perhaps your are really psycho? LOL

  • @dahveed284 Yes.... perhaps I am. Muhahahahahahaha!

  • and yeah, if u dont like david, then have u ever thought of moving you and your wife back to the states? u said she was a doctor right? what kind? does she have the credentials to work in a 1st world country hospital. i know the medical schools in panama city are supposed to be extremely good, not sure about david though.

  • @linkavitchC I would go crazy living on one of the islands. I like David, there are nice places to shop, movie theaters, airport. Lots of different restaurants to try out, and plenty of places nearby to explore.

No university is accredited by the U.S. in Panama. To practice in the states involves some very difficult tests, and another residency. It's almost like starting over, we talked with a man who did it and it took 5 years. It's something we are still considering doing.

  • @halfthrottle yeah, i prefer to live in the states right now(24 years old). i like to visit panama 3 months of the year...1 month at a time(like asia to).dunno if theres a 3rd world country id want to live in all year. theres so much shit in the states. crazy northern mountain forests.montana, alaska, idaho, wyoming etc, deserts arizona, new mexico etc, the midwest camping escapades, the tropical beaches of florida and the keys to sub tropical california and scenic new england/orgeon/washington.

  • @linkavitchC Visiting Panama is awesome. Once you live here little things start to drive you crazy.

  • Im British and we do love to stand in lines, i once stood in a line just to see what the line was for.

  • @starwillf6 lol In places like retail stores, night clubs, etc. It's always good to keep a line, people are sort of drawn to them.

  • please do a video about the things you like and love in panama. i know you said something sarcastic to the person that asked before, like "it would be very short", but come on panama is awesome. really dont think id like david though. actually i havent really liked any big city with a pop over 50000 in all of central america(and ive been to every country). Bocas is awesome, SAN BLAS RULE, taboga island is killer, boca chica is amazing, isla de secas are awesome, and so on. jungles n islands rule

  • @linkavitchC The things I love about Panama are covered in ALL my other videos. Riding my motorcycle all day, exploring, adventuring, meeting new people, etc. Once in a while things get on my nerves and I tell you about them. All those other vids are me loving living in Panama.

  • AWESOME, i like this and i want a part 3... SOON... :D

  • The only time I'm happy to see someone get a ticket from the police is when they don't merge early and at the last minute cut into a line everyone has been sitting in.

  • @martyman5000 The roads are so poorly planned in Panama you're pretty forced to drive like an ass hole. Cutting people off is the only way your ever going to get anywhere.

  • Being english and living in england i acn say You heard wrong about the door frame and the field lol.You guys and us english do wait in line as its proper and the way it always has been. But people cutting in aint tolerated at all. Oy Muppet get to the back of the line and wait like the rest of us is said a lot. Mind some people just wont say anything they just moan under their breath about it lol

  • @thatmanfromyorkshire lol when I was in Germany someone once told me that about the English.

  • @halfthrottle lol We are not that daft mate, trust me ;-)

  • @thatmanfromyorkshire I guess it's ironic that a German was accusing the British of doing what their told without question.

  • @halfthrottle Well we grown up over the years ya know and do what we want nowadays and not what we are told to do.

  • Very nice video!!

    possibly a part 3? :)

  • @EricsCorner19 I never seem to run out of things to complain about. There could very well be a part 3.

  • @ 1:55 - Madness? THIS IS PANAMA!! ..sorry. :)
